The following work addresses trichotillomania and dermatillomania, both symptoms of the impulses control, in a 11 years old girl, who courses the sixth grade in a private elementary school and with a diagnose of first degree autism spectrum disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as a comorbidity. The objective was to reduce the frequency of tearing her hair and the skin imperfections in the school context throughout an intervention based on cognitive behavioral techniques. Within the used methodology to analyze the case an exhaustive evaluation of the patient has been performed using grade observation records, before and during the intervention period in order to systematize the whole process. The intervention techniques used where Token Economy and self-instruction. The results show a progressive improvement of the symptoms, reflected in the diminish of frequency of the behaviors registered that were conducted. In spite of the limited time for the intervention for these kinds of behaviors and the base line phase, it was possible to get to know the girl well and establish bonds with her, in spite of her condition, which can be noted in a better adaptation on her school context. This work seeks to favor the increase of research on this disorder since there is information related on the etiological factors, but it still is not enough, likewise, the related information on these disorders and its possible comorbidities is useful to continue with the advance on the treatments in this area.

This article compares bilingual education mode in two countries: China and the US. For China, the bilingual education been analysed includes mandarin and ethnic minority languages, Chinese and English. Extant research on bilingual education tends to focus on one country whilst there is a paucity of papers comparing various kinds of bilingual education. In this paper, by using the systematic review method, the differences and similarities of bilingual education mode in these two countries are been discussed and the tensions, as well as opportunities of bilingual education behind these two countries is explored. This paper ends a call for non-English native speaking EFL/ESL teachers to see their first language as an asset for developing bilingual education worldwide.

As one of the most commonly utilised assessment means of the English language, IELTS is attracting a sheer volume of test candidates in China, which unambiguously has social implications in China. This article briefly discussed the social impact of IELTS in China, including shift in profession, life-changing potential and test anxiety. At the end of this paper, there is a call for more body of knowledge on impacts of international examination such as IELTS towards social and economy in China as currently there is a dearth of studies in this topic.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the conceptual content of pedagogical differentiation in school education, as it emerges from the descriptions and discussion of authors, researchers and experts through content analysis of 22 publications in the Greek and international literature in various scientific texts, books, journal articles and conferences. From the analysis that was performed, twelve dimensions or otherwise characteristics of pedagogical differentiation emerged that presented the highest frequency of occurrence and were included in four broad categories that are: a. “processes”, b. “context”, c. “the learning outcomes” and d. “assessment”. The results of the research show that in secondary education the dimension with the highest frequency is the modification of the supportive learning context, followed by meeting the needs of the students and the continuous improvement of the learning for all students. From the publications studied on pedagogical differentiation, which referred to primary and secondary education together, it appears that the most frequent dimensions are the modification of the supportive learning context and meeting the needs of the students. Dimensions with the lowest frequency of occurrence in secondary education include the possibility of learning option / multiple options, the development of procedural knowledge skills and continuous assessment, while in the publications for primary and secondary education together, the dimensions of development of life skills and continuous assessment were not identified.

Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (abbreviated to MALL) has proved to be both useful and efficacious for language learning. Mobile applications (apps) can help learners meet their needs for updating information and skills and learning without the constraints of time and place. In our current informational era, mobile learning has been more and more adopted in English teaching. Some mobile apps can also provide potential possibilities for foreign language learners to practice language skills on their smart mobile phones and tablet PCs. A lot of applications have been created and used for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning.Mastering vocabulary is an integral aspect of English learning, and an essential way to learn English vocabulary is via mobile learning apps. This study evaluates the four vocabulary learning apps which have become popularized in China: baicizhan, Youdao, Hujiang Happy Dictionary, and Momo word. Through a process of analysis and comparison, the affordances and limitations of these different English vocabulary apps in English learning will be examined. Then I would like to examine how mobile apps can be incorporated into English language teaching and learning and what kinds of tasks can be employed to improve EFL learning for learners.

With the adoption of RFID in library, many technical and management problems occur, such as the unmet needs of library due to insufficient RFID device function, the standards to be unified, the invasion of privacy, the lack of supervision on book damage and the mis-shelving. This paper puts forward new methods to promote the application of RFID in library based on the analysis of the management service mode of library.

Consumers respond to their lack of satisfaction with service provision in a variety of ways. For instance, research findings indicates that consumers’ response options to service dissatisfaction is related to customer loyalty, which may impact their future repurchase intentions (Janjua, 2017). The current study investigates the impact of loyalty, and its cultural understanding, on dissatisfaction response styles of university students. In particular, it compares the variations in response options between Anglo-Saxon Australian students and international Middle Eastern students, attending Australian universities and other tertiary higher education Australian institutions, in an attempt to explore the impact of culture on dissatisfaction, and the resultant response options chosen by students, as guided by culturally defined perceptions and values (Newsome & Cooper, 2016). Findings indicate that there are significant variations in terms of the degree of ethnic loyalty and the response options that students engage in as a reaction to educational service dissatisfaction, mostly attributable to differences in cultural values. The contributions of this study are three-fold. First, the current research study further develops our understanding of cultural loyalty and its impact on students’ future repurchase intentions. Secondly, it provides an understanding of the dissatisfaction response styles of university students coming from different ethnic backgrounds. Finally, this study further contributes to our understanding of the relationship between students’ ethnic backgrounds and their respective repurchase decisions.

“Education, therefore, is a process of living and not a preparation for future living. John DeweyThe current study examines the impact of John Dewey’s democratic educational principles on the recent educational reforms in New South Wales, Australia, using data collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews, with open-ended questions, as part of case studies designed for this purpose. The participants in this study are all Australian educators (n=60), undertaking full-time and part-time academic posts, involving learning and teaching activities at universities and other higher educational institutions/providers in Sydney, Australia. As part of the case studies, the individual, personal, and professional teaching and learning journeys of the educators are sketched in details in relation to John Dewey’s four (4) key democratic educational reformative principles. Finally, this research study concludes by providing a realistic response to the following question: Given the current liberal and relatively democratic educational system in New South Wales, are the Australian educators truly given the opportunity to create a positive and constructive future vision for Australia, in general, and the Australian graduates, in particular. The current study further provides a realistic and clear-cut description of the hurdles facing the current educational system in New South Wales, Australia.

International students attending schools of business at Western universities encounter various interrelated academic, language, cultural and socio-emotional challenges that impact their educational performance and success in their respective study programs, thus, shape their future professional prospects. The purpose of this paper is three-fold. First, develop a better understanding of the cultural and socio-emotional experiences of international Middle Eastern students attending American, British, and Australian universities in 2018, 2019, and early 2020. Secondly, find ways in which American, British, and Australian higher education providers can enhance their efforts in meeting the cultural and social-emotional needs of their international Middle Eastern students. Thirdly, discuss the academic and language experiences of international Middle Eastern students attending schools of business at Western universities in the above mentioned three countries. To this end, case studies have been designed for this purpose, where data is collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews. Accordingly, this study is guided by a series of research questions, as opposed to hypothesis testing. The participants involved in this study are all full-time international Middle Eastern students (n=90), undertaking their programs of study at both the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels at higher education institutions/providers in the three major world leaders in international education.

Variance and standard deviation, as a kind of discrete function, are an important content in high school teaching, and they are widely used in data statistics. For high school students, they have difficulty understanding abstract concepts such as stability, volatility, and degree of dispersion when they are first exposed to discrete functions. In actual teaching, you can apply “bullseye chart” to “variance” teaching, and use abstract concept diagrams. Demonstration helps high school students to intuitively understand the concept of “variance” and the nature of dispersion.
