Although enterprise architecture is evolving into a multiple billion-dollar business, it has received limited attention in the accounting information systems literatureRecently, The Hartford implemented a unique and robust approach that used Kaplan and Norton’s well known “strategy maps” as part of the enterprise architecture process to transform the finance department and embed strategy into accounting and finance.  The Hartford developed a strategy map and used that map as the basis of enterprise architecture integration. The process generated a creative future state that included a linear flow of information that mirrored the information life cycle, while providing a “single source of truth” archive for financial information in order to redesign the finance function to attain “high performance finance.”  In so doing, the paper investigates a unique approach, an “innovative practice,” that allows grounding accounting and financial information systems in an organization’s strategy formulation process.

ABSTRACT: How does technology maturity and adoption affect samples, research issues, and use of methodologies in information systems? What is a source of some research issues in strategic and emerging technologies? This paper addresses these questions and others using some frameworks generated by a well-known corporate research group. Gartner Group has been an icon to its corporate clients. However, Gartner has received only limited attention by academics. This paper examines three related frameworks used by Gartner for analyzing information systems (IS) and accounting information systems (AIS) research. Although researchers have previously examined the adoption curve, they generally have ignored the impact of the technology maturity curve and the interaction of the two curves. The paper generates a number of findings, including the finding that where a technology is on the maturity curve limits and facilitates the type of research questions that can be addressed regarding that technology. In addition, Gartner’s “strategic technologies” can provide a basis for understanding which technologies are likely to be appropriate for analysis by researchers.

Financial information system is an information system that provides information to individuals or groups of people, both inside and outside the company that contains financial problems and information about the flow of money for users in the company. Financial information systems are used to solve financial problems in a company, by meeting three financial principles: fast, safe, and inexpensive.Quick principle, the intention is that financial information systems must be able to provide the required data on time and can meet the needs. The Safe Principle means that the financial information system must be prepared with consideration of internal controls so that company assets are maintained. The Principle of Inexpensive, the intention is that the cost of implementing a financial information system must be reduced so that it is relatively inexpensive. Therefore we need technology media that can solve financial problems, and produce financial information to related parties quickly, safely and cheaply. One example of developing information technology today is computer technology and internet. Starting from financial problems and technological advances, the authors make a website-based financial management application to facilitate the parties that perform financial management and supervision.Method of development application program is used Waterfall method, with the following stages: Software Requirement Analysis, Software Design, Program Code Making, Testing, Support, Maintenance.
