The speaking capability of the second-semester students in STKIP Siliwangi BANDUNG can still be improved since they have the chance to change. The college location, the lecturers, and the students’ capability itself enable them to get the best result of the study. However, they still speak with hesitation since they feel not confidence to speak, or in the other way they lack motivation. Therefore, this study aims to improve the students speaking skill through Task-based Instruction. This method relays on the use of task to gather students and they have to accomplish the task with their own way. This study consists of two cycles, each cycle consists of a pre-test, two meetings treatment, and post-test. From the data taken, the result tends to be good. There is an improvement in both the students’ ability and motivation. The improvement can be seen on their increasing on their speaking score and in their way, they perform their speaking. In conclusion, a task can help students to study by their own. It works when it was implemented on the second students of STKIP Siliwangi Bandung.Keywords: Action Research, Speaking Skill, Task-Based Instruction

<p><em>The aim of this study is to investigate the extent to which task-based instruction affecting EFL learners’ performance. This paper covers the impact of task approach on EFL learners’ performance. It shades light on the relevant literature reviewed and studies on TBLT. At the same time, t</em><em>he speaking skill and s</em><em>peaking sub-skills are introduced as a base for t</em><em>eaching and developing speaking activities. On the other hand, the paper reflects on implementing task-based instruction and the p</em><em>rinciples for implementation by drawing a framework for implementation, and factors affecting implementation of TBI. On the above findings, the researcher recommends that teaching instruction should be given more attention in EFL classes in the light of using task-based approach. Also the researcher suggests that further research is needed to explore more in the effectiveness of task-based programs on EFL learner’s performance as well as its fluency.</em></p>

This research was conducted in order to improve students’ speaking skill by using digital storytelling at SMA Swasta Palapa Medan. Digital storytelling is the combination of recount text, sound effects, music, images, videos and InShot Application. This is Classroom Action Research (henceforth, CAR). The research subjects of this CAR are the eleventh grade students of SMA Swasta Palapa Medan in Class MIPA in the Academic Year of 2020/2021. The research findings showed that teaching speaking skill through digital storytelling at SMA Swasta Palapa Medan could improve the students’ speaking skill. The result of each test showed that the students’ mean score in pre-test is 55.74 with 11% of the students got score ≥70, in formative test the mean score is 64,44 with 37% of the students got score ≥70, and in post-test the mean score is 81,11 with 93% of the students got score ≥70. The writer concluded that the use of digital storytelling could improve the speaking skill of SMA Swasta Palapa Medan. On the other hand, the students’ responses towards the method of the teaching sound good because above 80% of the students are interested, motivated and enthusiastic in learning English speaking skill through the use of digital storytelling.

The research was pointed to progress the students’ speaking abilities of the tenth of  SMA Negeri 1 Pejagoan by actualizing the role-play technique. It was carried out based on the strategy that had been arranged some time recently. The observation was action research. It was conducted in three cycles with one assembly in the to begin with cycle and 2 gatherings in the moment and third cycle. The subjects of this inquire about were 32 students of lesson tenth grade at SMA Negeri 1 Pejagoan. The subjective information were collected by watching the educating and learning handle, and meeting the students, the instructor and the collaborators. The information were in the shape of field notes, meet transcripts, and photos. In the interim, the quantitative information were collected through evaluating the students’ speaking execution by comparing the implies of the pretest and post test. The information were the students’ speaking ability. The strategy of the inquire about comprised of surveillance, arranging, acting, and reflecting. The comes about of this inquire about appeared that the utilize of Part Playing procedure was effective to move forward the students’ talking capacity. Based on the subjective information, the utilize of classroom English made a difference the understudies to be more recognizable with English. Abstract   This classroom action research was done in the area of speaking.  It was found that the eleventh grade students of SMAN 8 Denpasar got difficulty  in communicating and delivering ideas. The objective of this study was to figure out whether or not speaking  skill of the eleventh-grade students of SMAN 8 Denpasar in academic year 2017/2018 could be improved  through  British  Parliamentary  Style Debate Technique.  The research was undertaken based on the result of the interview with the teacher who taught the students. Pre-test was then carried out, and it was found that the subjects’ speaking skill was low. In order to settle down the problem, British Parliamentary Style Debate Technique was implemented as the technique to improve the subjects’ speaking skill. The study was conducted in two cycles. Furthermore, the result of post- test in each cycle showed that there were significant improvements on the subjects’ speaking skill after British  Parliamentary  Style  Debate technique  was applied. After the treatment of pre-test, the reflection or post-test was administered.   The mean figure of the reflection or post-test scores obtained by the subjects under study in cycle I was 70.52. and in cycle  II  was  78.34. In addition, based on the data of the questionnaire, the subjects’ responses towards the application of the technique was positive.  Therefore, it could be concluded that speaking skill of the eleventh- grade students of SMAN 8 Denpasar in academic year 2017/2018 could be improved through British Parliamentary Style Debate Technique. The study of this research was to figure out the improvement of speaking skill of the eighth grade students of SMP Budi UtamaKerobokan in academic year 2019/2020 through inside outside circle with video. The subjects were the eighth grade students of SMP Budi UtamaKerobokan in academic year 2019/2020. The passing grade of the eight grade students is 77. The design was classroom action research that carried out through inside outside circle with video technique in two cycles, on each cycle consisted of two sessions. The obtained data were collected by administering the instruments to the subjects, then qualitatively from the questionnaire. The result in each cycle showed that the pre-test was 65.5, than there was significant improvement in post-test 1 was 74.8, and last on post-test 2 was 82.7. It means that 75% of the subjects pass the passing grade. The result of the questionnaire showed that 99% of the students agree with implementation of this technique. In short, the present classroom action research showed that speaking skill of the eighth grade students of SMP Budi UtamaKerobokan in academic year 2019/2020 can be improved through inside outside circle with video.

