The Heart as the Image of Godby Erik Krebs JensenThe image of God in the heart and the heart as the image of God are at one and the same time the divine and the truly human in man. Since the Creation the image of God has been hidden in the human heart, and in the course of history it will be illuminated more and more until at the end of history it will be completely revealed. The image of God is a riddle for man. By feeling and understanding, that is, receiving impressions of other images of God (in nature, in poetry or of Christ) the image of God in the heart can be illuminated. This meeting of images happens through the living interplay of the word between heart and heart. The word with God’s Spirit is an image of God - it is in fact Christ Himself in His resurrected form, speaking to man. This word must be heard audibly for it to make an impression on the heart so that the Spirit can touch it and move it. For the heart is created precisely in order to be open to spirit (both God’s and the Devil’s), and where the heart does not harden against it but is stirred by hearing God’s word, there the image of God in the heart’s core is revived, and this echoes in the mouth of man as a confession in a word of faith, hope or love. In this echo (an echo of God’s word) it is revealed to God and men and to man himself that he has adopted God’s word. Grundtvig puts it as strongly as this: God has reincarnated Himself. Every time a man hears God’s word, Jesus is reconceived, and He is reborn in the echoing word and thereby revealed to the world. This revelation of Christ in the word on the lips of men is an expression of God’s continuing creation and activity. God’s creative deed is always the same two-pronged action with one and the same result. At the Creation God made man out of clay and breathed His Spirit into him so that man could talk to God. In the fullness of time God made His power overshadow Mary and His Spirit descend upon Jesus, so that Jesus could talk to God on earth. (Jesus healed by touch and by speaking words). At baptism the sign of the cross is made and the child is baptized, thereby giving it the child’s right to pray, to confess and praise. Where God’s word touches the heart and the Spirit captivates the heart, and the heart responds with a “Yes and Amen!” as an echo of what it has heard, there God’s creative presence in the word is experienced. And in the heart’s core the image of God is illuminated by the Spirit through the meeting between God’s image and its imprint.

The article presents a brief history of the formation of cartographic sources which make the atlases of the Tobolsk cartographer S. U. Remezov, as well as the circumstances of the creation of the atlases themselves. Based on the analysis of three atlases and General maps ofSiberiakept in the Hermitage collection, the authors define the habitats of the peoples of the Kuznetsk district, which paid tribute to the Russian Tsar, and the neighboring Turkic peoples, who were not Russian tributaries. The geographic mapping of yasak townships and resettlement of tax-paying people in the middlebasinofUpper Obare discussed here in detail. The article features the geography of the tributaries in theUpper Obregion. The authors give a complex picture of the distribution of influences between two neighboring states –Russiaand Oyratia. The results of the study are reflected on a specially compiled historical map. The map includes a complete list of the Turkic and Mongolian peoples of theUpper Ob, whose habitats are marked on the drawings created or copied by Semyon Remezov in late XVII – early XVIII centuries.

This publication provides an overview of the life and scientifi activities of Panagiotes K. Chrestou, one of the great Orthodox scientists in Greece in the 20th century. Professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Minister of Education of the Hellenic Republic, employee of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, researcher, translator and publisher of patristic texts, patrologist - thisis not a complete list of positions and activities that P. К. Chrestou occupied and devoted himself entirely to. The article presents the biography of the Greek professor, and also makes an attempt to assess his contribution to the development of Orthodox science in Greece and familiarization of Greek theological schools with the legacy of theologians of the Russian emigration.

The Basis of Faithby Henning SørensenIn the period 1811-23 Grundtvig is forced into a continuous process of differentiation in the Bible in an attempt to find the Word of God that is the basis of faith. But in the course of the Church year 1822-23 this process is interrupted by Grundtvig’s discovery of the power of the audible word, a discovery that the audible word is better suited to being the word by which faith is born, fed, strengthened, and therefore, grows. The word of man is not just a sound, but can be “tuned” to have a spiritual content. In other words, faith is born and strengthened by the word being heard, and faith in this audible word implies that it seeks to be professed. The unparalleled discovery in 1825 is therefore already being prepared for in 1823, even though right up to the 9th Sunday in Trinity 1825 Grundtvig may be retaining the written word as the basis of faith, in an attempt to defend himself against unbelievers. In 1832 Grundtvig reaches a new understanding of mankind that goes against his Lutheran origins. Recreation must now start from what is created by the Creation and what has fallen of Man at the Fall. This Man is capable of believing and verbalising this faith. The life of Jesus was a divine life lived under the laws of human nature. This life can be linked to Man’s by Man being baptized with Jesus’ baptism and thereby sharing in the blessing that was heard at His baptism. With regard to this starting-point, that is, baptism, Jesus is born and grows as a child together with Mankind to consummation.Since Man was created by a Creative Word, he should remain true to the purpose of creation through faith. But Man doubted, the Fall occurred, and faith became blind. It shrank until it was no more than a vague memory of the original life in God’s image. Through re-creation the heart hears a Word that corresponds to the original Word of Creation, and the faith created at the Creation is re-created into a Christian faith through the Word of faith that illuminates the truth. This does not mean, however, that the faith given to all people at the Creation has no further purpose. For that is precisely the faith which is the source of the Christian faith, and this faith will still be a prerequisite if men are to believe one another and human life is to be lived at all.The blind and the seeing faith, like the fallen and the raised man, are therefore of the same nature. But the seeing faith knows where truth is to be found and will be able to believe this truth if it can be helped towards it.

Structural synthesis of kinematic chains usually involves the creation of a complete list of kinematic chains, followed by a isomorphism test to discard duplicate chains. A significant unsolved problem in structural synthesis is the guaranteed precise elimination of all isomorphs. Many methods are available to the kinematician to detect isomorphism among chains and inversions but each has its own shortcomings. Most of the study to detect isomorphism is based on link-adjacency matrices or their modification but the study based on loops is very scanty although it is very important part of a kinematic chain.  Using the loop concept a method is reported in this paper to reveal simultaneously chain is isomorphic, link is isomorphic, and type of freedom with no extra computational effort. A new invariant for a chain, called the chain loop string is developed for a planar kinematic chain with simple joints to detect isomorphism among chains. Another invariant called the link adjacency string is developed, which is a by-product of the same method to detect inversions of a given chain. The proposed method is also applicable to know the type of freedom of a chain in case of multi degree of freedom chains. [S1050-0472(00)70801-4]

This paper is divided into three sections. First, it gives a brief  introductory of the Jews. Second, it explains the process of  the creation of  human. Third, it elaborates the basis of  human behavior in the Jewish, like morality, suffering , and the ‘chosen people.’ In terms of  the creation of  human beings, Judaism states that human is made of the dust which is then fulfilled by the spirit through his nose. Human is created in God’s image. It is not only his soul, but also his body, represents the symbol of  God. The Hebrew Bible (Holy Book), in general, vastly embraces the doctrines of morality that should be used as the basis of  the behavior of  the Jews. This is particularly apparent from the teachings contained in the Ten Commandments. In addition, it also considers the chosen people as a liability, rather than an opportunity to obtain particular privileges; thus, they were elected to serve God and to undergo several sufferings in implementing the service.

Abstract Tomasello offers a compelling account of the emergence of humans’ sense of obligation. We suggest that more needs to be said about the role of affect in the creation of obligations. We also argue that positive emotions such as gratitude evolved to encourage individuals to fulfill cooperative obligations without the negative quality that Tomasello proposes is inherent in obligations.
