Wealthy Watches Inc.: The Substantive Testing of Accounts Receivable in the Evolving Audit Environment

Substantive testing of accounts receivable through confirmations is an established and required audit procedure. However, the technology used to perform portions of this work is evolving. This case exposes students to the testing of accounts receivable while introducing them to audit-related technologies (such as Interactive Data Extraction and Analysis (IDEA) software and robotic process automation (RPA)) used in practice. In this case, students 1) evaluate a client-provided data file, 2) select a sample of customer invoices using IDEA, 3) obtain audit evidence from their firm’s RPA software and evaluate the evidence for the identification of exceptions, 4) project any misstatements from the sample to the population, and 5) document their conclusions. This case helps students develop a greater awareness of technologies used in audit practice. The case also allows students to practice skepticism, apply professional judgment, and hone their business writing skills by documenting their results in a professional memo.

In today’s world, every individual wish for a house that suits their lifestyle and provides amenities according to their needs and budget. On today’s world prices of houses are keep on changing very frequently which proves that house prices are often overstated. There are various factors that must be taken into deliberation for predicting house prices such as number of rooms, carpet area, and other basic local amenities. By using XGBoost, Light GBM and CatBoost Boosting algorithm to predict house prices based on real-time data which is extracted using Robotic Process Automation. Automate the tasks of data extraction can be done by Robotic Process Automation. The data generated by RPA is inconsistent, hence data is get cleaned and made consistent before feeding to appropriate Machine Learning model. After data cleaning process model is created and accuracy is get achieved [1].

The study provides knowledge on the adoption of the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technology during the COVID-19 pandemic in 110 Polish service companies. As this research was the first of its kind in Poland, the objectives of the CAWI survey were to identify the technology features of the RPA technology and the related determinants and barriers influencing the adoption of the RPA as well as to determine correlations between them. Moreover, the statistical analyses involved considering whether there were differences in the evaluation of individual RPA technology features, mainly in terms of perceived usefulness, ease of use, security and functionality. The results of the study show that almost 60% of the respondents indicated that robotization tools allowed maintaining continuity of business processes during the pandemic. The highest rated were features related to usefulness of the RPA technology. Furthermore, the analysis pointed to the most frequently indicated barriers to technology implementation that were related to nonoptimized, nonstandardized and non-digitized processes with a large number of exceptions. The study contributes to scientific knowledge and has practical implications for process automation decision-makers concerned with the adoption of the Robotic Process Automation technology. The obtained results can help them to understand the potential drivers of and barriers to the adoption of software robots by enterprises and may be an important determinant for companies’ managers in the field of implementing such solutions.

Integrating livestock management with the required devices and sensors is now seen as a critical factor in the agricultural sector’s long-term success. The findings revealed that the agricultural business sector is open to implementing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions, so the aim of this paper is to determine how advantageous it is for Romanian farmers to invest in a project that employs smart cattle farming methods that incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and the Internet of Things (IOT). An unstructured interview was used to gather empirical evidence during a focus group meeting. Analyzing the selected primary performance metrics, it was projected that the farm’s profitability would increase by 19 percent, productivity would increase by 21 percent, and the farm’s environmental impact would decrease by 22 percent. Automation and remote work would help minimize the farm’s worker burden while also making control panels, decision-making files, and data analysis more available. In order for the domain to be as prosperous as possible, farmers must be made aware of the benefits of using these emerging technologies for closing the gap between farmers and Information Technology (IT) solution providers, and this can be accomplished through continuous training for both farmers and their technology vendors.
