Abstract The article presents a method for evaluating the efficiency of port container terminals. The research was conducted for nine European terminals which use different handling technologies. The terminals have been divided due to the level of automation of transport processes. In the efficiency research DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) method is applied, that was previously used in studies of the relative productivity in the industry. This method allows you to multicriteria process analysis based on the properly selected production system model processing input parameters on output. Conclusions from analysis can be a ground for making a decision on organizational or investment issues.

Digital information technology has become the nerve of information for industry-based companies. However, there are still data or information that retrieved manually, one of them is measurement of the human body dimension. The problem is seemed solved by invention of digital anthropometer application. Yet, the application requires a further improvement especially in its accuracy and user interface. The improvement of accuracy quality of its measurement uses the capability process analysis method. As a result, the current Cp and Cpk is 0.26 and -0.209 while in the developed application is 2.56 and 1.218. Thus, the developed application is stated that quality of measurement increases to meet the criteria of good process capability. The user interface is improved based on the user voices. Data storage databases and percentile calculation in the application was added as one on the significant user-interface improvement.

The height of the fractured zone caused by coal mining is extremely significant for safely mining under water, water conservation, and gas treatment. At present, the common prediction methods of overburden fractured zone height are only applicable to thin and medium-thick coal seams, not suitable for thick and extra-thick coal seams. In order to determine the overburden fractured zone distribution characteristics of extra-thick seam mining, failure process analysis method of overlying strata was proposed based on key strata theory. This method was applied to 15 m coal seam of Tongxin coal mine, and fractured zone height was determined to be 174 m for 8100 panel. EH4 electromagnetic image system and borehole televiewer survey were also conducted to verify the theory results. The distribution of the electrical conductivity showed that the failure height was 150–170 m. Observation through the borehole televiewer showed that the fractured zone height was 171 m. The results of the two field test methods showed that the fractured zone height was 150–171 m, and it was consistent with the theory calculation results. Therefore, this failure process analysis method of overlying strata can be safely used for other coal mines.

Based on continuous mapping, a kind of analytical method for nonlinear problems, namely, the Process Analysis Method, is described and used to solve two-dimensional nonlinear progressive gravity waves. Solutions at the fourth order of approximation are obtained and compared with Stokesian waves. In contrast to the perturbation expansion method, the Process Analysis Method is independent of small or great parameters and therefore can solve nonlinear problems without small or great parameters.

According to population growth and consequently students growth and on the other hand lack of educational spaces, imbalance in supply (students) and demand (educational centers), it causes high population density of students in classrooms, beyond standards. In addition, imbalanced population density causes accessibility problems to these centers and also spending a lot of students’ time and money. The mentioned problems are due to weaknesses in the construction of schools in appropriate locations. Lots of urban dilemmas such as traffic, pollution, Social and cultural issues and security can reduce by choosing appropriate location for construction of schools. There are different methods for determining the appropriate locations for the construction of schools, among which the most important is the hierarchical process analysis method. In this study, using Fuzzy logic in the geographical information system (GIS), space Distribution and Location of deployment and Functional radius of the elementary schools in the Qazvin city have investigated and also in the network analysis method, areas out of schools coverage have been specified. Then, using Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process, layers, criteria and also effective sub-criteria in choosing location of elementary schools, weighted and combined each other and appropriate and inappropriate locations for construction of elementary schools, especially in areas that placed out of schools coverage, have obtained. Results show that the elementary schools of the Qazvin city aren’t enough for covering all of the total area, and some of the northern, eastern and western neighborhoods despite having the necessary student density, are deprived of having elementary school and also are out of the coverage of existing schools.
