The International Labour Organisation (ILO) envisages that by 2016, no child should be engaged in any form of hazardous labour. This goal is a furtherance of the universally guaranteed right of all children to be protected from child labour. The majority of, if not all African states recognise the right of children to be protected from child labour. This means that this freedom cannot be taken away from children. This notwithstanding, Africa registers the highest incidence of child labour in the world and it is highly unlikely that with the current pace, the ILO target will be hit. This article argues that whereas recognising the right of children to be protected from child labour is an ideal perspective through which child labour should be viewed and addressed, such recognition cannot of itself form a complete solution to the problem. Translating this right into reality requires conscious efforts, not only on the part of African governments but the international community as a whole. Key words: Africa, child labour, rights of children

Restriction or lack of capacity to be engaged in labour activities must not become an encumbrance for efficient employment of people with disabilities. International legal protection of such a vulnerable group should be based on the principles of complete equality of rights and full participation in the life of society. The article deals with the international legal mechanisms of labour rights protection of people with disabilities under the acts passed by the UN and ILO. Ensuring due legal protection of labour rights of people with disabilities in the world of work will facilitate their realization of the right to decent work, which is the main goal of the regulatory activity of the ILO.

The article focuses on the need to create an international image of Ukraine. The analysis of the world rankings shows that in the eyes of the international community we are a corrupt low-income country with a beseeching glance at the international community and a serious armed conflict with Russia, which results in the negative image of Ukraine. The country’s leadership does not regard the creation of a positive image of Ukraine as an extremely important task, therefore leading to the continued absence of a branding strategy. The author believes that it is necessary to determine the authority that will be responsible for the international image of the country and will help coordinate cooperation between all organizations, whether governmental or non-governmental. In Ukraine, it is necessary to overcome the bureaucratic red tape and narrow-mindedness. There is an urgent need for an elaborate strategy, in which all the mechanisms and tools to create the right image of the state should be involved. According to the author, access to the global information space looks promising. Ukraine should vigorously shape global media landscape and use the potential of its news agencies. Official state diplomacy should actively participate in the process of forming a positive international image of Ukraine. It is also necessary to thoroughly study and adopt foreign experience. Ukraine is the largest country in Europe, with rich cultural heritage, history and traditions. Currently, economic indicators are at a low level, but a prospect of their growth can attract foreign investment. The analysis of the image of Ukraine shows that the country is not consciously managing it. However, even minimal efforts can significantly improve the country’s position in the global perception. We have something to be proud of, we just need to start talking about it and bring it to the wider world audience. Keywords: international image, Ukraine, state diplomacy, information space, world ranking.

Work is one, if not the, primary mechanism through which the majority of the world's population experience economic globalisation. Work is intimately connected to matters of human rights, social equality, welfare, and class struggle and it is increasingly determined by activities that occur in the international and transnational levels. Neoliberal globalisation has fundamentally restructured the world of work. It has also undermined the social democratic worldview of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on which the global governance portfolio for labour most squarely falls. The ILO's current Director General Juan Somavia, in referring to this era of neoliberal hegemony, has said that "the ILO has often been swimming against the tide". This thesis undertakes a thorough examination of Somavia's statement in order to determine the extent to which the neoliberal tide has saturated the organisation and its ideas?

Depending on the state, an individual may not have the procedural capacity to appeal to the Court, but as a result of changes in the international community, they have gained the right to sue in international courts. This development is a factor that will be taken into account in all research on the international subjectivity of the individual. Key words: International individual obligations, legal sanctions, UN Charter, legal responsibility, international military tribunal