Communication is very significant for human being because there is hardly any human activity without communication. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was conducted to improve the eleventh grade students’ speaking skill by using audio visual aids in SMA Santo Petrus Medan in the Academic Year of 2018/2019. The results of the study showed significant improvement of the students’ speaking skill and responses after being taught by using audio visual aids is very good because the students felt enthusiastics and motivated. The result of the test showed that the students’ mean score in pre-test is 51,97 with 8,82% of the students got score ≥ 75, in formative-test mean score is 60,70 with 14,70% of the students got score ≥ 75 and in post-test mean score is 75,35 with 44,11% of the students got score ≥ 75. Based on the results, it can be concluded that using audio visual aids as a learning a instrument gives the improvement to students’ speaking skill.

This research was conducted in order to improve students’ Reading Comprehension on Narrative Texts through ETR method and to know the students’ responses towards the learning reading comprehension through ETR method at SMA Swasta Palapa Medan. In conducting this research, the writer used Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research showed that teaching reading comprehension through ETR method at SMA Swasta Palapa Medan could improve their reading comprehension. The result of the test showed that the students’ mean score in pre-test is 51.59 with 4 students (13,79%) of the students got score ≥70, in formative test the mean score is 68.69 with 15 students (51,72%) of the students got score ≥70, and in post-test the mean score is 77.66 with 21 students (72,41%) of the students got score ≥70. The writer concluded that ETR method could improve the eleventh grade students’ reading comprehension on narrative texts of SMA Swasta Palapa Medan. On the other hand, the students’ responses towards the method of the teaching sound good because above 80% of the students are interested, motivated and understand the lesson with the ETR method.

<p>The research was done in August 2012 in SMPN 1 Geger Madiun. The subject of the study was the eight year students consisting of 20 students. It was a classroom action research. The researcher conducted the research in some steps for each cycle. There were planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. In collecting data, there were two kinds of data which were used in this study, the quantitative data and the qualitative data. The quantitative data were in the forms of students‟ scores. The data were students‟ scores from the beginning of the research to the end of the research. They came from the tests given. The qualitative data were collected by the following techniques: observations, interviews, and document analysis. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. It compares the score of the pretest to the score of the post test. The qualitative data were analyzed into data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing/ verification.</p><p>The research findings showed that by implementing the “Most Names” in the speaking class, there were some improvements which can be classified into three main points as follow: The improvement of students‟ speaking skill; The improvement of students‟ participation; The improvement of students‟ interest; And the improvement of students‟ motivation. For that reason, “Most Names” was able to stimulate students to speak English.</p><p>In conclusion, “Most Names” is able to improve students‟ speaking skill in class VIII/A.  However, “Most  Names” has  its  own  strength  and  weaknesses.  Most  Names stimulated students to be more active, interactive, and creative to speak English.</p>In short, it is recommended to the teachers to use “Most Names” to improve the students‟ speaking skill in English.

The aim of this research is to find out how the implementation of role plays can improve the students’ speaking skill of grade VII of MTs Mualimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in academic year 2011/2012 and how students respond to the use of role plays methods in teaching and learning process. This research is an action research. In this study the researcher uses action research theory proposed by Kemmis and McTaggart. The participants of the research are the students of grade VII of MTs Mualimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in academic year 2011/2012. The research instrument used by the writer is in the form of observation checklist and test. The data in the research are mainly gathered through the use of pre-test, observation, questionnaires, and post-test. After the data are collected, the researcher analyzes them. The researcher uses the pre-test as the basis for measuring the students’ reading skill. The finding of the research shows that the implementation of translation and discussion can improve students’ speaking skill of grade VII of MTs Muhammmadiyah Yogyakarta in academic year 2011/2012. In the pre-test result, in which they formerly did not learn using discussion and translation, the mean of the pre-test was 55.64. After they learnt English using discussion and translation, the mean of the post-test was 63.3. The students’ response was positive when role plays methods were applied in teaching speaking.

This Collaborative Classroom Action Research aimed at enhancing students’ speaking skill through the application of Circle Game. It was conducted in one cycle consisting of two meetings. The subject was the seventh of C class of SMPN 2 Alas Barat consisting of 22 students. The types of data were qualitative (acquiring observation during the learning process) and quantitative (speaking tests). The results qualitatively showed that the implementation of Circle Game enhanced the students’ speaking skills. Such improvement could be seen from their enthusiasm, their interesting feeling in various materials presented by the teacher, their active involvement. In the quantitative findings, the result also showed a higher value of the mean score of the post-test (77.34) rather than the pre-test (75.75). In conclusion, the use of Circle Game can improve students’ speaking skill.
