ABSTRACT Objective: to describe the profile of nursing diagnoses evidenced in indigenous elderly in the community. Methods: this is a cross-sectional study, carried out with 51 indigenous elderly people of Potiguara ethnicity, through a nursing consultation. The clinical data, obtained from the consultation, were analyzed following Risner’s diagnostic reasoning process and the NANDA-I Taxonomy (2018-2020). For greater accuracy, the diagnoses obtained underwent peer review by a specialist. Results: 37 diagnoses were identified, such as Impaired dentition (98.0%), Risk for impaired skin integrity (66.7%), Chronic pain (64.7%), Risk for deficient fluid volume (54.9%), Impaired swallowing (45.1%), Impaired walking (45.1%), Disturbed sleep pattern (43.1%), Stress urinary incontinence (41.2%), Risk for falls (35.3%), and Sexual dysfunction (33.3%). Conclusion: the diagnoses identified were predominantly from Safety/protection domain and result from factors that negatively influence indigenous elderly’s functional capacity.

ABSTRACT Objective: to map and identify nursing diagnoses targeted at night care users in a Psychosocial Care Center according to NANDA-I Taxonomy. Method: this is a descriptive-exploratory study, of documentary research type of 319 records in medical records. It was held in a Psychosocial Care Center III in Goiás, from 2014-2018. Nursing diagnoses and records were extracted with non-standardized language. Results: 813 records of nursing diagnoses identified in 53 different titles, in 10 domains, were identified. The most frequent diagnosis was risk for self-extermination. The domain with the highest number of diagnostic records was activity/rest. There was a predominance of diagnoses focused on the problem. Final considerations: mapping contributes to the planning of evidence-based nursing interventions and to the strengthening of professional identity in mental health. It is evident the need for practices that go beyond the symptoms in a preventive perspective, with a view to comprehensiveness.

ABSTRACT Objective: to develop an ICNP® terminology subset for the care of people with heart failure. Methods: this is a methodological study, which used the theoretical framework of the Mid-Range Nursing Theory for Cardiovascular Rehabilitation, with the steps: Construction of nursing diagnoses/outcomes and interventions statements and Cross-mapping of statements constructed. Results: forty-two diagnosis/outcome statements and 179 nursing intervention statements were constructed, organized based on five theory concepts, with a higher prevalence of statements related to “Rehabilitative care”, “Psychosocial support for patients and families” and “Supervised cardiovascular rehabilitation program”. Final considerations: it was possible to build nursing diagnosis/outcome and intervention statements for developing a terminology subset for the care of people with heart failure, based on the chosen theory.

Abstract Objective: To identify the main nursing diagnoses and interventions in children in the immediate postoperative period of palatoplasty. Method: Documentary and retrospective study, developed in a Brazilian public and tertiary hospital, between August and September 2020. Children who underwent only palatoplasty, between January and December 2019, aged between 10 and 24 months, were included. Those with medical syndromes and/or comorbidities were excluded. The Theoretical Framework of Basic Human Needs and the NANDA International and Nursing Interventions Classification Taxonomies were used. Data underwent descriptive statistical analysis. Results: The sample consisted of 126 children. Psychobiological needs such as oxygenation, hydration, nutrition, elimination, cutaneous-mucosal and physical integrity, pain and environmental perception predominated. Based on them, nine nursing diagnoses, with four focusing on the problem and five on risk, as well as 17 interventions, were identified. Conclusion: The use of standardized languages to identify affected human needs and, based on them, diagnoses and interventions, favored clinical reasoning for the construction and organization of clinical nursing practice.

Background. Documentation of nursing care is important in applying care to patients, in terms of their workload coming into the context of indirect nursing care. The focus of his study is to assess the application of nursing diagnoses in hospitals. The phenomenon that occurs in the order of nursing services was found that nurses only focused on documenting nursing assessments, but formulating nursing diagnoses was not clearly illustrated and there are still different perceptions in relation to writing a nursing diagnosis phrase. Objective. The purpose of this study is to identify the application of Standardized Nursing Languages in the context of nursing diagnoses in hospitals in Indonesia. Method. This study uses a descriptive correlation design using simple random sampling and obtained 132 nurse respondents. Closed questions (with answer choices prepared by the researcher) and open questions (in the form of frequently used diagnostic questions) were used. The instrument was first tested for validity and content validity with a CVI (0.9) and CVR (0.85) value, which means that the instrument is relevant and important to use. Results. It was found that almost half of the respondents (48.49%) nurses did not use a standard diagnosis. Only the level of education has a relationship with the application of the use of standard language nursing in Indonesia (p-value = 0.006) where the higher the education of nursing will have an impact on accuracy in diagnosing. Whereas for other variables such as gender, career ladder level and position in nursing were found no relationship with the ability in the accuracy of writing diagnoses. Conclussion. As the results shows that the use of the standard language of nursing is not fully used by nurses in Indonesia. Standardization and equalization of perception by nursing professional organizations are needed to be a guide for all nurses in carrying out documentation of nursing care

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has become a global public health issue, and the roles of nurses are very much needed in providing nursing services in the current situation. The enforcement of appropriate nursing diagnoses for patients with COVID-19 is also fundamental in determining proper nursing care to help the patients achieve maximum health. Objective: This study aimed to describe and analyze nursing diagnoses in patients with COVID-19 treated in the isolation rooms and ICUs. Methods: This study used a secondary data analysis from hospital medical record data of patients with COVID-19 from early December 2020 to the end of February 2021. Data were selected using a cluster random sampling technique and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: The results showed that the signs and symptoms of the patients with COVID-19 that often appeared were fever, cough, shortness of breath, and decreased consciousness. The common nursing diagnoses in the hospitalized patients with COVID-19 were hyperthermia, ineffective airway clearance, gas exchange disorder, self-care deficit, spontaneous ventilation disorder, spontaneous circulation disorder, knowledge deficit, and shock risk. Conclusion: This study offers an insight into nursing practices in the hospital setting, which can be used as a basis for nurses to perform complete nursing assessments and nursing diagnoses during the pandemic.
