The article theoretically explores and empirically examines the relationship between spiritually motivated environmentalism (SME) and green purchasing intentions (GPI). Also, the mediating role of psychographic variables, namely environmental self-efficacy (ESE), environmental locus of control (ELOC), and environmental empathy (EE), were tested on the SME and GPI. A total of 223 Indian respondents filled out the administered questionnaire to validate the hypothesis, and collected data were analysed using SEM and Hayes's Parallel Multiple Mediation Model. The effect of SME was found significantly positive on GPI through ESE, ELOC, and EE. The findings from the study indicate that spirituality motivates green buying among consumers. Also, green purchasing augments in presence of consumers' self-efficacy, locus of control, and empathy towards environment.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to extend prior supply chain research by empirically exploring the relationship among guanxi, supply chain integration (SCI), and operational performance. More specifically, this study investigates the mediating role of SCI. Design/methodology/approach Ordinary least square regression is used to analyze survey data collected from 126 automobile manufacturers in China. Findings The results reveal a significant positive relationship between guanxi and SCI, and that SCI is significantly and positively related to operational performance. The authors’ findings further suggest that guanxi indirectly affects operational performance through SCI. Practical implications The empirical findings imply that it is vital for managers to recognize the important mediating role of dynamic SCI capabilities. Originality/value As a fundamental Chinese cultural norm, guanxi can be critical in a supply chain context. Although previous research has identified the importance of guanxi and SCI in improving firm performance, far less attention was given to the study of the mediating effect of SCI on the guanxi-performance relationship. This study thus fulfills the research gap by providing an initial empirical examination of the mediating role of SCI in China’s automotive industry.

The article explores the role of ‘spirituality’ in green consumer behaviour. It proposes an original framework in order to explore the influence of spirituality on green purchasing intentions (GPI) of consumers through the mediating role of perceived consumer effectiveness (PCE). The data collected from Indian consumers were analyzed with the help of the mediation model proposed by Hayes (2008). By employing the consumer’s spirituality scale developed by Narang (2013) and the PCE scale of Kim and Choi (2005), the study found that the spiritual orientation of consumers significantly affects their GPI. The conclusions drawn from the study can be used by marketers to stimulate GPI by focusing on the role of spirituality among consumers. Since green has become a distinct way of positioning a product or a company, firms can employ environmental concerns and consciousness of consumers to magnetize new markets, customers and retain existing green consumers.

The environmental issues are growing over time, and green supply chain is considered as the essential element to improve the environment around the globe and attain the focus of recent researchers. Thus, the current study purpose is to examine the influence of green supply chain dimensions such as eco-design, green purchasing and internal environmental management on the environmental performance of government organization in Turkey. The goals also include the examination of the mediating role of organizational support among the nexus of eco-design, green purchasing, internal environmental management and environmental performance of government organization in Turkey. The data were gathered with the help of survey questionnaires from the supply chain activities related employees of government organizations, while AMOS has been employed for analysis purpose. The results revealed that green supply chain dimensions such as eco-design, green purchasing and internal environmental management have a positive association with the environmental performance of government organization in Turkey. The results also exposed that organizational support positively mediates among the nexus of green supply chain dimensions such as eco-design, green purchasing and internal environmental management and environmental performance of government organization in Turkey. These findings are suitable for the new researchers who want to examine this area in future along with the regulators who want to develop the policies related to the environmental performance that could enhance the economic growth around the globe.

Purpose: This study aims to combine the literature of consumer behavior and green marketing into a new managerial framework of green motivation. In addition, the present study proposes an original framework to explore the influence of Green Self-Efficacy (GSE) on Green Buying Intentions (GPI) of consumers through the mediating role of Perceived Consumer Effectiveness (PCE). Design/Methodology/Approach: The current study summarizes the literature of four concepts namely green self-efficacy, perceived consumer effectiveness and green purchase intentions to develop a new framework to enhance green purchasing intentions. A questionnaire was administered to empirically verify the hypothesis and data collected from Indian consumers were analyzed using Structural Equation Model (SEM) and Hayes’s Mediation Model. Findings: The study found the positive and significant effect of GSE on GPI through PCE. In addition, the relationship between GSE and GPI are partially mediated by PCE. The conclusions drawn in the study is useful for marketers to understand the factors that affect the purchasing intentions of the consumers and will help them improve the strategies in order to increase green sales. Indeed, green marketing is a distinct and distinguish way of positioning a product or company which can benefit the society with improved environmental conditions and healthy products. Originality: Although researchers have been studying the role of green motivation, particularly in the context of green purchasing behavior, it may safely asserted that the boarder dimension of GM, GSE and PCE have been remained under-researched. This study proposes an original framework to enhance GPI via GSE and PCE.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to test the mediating role of entrepreneurial orientation in the nexus between cultural diversity (CD) and firm operational performance (OP).Design/methodology/approachThe population of the current study is foreign industrial firms listed in the tax directorate of the Kurdistan region of Iraq (KRI). A stratified random sampling technique was applied to select 136 firms in KRI, with a response rate of 57 per cent. Smart-PLS was used to examine the hypothesised relationships in the proposed framework.FindingsThe results indicate that CD is significantly related to a firm’s OP. Entrepreneurial orientation (EO) is, in turn, significantly related to a firm’s OP. Furthermore, the results provide evidence that EO plays a mediating role in the nexus between CD and a firm’s OP.Originality/valueThe study highlights the importance of CD and EO in supporting a firm’s OP. In addition, the findings will provide scholars and managers a deeper understanding of the role of EO as a mediator through which CD enhances a firm’s OP.
