Multiple myeloma (MM) is typically characterized by neoplastic proliferation of plasma cells in the bone marrow and can result in extensive skeletal destruction. Involvement of skull base is extremely rare, especially sphenoid bone. We report in this work the case of a 62-year-old woman, who presented with a sphenoid relapse of multiple myeloma treated with radiation therapy, with signicant clinical improvement and almost complete disappearance of the sphenoid metastasis. We shed light, through this case, on the rarity of sphenoid metastases in multiple myeloma and on the role of radiotherapy in the management of this type of location.

Childhood cancer in adults outlines the uncommon challenge presented by the occurrence of these pathologies in young adults, and the need for shared expertise in their successful management. The embryonal tumours, medulloblastoma, retinoblastoma, neuroblastoma, and Wilms’ tumour are considered first, emphasising similarities and differences in the pathology and management of each when adults are compared with children. The soft tissue sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, is frequently best managed with chemotherapy and surgery. The important role of specialist cytogenetics in all these tumours is emphasised.

Abstract Organizations today operate in an increasingly complex and turbulent world in which unexpected events are omnipresent. Thus, they need to develop resilience capabilities to manage unexpected disruptions, maintain high performance, and even thrive and grow. In research, there are preliminary indications that diversity could play an important role in the development of resilience in organizations. However, although there are numerous studies on both resilience and diversity, the connection between the two constructs remains largely unexplored. Our paper aims to narrow this research gap by answering the following questions: What role does diversity play in the development of organizational resilience? What does this mean for resilience-enhancing diversity management? To answer these questions, we link existing research on elements of organizational resilience and outcomes of diversity in organizations. By developing a theoretical framework, formulating propositions, and discussing implications for further research, this paper provides a foundation for future empirical research. Moreover, it offers useful insights into the successful management of organizational resilience.

AbstractEvery five years or so a case of adult small bowel intussusception secondary to pathologies such as inflammatory fibroid polyp (IFP) appears in English literature. Likewise rare cases of adult colonic intussusception due to a tumour have been reported including, more recently, their successful management by laparoscopic approach. We describe two such cases, one each of small bowel and large bowel intussusception, due to IFP and caecal tumour respectively and discuss their management. We also suggest role of combined laparoscopy/endoscopy in selected cases of colonic resections.
