Cloud computing is a new computing model which is widely emerging technology in the recent years is adopted by most of the IT companies and other organizations. Cloud computing enables individuals and organizations to gain access to huge computing resources without capital investment. Cloud computing is a set of IT services that are provided to a customer over a network on a leased basis and with the ability to scale up or down their service requirements. Cloud computing is the internet depend technology which is providing the services to user, small and large organization on demand. Cloud computing stored the user data and maintain in the data canter of cloud provider like Amazon, Oracle, Google, Microsoft etc. However, the cloud environment is considered untrusted as it is accessed through Internet. Therefore people have security concerns on data stored in cloud environment. The major concern of cloud environment is security during upload the data on cloud server.

This chapter describes how security plays a vital role in cloud computing, as the name itself specifies the data can be stored from any place and can be owned by anyone. Even though the cloud offers many benefits such as flexibility, scalability and agility, security issues are still backlog the cloud infrastructure. Much research is being done on cloud security equal to the scheduling problems in the cloud environment. The customers under the cloud providers are very concerned about their data, which has been stored in the cloud environment. In this regard, it is essential for a cloud provider to implement some powerful tools for security, to provide a secure cloud infrastructure to the customers. Generally speaking, there are some foundational needs to be attained and some actions to be combined to ensure data security in both cloud, as well as, non-cloud infrastructure. This book chapter concentrates only on the security issues, security measures, security mechanisms, and security tools of the cloud environment.

Cloud is considered as future of Information Technology. User can utilized the cloud on pay-as-you use basis. But many organizations are stringent about the adoption of cloud computing due to their concern regarding the security of the stored data. Therefore, issues related to security of data in the cloud have become very vital. Data security involves encrypting the data and ensuring that suitable policies are imposed for sharing those data. There are several data security issues which need to be addressed. These issues are: data integrity, data intrusion, service availability, confidentiality and non-repudiation. Many schemes have been proposed for ensuring data security in cloud environment. But the existing schemes lag in fulfilling all these data security issues. In this chapter, a new Third Party Auditor based scheme has been proposed for secured storage and retrieval of client's data to and from the cloud service provider. The scheme has been analysed and compared with some of the existing schemes with respect to the security issues. From the analysis and comparison it can be observed that the proposed scheme performs better than the existing schemes.

Cloud Computing (CC) is revolutionizing the methodology by which IT services are being utilized. It is being introduced and marketed with many attractive promises that are enticing to many companies and managers, such as reduced capital costs and relief from managing complex information technology infrastructure. However, along with desirable benefits come risks and security concerns that must be considered and addressed correctly. Thus, security issues must be considered as a major issue when considering Cloud Computing. This paper discusses Cloud Computing and its related concepts; highlights and categorizes many of the security issues introduced by the “cloud”; surveys the risks, threats, and vulnerabilities; and makes the necessary recommendations that can help promote the benefits and mitigate the risks associated with Cloud Computing.

As information and processes are migrating to the cloud, Cloud Computing is drastically changing IT professionals’ working environment. Cloud Computing solves many problems of conventional computing. However, the new technology has also created new challenges such as data security, data ownership and trans-code data storage. We discussed about Cloud computing security issues, mechanism, challenges that Cloud service providers and consumers face during Cloud engineering. Based on concerning of security issues and challenges, we proposed several encryption algorithms to make cloud data secure and invulnerable. We made comparisons among DES, AES, RSA and ECC algorithms to find combinatorial optimization solutions, which fit Cloud environment well for making cloud data secure and not to be hacked by attackers.

Cloud computing is a way to increase the capacity or add capabilities dynamically without investing in new infrastructure, training new personnel, or licensing new software. As information exchange plays an important role in today’s life, information security becomes more important. This paper is focused on the security issues of cloud computing and techniques to overcome the data security issue. Before analyzing the security issues, the definition of cloud computing and brief discussion to under cloud computing is presented. The various components that affect the security of the cloud and the problems faced by cloud service provider have been discussed in this paper.

Cloud computing is an engineering discipline which is concerned with all aspect of storing and sharing useful data. Today, millions of users are able to upload and download useful information on cloud environment from anywhere at any time. Recently, many security issues are encountered in real time applications with a great loss of data and information. Subsequently, many research works have been done to highjack the security issues of cloud computing. Still, all feasible solutions may not applicable at all time and some practical situations. In this paper, we designed and implemented an ASCII based encryption technique that securely uploads, sharing the data on cloud framework with a minimum computational overhead and entropy. The proposed technique will increase the throughput of the system and it can be deployed on a cloud environment for sharing and securing useful data information

Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC) is a recent technological development, which has emerged from two popular technology trends; mobile computing and cloud. In essence it revolutionises the capabilities of mobile devices by integrating both storage and processing of the cloud environment with mobile computing and in doing so providing greater optimisation and operating power, allowing for transparent and seamless use of resources provided by the cloud. However, expanding the capability of resource constrained mobile devices in this manner comes at a price. There are many risks associated with the security of data within the cloud environment and as MCC essentially uses the cloud, it also inherits any security issues that are associated with cloud computing. The aim of this survey is to identify potential data security issues, and analyse and present some pioneering security mechanisms and finally suggest some future directions for better data security with MCC.

The aim of this paper is to propose a model to strengthen the security of key management in cloud computing, where the model is shared or entirely controlled by a non-trusted third party provider. Key management is not a straightforward matter for IT-teams, in addition to critical issues related to properly managing and securing the keys on providers’ infrastructures, they have to deal with concerns specific to multi-cloud key management. Hardware Security Module (HSM) solution that offers a secure on-premise encryption key management turned out be impracticable for widespread cloud deployment. HSM as a Service seems to be the best approach for key management in multi-cloud, but the service is wholly owned and managed by another cloud provider. In This paper, we present an efficient and secure cloud key management that fulfills the requirements of multi-cloud deployment. The proposed design splits the key into a blinded version of n shares that will be stored in encrypted format at the cloud provider side. To demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed design, we implement a fully featured prototype and evaluate its performance. Results analysis shows that the proposed design is highly efficient and can serve as a groundwork for using secret share as a way to protect keys in a multi-cloud environment.

For automation industry, Information Technology (IT) is an essential production factor, but also a major expense post. Because cloud computing promises to deliver IT services more flexibly and cost-efficiently, it for automation industry prospectively. However, given the high degree of regulation, concerns regarding security and compliance requirements arise. In this work, provide a theoretical analysis of security problems in the context of cloud computing. This analysis is complemented by the initial results of an ongoing case study concerning the practical relevance of these problems in the industry. The analysis confirms that security issues pose notable obstacles for the adoption of cloud computing in practice, but also points to appropriate countermeasures

In recent years, cloud computing has developed from the promising business concept that it used to be, to one of Information Technology (IT) industry's most developing section. Now that the world economy was hit by recession, the victims of this tragedy continually understand that by just outsourcing or tapping the cloud  resources, a package of virtualise, elastic, instant on-demand provision, and scalable; infrastructure, platform, and software can be access fast and easy inform of services at a negligible amount via the internet. However, as individuals and organizations embarked on the course of deploying their information and data into the cloud, anxieties are beginning to develop on whether the cloud environment is safe. This research provides an overview of the cloud deployment model, the services they offer and discusses the security issues and challenges of cloud computing in both data storage and virtual applications/servers.
