Abstract A large fault recently discovered northwest of the Mirecourt fault in the eastern Paris basin, France, can be traced between Saint-Blin and Neufchateau on the basis of the fauna and lithology of the Jurassic terrain. It forms a 120-km curve convex towards the south, passing from an Armorican to a Variscan structural orientation. In the course of this study, a new species of Bigotites was discovered at Neufchateau in formations previously assigned to the upper Bathonian, but now known to be Bajocian.
