The COVID-19 pandemic has presented challenges to finding effective treatment for lung damage. Medical researchers from different countries recognize the deficiency of pulmonary surfactant (PS) as a significant cause of the alveolar collapse, followed by microatelectasis and severe disturbances in the ventilation-perfusion relationship. Due to the pathophysiological rationale, experimental confirmations, and accumulated clinical experience, the PS preparations can be used to treat patients with severe COVID-19. The article provides a description of a case when ST was successfully used in a patient with severe COVID-19 pneumonia.

Middle aortic syndrome (MAS) is a rare disease characterized by distal thoracic aorta or abdominal aorta coarctation, and thoraco-abdominal aortic bypass grafting is an effective treatment for this condition. However, significant trauma is associated with the conventional surgical approach. We report a 26-year-old woman with MAS who presented with hypertension and needed thoraco-abdominal bypass grafting. In this operation, we adopted the endoscopic technique to improve the conventional surgical approach (reduce the incision). This case report shows that it is safe and feasible to use an endoscopic technique to reduce the trauma during this kind of operation, and provides a reference for similar treatments.

The treatment methods for Palmo plantor psoriasis causes severe side effects due to which an evident shift from modern treatments to ayurvedic treatment line. Case presentation A 15 year old, female, with complaint of cracks and dryness over sole of both feet with pain for the last 12 and half years. The case was managed with Padanimajjana (immersion of foot). Padanimajjana is a modified form of Avagaha Sweda (switz bath) where the affected part of the foot is dipped in medicated liquid. Here Mahisha Gritha (Buffaloe ghee) is used for Padanimajjana. Conclusions Mahisha Gritha Padanimajjana shows significant improvement in number of cracks, dryness and pain within short period of time. This is a very simple, economical, and effective treatment for Vipadika.
