A new ligand [4-Methoxy -N-(pyrimidine-2-ylcarbamothioyl) benzamide] (MPB) was synthesized by reactioniofi(4-Methoxyibenzoyliisothiocyanate)withi(2-aminopyri-midine). The Ligand was characterized by elemental micro analysis (C.H.N.S),(FT-IR) (UV- Vis) and (1Hi,13CNMR)spectra. Some transition metals complexes of this ligand were prepared and characterized by (FT-IR, UV-Vis) spectra conductivity measurements magnetic susceptibility and atomic absorption. From the obtained results the molecular formula of all complexes was suggested to be [M(MPB)2Cl2] (M+2i=Cu, Mn, Co ,Ni ,Zn ,Cd and Hg),the proposed geometrical structure for all complexes was an octahedral.

Acetophenone sulfamethoxazole and 3-Nitrobenzophenone sulfamethoxazole were prepared from the reaction of sulfamethoxazole with two ketones. The prepared ligands were identified by (C.H.N) analysis and UV-VIS, FT-IR spectroscopic techniques. Metal complexes of the two ligands were prepared in an aqueous alcohol with Zn (II), Mn (II) and Cu (II) ions with a molar ratio1:1. The proposed general formula for the resulting complexes was [ML.CL2.H2O]H2O .The complexes were characterized by (C.H.N) technique , spectroscopic methods ,conductivity, atomic absorption ,magnetic susceptibility measurements and melting point. According to the results obtained, the suggested geometry is to be octahedral for all the complexes.

New metal complexes of some transition metal ions Co(II), Cu(II) , Cd(II) and Zn(II) were prepared by their reaction with previously prepared ligands HLI= (P-methyl anilino) phenyl acetonitrile and HLII = (P-methyl anilino) –P– chloro phenyl acetonitrile . The two ligands were prepared by Strecker’s procedure which includ the reaction of p- toluidine with benzaldehyde and P- chlorobenzaldehyde respectively. Structures were proposed depending on atomic absorption , i.r. and u.v.visible spectra in addition to magnetic susceptibility and electrical conductivity measurements.

The two copolymer systems of styrene bearing diethanol amine side group and styrene were prepared by free radical polymerization method at 60°C in presence of 1,4-dioxane as solvent and AIBN as initiator. Their metal complexes were prepared by reaction of the copolymer used as ligand P(DEAMSt-co-St)L′′ and Ni(II) and Co(II) metal ions, which was carried out in presence of ethanol and NaOH at 65°C for 48 h in pH = 7.5. The structures of the copolymers used as ligand and metal complexes were identified by FT-IR, 1H-NMR spectra, and elemental analysis. The properties of the copolymers used as ligand and metal complexes were characterized by SEM-EDX, AAS, DSC, TGA, and DTA techniques. Then, the electrical properties of the copolymers and metal complexes were examined as a function of the temperature and frequency, and the activation energies (Ea) were estimated with conductivity measurements.

N2O2 type complexes of C+2uion have been synthesized by the reaction of Salicylaldehyde/ 3,4-diaminobenzophenone/ acetyl acetoneand glutaric anhydride. The ligands and respective metal complexes was established through spectroscopic data (FT-IR, UV-Vis,1H NMR and 13C NMR). They are non-electrolytic in nature as their molar conductivities (ΛM) in DMSO of 10-3 M solution from the EPR study the complexes proposed to be octahedral geometry. All the metal complexes have been screened for their antibacterial activity andthe predicted binding affinity using molecular docking studies.

Synthesis and characterization of 2-(hydroxyimino)-1-(phenyl propylidene) thiocarbonohydrazide (called ‘HPTCHOPD’) was studied. The synthesized compound having the molecular formula C10H13N5OS, where in isonitrosopropiophenone is reacted with thiocarbonohydrazide in presence of sodium acetate in ethanol-water mixture. The yield which is comprises effecting the reaction in the presence of sodium acetate. Also the present work report a process for producing metal complexes having the formula ML2and (ML)2Cl, wherein M is the divalent metal cation, like cobalt (Co+2), nickel (Ni+2) and copper (Cu+2). The compound HPTCHOPD is admixed with a basic divalent compound that is halide, mainly chloride of Co+2, Ni+2and Cu+2in presence of methanol-water mixture. The metal complexes so produced are characterized on the basis of spectral, elemental and magnetic analysis; reveal interesting geometries and bonding features. The data suggested square planar geometry for Co+2complex, a distorted tetrahedral/square planar-octahedral geometry for Ni+2complex and a bridged structure for Cu+2complex.

This work includes preparation of the new ligand 5- (1-benzoimidazol-2-ylamino)-1, 3, 4-thiadiazole-2-thiol (BIATT) by the reaction of 5-Amino-2-thio-1, 3, 4-thiadiazole with 2-mercaptobenzoimidazole by refluxin 1, 4-dioxane as solvent. The metal complexes of the ligand were prepared with metals chlorides of Co (II), Ni (II), Cu (II), Zn (II) and Cd (II) in ethanol as solvent. The ligand (L) and its metal complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis (C.H.N.),IR,1H-NMR and UV- Vis. spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurements ,molar conductivity, melting points and atomic absorption. The metal-ligand ratio was determined by mole ratio method. The suggested structures for the Co (II), Ni (II) and Cu (II) complexes are octahedral geometry andfor the Zn (II) and Cd (II) complex are tetrahedral geometry.
