Abstract Electric field scale inhibition is one of the most promising methods of scale inhibition. In this study, an alternating variable frequency electric field device is presented, it able to prevent the growth of scale in industrial heat exchange equipment effectively. Conduct field test at the heat exchange station to analyze the scale inhibition performance of the device. The test results showed that after using alternating variable frequency electric field device, the scale thickness on the heat exchange surface is significantly reduced, fouling resistance reduced by more than 58%, and the anti-corrosion rate for Fe element content reaches 19.78%, The SEM image of the scale changes from a dense irregular sharp shape to a loose spherical shape. Conclusively, alternating variable frequency electric field device has grate scale inhibition performance. This is of great significance to the field of heat transfer and energy saving.

Nowadays the treatment way of circulating cooling water is mainly confined in the scale removal direction and effect is limited, but in scale inhibition direction few reports. To solve this problem, the study proposed a new technology of high-frequency electric field-colloid-electric adsorption. Simulation circulating water was treated by the self-made electrolytic system in high frequency DC electric field, obtained the optimum conditions by adjusting different electrochemical parameters, and analysed the mechanism of the process. The result suggests that this process has excellent scale inhibition, it reflected the good descaling effect by soften and peel the aging scale, it also can effectively change the crystal morphology, it is convenient, efficient and environment friendly.

In conditions of exceeding the maximum permissible levels of power frequency electric field, the staff must use personal protective equipment. Requirements for such means are regulated by the system of occupational safety standards. The goal of this work is analyzed new requirements for power frequency and induced personal protective equipment in the regulatory interstate standards GOST 12.4.172 and GOST 12.4.283. The personal protective equipment new requirements for various types of work are substantiated to electrical personnel health safety during the maintenance and operation of power grid facilities. Increasing requirements for personal protective equipment improves the staff protection at ground potential and at wire potential, including in emergency situations such as induced and step voltage.
