Abstract Purpose To describe the cross-cultural adaptation of the Quality of Diagnoses, Interventions and Outcomes (Q-DIO) Instrument into the Slovene language. Methods Based on general international guidelines, a six-step process of localization to translate and adjust the instrument from English into the Slovene language was used. Content validity was quantified based on an agreement of eight experts. The instrument was tested using a sample of 140 nursing documentations from two Slovenian tertiary hospitals. Results 26 of 29 items showed an excellent content validity index ranging from 0.857 to 1.000, and a modified kappa index above 0.856. The content validity indexes of the three remaining items adjusted based on experts’ comments were subsequently estimated at 1.000. Construct validity was significantly different between the two groups of documentations. The Cronbach coefficient for the whole questionnaire was 0.860. Cronbach’s alpha if item deleted reamins above 0.80 for all items. The criteria for the difficulty grades of items and discrimination validity were acceptably met for more than 75% of items. Conclusion Based on the results of the study, it may be concluded that Q-DIO is a reliable instrument for measuring the quality of nursing documentation. The deviations in the results of some items are due to poor nursing documentation quality, and indicate that nursing classifications have not yet been fully implemented into practice in the study setting. Additional testing of the instrument is recommended.

Background: Completeness of documentation as a legal aspect and proof a nursing activity. Nothing documentation means nothing activity. Objective: The Purpose of research to identify the legal aspect and completeness of nursing documentation after applying electronic nursing documentation. Methods: Report study approach and using pre and post-test with the control group. Thirty Four documentation collected using consecutive sampling on one-week observation before and after using electronic nursing information. The research compared the legal aspect and completeness of data conducted before and after the implementation of the new system. Results: The study showed improvement of the legal aspects increased by 50% (4,40 to 8,00) and completeness documentation by 10.39%  (43,00 to 49,00) after used of a system.   Conclusion: Nursing Electronic Documentation improved legal aspect, completeness nursing and enhance the quality of nursing care. Recommendation: Electronic nursing documentation can be done to support and increase the quality of nursing.

Background and Purpose: Quality of nursing care measurement is essential in critical care units. The aim of this study was to develop a scale to measure the quality of nursing care in intensive care units (ICUs). Methods: The 68 items of nursing care standards in critical care settings were explored in a literature review. Then, 30 experts evaluated the items’ content validity index (CVI) and content validity ratio (CVR). Items with a low CVI score (<0.78) and low CVR score (<0.33) were removed from the scale. Results: The 50 items remained in the scale. The Scale level-CVI and Scale level-CVR were 0.898 and 0.725, respectively. Conclusion: The nursing care scale in ICU (Quality of Nursing Care Scale-ICU) that was developed in this research had acceptable CVI and CVR.

Background: Nurse-nurse collaboration increases occupational satisfaction and the health care quality, decreases medical errors. Aim: This research was performed for the adaptation to Turkish of Nurse – Nurse Collaboration Scale to determine the collaboration level between nurses. Methods: The research was planned methodologically (N=496) to test validity and reliability of “Nurse-nurse collaboration scale”. Original scale consists of 35 item and 5 sub-dimensions (problem solving, communication, process sharing, coordination and professionalism). The research was performed in one public, one university and four private hospitals. Content validity, construct validity and internal consistence were used to evaluate scale. Results: Scale's content validity index was 0.98, Cronbach α reliability coefficient was 0.93, α values in sub-dimensions were respectively 0,75, 0,71, 0,80, 0,78 and 0,93. Turkish version of the scale was consisted of 26 items and 5 subscales. Conclusion: It is reported that nurse-nurse collaboration scale is validated and reliable. Nurse-nurse collaboration directly affects the quality of nursing services and nursing occupation.Collaboration is very important for nurses. If collaboration happens job satisfaction will be happen because of quality of care and patient safety increase.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze the quality of nursing documentation by comparing the periods before and after the preparation for the hospital accreditation, using the Quality of Nursing Diagnoses, Interventions and Outcomes - Brazilian version (Q-DIO- Brazilian version). Method: observational study of interventions conducted in a university hospital. Nursing documentation of 112 medical records for the period before and 112 for the period after the hospital accreditation were compared using the Q-DIO instrument - Brazilian version. Data were statistically analyzed. Results: there was a significant improvement in the quality of nursing documentation. When the total score of the instrument was evaluated, a significant improvement was observed in 24 out of the 29 items (82.8%). Conclusion: there was commitment to the shift of culture by means of the interventions carried out, which resulted in the conquest of the quality seal ensured by the Joint Commission International.
