AbstractThis work presents results of investigations of low temperature magnetic properties of microwires, fabricated by the Ulitovsky–Taylor method from Fe–Si–B alloy. Influence of the glass coating presence on the magnetostatic properties was shown at room temperature and at 2 K. Conclusions about the peculiarities of temperature dependence of the magnetic moment, measured in low and high magnetic fields (10 Oe–5 kOe) in the temperature range from 2 to 300 K for a sample with partially reduced fabricated processinduced stress by removing the glass, were made.

Single crystals of solid solutions (MnIn2S4)1-х–(AgIn5S8)х have been grown with the Bridgeman method in the whole range of temperatures. The crystals structure and composition were determined. The study of the given single crystals in the temperature range 2–300 К and magnetic fields to 10 T was carried out. It is set that the given crystals are paramagnetic in the whole studied range. The specific magnetic moment increases with the temperature.

Abstract The article presents the results of measurements of magnetic properties of samples spolic technosols (alcalic/hyperartefactic) form the landfill of black nickel mud at Sered’, Slovakia. We measured the dependence of magnetic moment as a function of temperatures (240-340 K) and applied magnetic fields up to 7.2 MA/m (90 kOe). We observed at room temperature the tendency to saturation of magnetic moment. The temperature dependences showed possible ferromagnetic behaviour.

The magnetic properties of U 1-x Dy x Al y Ni 5-y (y=0,1) systems were investigated in the 2(5)–600 K temperature range and for fields up to 80 kOe. The systems having x≥0.2 are magnetically ordered with low transition temperatures and magnetization mainly due to the Dy contribution. The nickel exhibits magnetic moments, very weak in the low temperature range and well-defined effective moments over transition temperatures. The nickel behavior is discussed in terms of the spin fluctuation model.

We have extended the low temperature magnetic anisotropy measurements on single crystals of zinc containing up to 600 p.p.m. manganese from magnetic fields of 9 to 56 kG. The crystal field splitting parameters determined at low magnetic fields also characterizes the magnetic anisotropy at high magnetic fields. Manganese–manganese interaction effects are observed in the magnetic anisotropy at manganese concentrations greater than 300 p.p.m. Low temperature magnetic anisotropy measurements on single crystals of zinc containing up to 164 p.p.m. chromium are reported and indicate a crystal field splitting of 0.16 K for the chromium ion.

Chlorine n.q.r, in 2,6-dichlorophenol has been investigated at temperatures from 77 K to room temperature. Two resonance lines due to chemically inequivalent sites have been observed throughout this temperature range. Torsional frequencies of the molecule have been calculated at temperatures from 77 to 300 K according to Bayer's theory and Brown's method. Also the temperature coefficients of the torsional frequencies have been calculated.

The c-axis tunneling properties of both pristine Bi2212 and its HgBr 2 intercalate have been measured in the temperature range 4.2-250 K. Lithographically patterned 7-10 unit-cell heigh mesa structures on the surfaces of these single crystals were investigated. Clear SIS-like tunneling curves for current applied in the c-axis direction have been observed. The dynamic conductance d I/ d V(V) shows both sharp peaks corresponding to a superconducting gap edge and a dip feature beyond the gap, followed by a wide maximum, which persists up to a room temperature. Shape of the temperature dependence of the c-axis resistance does not change after the intercalation suggesting that a coupling between CuO 2-bilayers has little effect on the pseudogap.

AbstractThe two line 35Cl NQR spectrum of 4,5-dichloroimidazole was measured in the temperature range 77≦ T/K ≦ 389. The temperature dependence of the NQR frequencies conforms with the Bayer model and no phase transition is indicated in the curves v ( 35Cl)= f(T). Also the temperature coefficients of the 35Cl NQR frequencies are "normal". At 77 K the 35Cl NQR frequencies are 37.409 MHz and 36.172 MHz and at 389 K 35.758 MHz and 34.565 MHz. The compound crystallizes at room temperature with the tetragonal space group D44-P41212, Z = 8 molecules per unit cell; at 295 K : a = 684.2(5) pm, c = 2414.0(20) pm. The relations between the crystal structure and the NQR spectrum are discussed.
