The article discusses the latest developments of unique technological methods of gear milling of cylindrical gears for preliminary blade gear processing of hardened cylindrical gears of the cutting reducer of the UKD200-500 coal mining harvester for the final gear grinding of gear teeth with modulus m = 16 mm, with hardness HRC 56 ... 62. The peculiarity of the design of special hob cutters is that a circle passing through the lower boundary points of the involute is used as the palloid of the machine gearing of the tool and part. Pre-cutting the teeth of hardened wheels with carbide milling cutters allows you to remove the main allowance for the final gear grinding.

In the paper are presented investigation results of an effects of adopted strategy of profile-dividing grinding of a cylindrical gear teeth, performed on the Rapid Höfler 900 grinder, on machining accuracy and surface roughness of the teeth. The strategies have taken into considerations changes in the following parameters determining obtained results of the grinding: number of passes, number of leads, shaping method of the grinding wheel.

Purpose: To carry out the transition from a cylindrical gear in which the centroids are congruent ellipses with centres of rotation in the foci, to a bevel gear on the basic of congruent spherical ellipses. Design/methodology/approach: Congruent ellipses with centres of rotation in the foci serve as centroids for the design of cylindrical gears with non-circular wheels. The article analytically shows that the analogues of ellipses on the plane - congruent spherical ellipses are the basis for the construction of the axoids of the corresponding bevel gears. An analogue of the centre-to-centre distance for ellipses in the plane is the angle between the axes of rotation of conical axoids. Findings: Based on the equality of the arcs of ellipses, the dependence of the angle of rotation of one axoid on the angle of rotation of another is found. Graphs of this dependence for separate cases are given. It is shown under what conditions the axes of axoids intersect at right angle. The parametric equations of spherical ellipses and corresponding axoids are given. They were used to construct spherical ellipses and corresponding conical axoids for different cases. For gears with right angle between the axes, separate positions of the axoids with different angles of their rotation around their axes are constructed. Practical implications: Spherical ellipses are directing curves for the construction of the corresponding conical axoids. Originality/value: The paper shows that congruent spherical ellipses act as centroids for the design of axoids of bevel gears. They roll one by one without sliding, rotating around axes that intersect in the centre of the sphere. To design such gears, it is important to know the interdependence between the geometric parameters, especially for common gears with a right angle between the axes.

Changing ratio gears are noncircular. It means that if they are combined with a conventional cylindrical gear a changing axis distance will be given. Changing axis distance can generate a lot of difficulties and additional costs in the construction. Our goal was to create changing ratio gears that have cylindrical geometry and interlock with conventional cylindrical gears at a constant axis distance. This can be achieved by applying continuously changing profile shift. Profile shift modifies the diameter of the gears, however it does not have any effect on the ratio; regardless if that is constant or changing. The point of our calculation is that some gears with noncircular rolling curves can have circular pitch curve with the help of changing profile shift.

Designed and experimentally investigated the analytical method of determining the minimum value of the allowances at the side surfaces of the teeth of cylindrical gears taking into account the errors in the gear obtained in the preceding operation, and error compensation from the operation performed. For practical confirmation of the accuracy of the method of determining the allowance, an experimental gear grinding of a batch of satellites of the planetary gear of the cars automatic transmission was carried out. Based on the results of theoretical and experimental studies, recommendations were developed to determine the optimal values of allowances for the operation of grinding teeth.

The article considers the technology of producing and processing of gear wheels. It provides some requirements for gear units, in particular, for gear wheels and their production. The paper analyzes the effectiveness of various techniques for cutting the gear teeth, as well as the effectiveness of various modern tools used for gear-tooth milling. The article mentions that it is possible to increase the effectiveness of the tool due to simultaneous processing of two or three tooth spaces. It requires the use of full-duplex (tandem) and triplex interlocking disk milling cutters. The results of these studies are confirmed by the description of a number of practical examples implementing these reporting provisions upon use of the equipment described in the paper.

Aim to the working properties of aviation accessory transmission gear, such as high speed and heavy load, temperature field distribution regularity of standard involute cylindrical gear is analyzed based on indirect coupling analysis method of ANSYS software. And gear surface contact stress distribution regularity under the action of thermal loading and mechanical load is also analyzed. Gear surface real contact condition under working station is analyzed. It is shown from the result that the high speed and heavy loading on the gear teeth produces the bigger temperature gradient, and thermal deformation regularity of gear teeth is determined by temperature field distribution style, while thermal deformation of gear teeth changes contact condition and stress distribution regularity between meshing gear surfaces.
