Abstract The research in evaluating regional transportation tourism attractiveness has mainly based on qualitative or semi-quantitative analysis, and it has not been achieved quantitative and visual evaluation. The quantitative evaluation method of regional tourism attractiveness was established by employing the analytic hierarchy process and Delphi method in this paper. Moreover, the evaluation of tourism attractiveness was divided into four factors: natural condition index, tourism condition index, transportation condition index, and social economy index. The index weight was obtained by the judgment matrixes, and the weighted overlay analysis method using ArcGIS was adapted to study the coordinated development of tourism transportation. The results show that it was scientific and feasible to make a quantitative and visual tourism attractiveness evaluation based on the four aspects of natural condition, tourism condition, transportation condition, and social economy through the verification of a case study of the Great Jiuzhai Ring Tourist Area. The research revealed that the transportation system and the tourism system interacted with each other and had an excellent positive feedback mechanism, which could further promote the integrated development of transportation and tourism, and play theoretical and methodological guiding significance on regional tourism transportation network planning based on tourism resources.

Actively engaging adolescents in meaningful program evaluation is a topic of growing interest. One possibility for such engagement is the use of photographs as part of visual evaluation, so that youth can directly engage with the research process. In this Method Note, we describe the development and implementation of a participatory, photo-based evaluation method for youth health promotion/prevention programs. Youth in this study were participants in a gender-transformative healthy relationships program for boys. We present literature supporting the use of photographs as a visual research method and for involving youth as active participants in evaluation, and explore the feasibility, utility, and acceptability of this innovative application of existing methods based on researcher experience and youth feedback. We conclude with implications for photo-based evaluation of health promotion/prevention programs, highlighting the promise of this method for promoting critical youth engagement in evaluation and the creation of meaningful knowledge translation tools.

Abstract Background This study aimed to assess the clinical usefulness of 13N-ammonia and 11C- Methionine (MET) positron emission tomography (PET)/ computed tomography (CT) in the differentiation of residual/recurrent pituitary adenoma (RPA) from the pituitary gland remnant (PGR) after trans-sphenoidal adenomectomy. Methods Between June 2012 and December 2019, a total of 19 patients with a history of trans-sphenoidal adenomectomy before PET/CT scans and histological confirmation of RPA after additional surgery in our hospital were enrolled in this study. Images were interpreted by visual evaluation and semi-quantitative analysis. In semi-quantitative analysis, the maximum standard uptake value (SUVmax) of the target and gray matter was measured and the target uptake/gray matter uptake (T/G) ratio was calculated. Results The T/G ratios of 13N-ammonia were significantly higher in PGR than RPA (1.58 ± 0.69 vs 0.63 ± 1.37, P < 0.001), whereas the T/G ratios of 11C-MET were obviously lower in PGR than RPA (0.78 ± 0.35 vs 2.17 ± 0.54, P < 0.001). Using the canonical discriminant analysis, we calculated the predicted accuracy of RPA (100%), PGR (92.9%), and the overall predicted accuracy (96.43%). Conclusions The combination of 13N-ammonia and 11C-MET PET/CT is valuable in the differentiation of RPA from PGR after trans-sphenoidal adenomectomy.

Every year, state highway agencies apply large amounts of seal coats and thin overlays to pavements to improve the surface condition, but these measures do not successfully address the problem. Overall pavement condition continues to deteriorate because of the structural deformation of pavement layers and the subgrade. To make effective decisions about the type of treatment needed, one should take into consideration the structural condition of a pavement. Several different structural estimators can be calculated by using falling weight deflectometer data and information stored in the Pavement Management Information System (PMIS) at the Texas Department of Transportation. The analysis considers pavement modulus and structural number as the structural estimators of a pavement. The evaluation method is based on the sensitivity of the structural estimators to deterioration descriptors. The deterioration per equivalent single-axle load of all major scores stored in the Texas PMIS is proposed as the primary indicator of pavement deterioration. In addition, the use of the structural condition index is recommended as a screening tool to discriminate between pavements that need structural reinforcement and those that do not. This index is calibrated for use in maintenance and rehabilitation analysis at the network level.
