Variable-Frequency Prony Method in the Analysis of Electrical Power QualityThe article presents a new modification of the the least squares Prony method. The so-called variable-frequency Prony method can be a useful tool for estimating parameters of sinusoidal components, which, in the analyzed signal, are characterized by time-dependent frequencies. The authors propose use of the presented method for testing the quality of electric energy. It allows observation of phenomena which, when using traditional methods, are averaged in the analysis window. The proposed modification of least squares Prony method is based on introduction and specific selection of a frequency matrix. This matrix represents frequencies of estimated components and their variability in time.

The cost of any product includes the cost of electrical energy in its production. Enterprises use various methods to reduce the cost of electric energy. One of the most common methods is to reduce the loss of active power in the distribution network of an enterprise. This is achieved by compensating for distortions in the power quality of electrical energy using compensating devices. The method presented in the article offers point compensation of distortions in the power quality indicators of electric energy. Point connection of compensating devices allows their small number to be used. But, at the same time, a greater effect is achieved. The connection points of compensating devices are determined by the developed method. The method includes three stages: collecting data on consumers of electric energy at an enterprise and on the topology of the distribution electric network, analyzing the results obtained using the developed algorithm, and determining connection points using the Pareto method. Also, the developed method was compared with the classical ones according to the criterion of the ratio of implementation costs to the effect of its application.

A number of power quality issues including electrical harmonics, poor power factor, and voltage instability and imbalance impact on the efficiency of electrical equipment. To support that equipment operates optimally, electrical power is generated must be have good quality. This study has a purpose to examine the power quality of electrical system AHTS (Anchor Handling Tug Supply) vessel. This research was done by quantitative method. Computational techniques used by the software of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), which shares characteristics and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS). The result of this analysis indicated that Electrical system in VM INPOSH REGENT have quality power very good of utility systems during full way condition, however during maneuver, there was a particularly high harmonic from non-linier devices used as motor control, which functional a role propulsion. Based on the result above, it can be concluded that after filtering so that harmonic can correct until perimeter secure ABS standard, system is very good during maneuver long site and maneuver on DP system.

In the application of electrical power quality control, the necessity for data processing becomes very important. The measurement data obtained is the latest data and measured in real time with good time resolution and with low error. The object of research is the quality of electric power, the research is about ways of measuring quality of electrical power to obtain accurate data in accordance with actual conditions. This method is capable of measuring data of electrical power quality that changes very quickly with a low error. This data is used as a basis for improving the quality of electric power accurately and accurately.

Power quality problems can cause processes and equipment to malfunction or shut down. And the consequences can range from excessive energy costs to complete work stoppage. Obviously, power quality is critical. There are many ways in which a power feed can be poor quality, and so no single figure can completely quantify the quality of a power feed. In this chapter, the authors present all definitions, classifications, and problems related to power quality. Finally, they do a comparison between the practical measurements and standards related to power quality.

With the development of national economy, the progress of science and technology and the height of the production process automation, various nonlinear loads in power grid grow rapidly together with a variety of complex, precise and sensitive power equipment. The above-mentioned two aspects of contradiction is more and more prominent and the requirement of users for power quality is also higher. In such situation, this paper discusses the related theory and its control technology in the field of power quality, analysis the development trend of power quality management and control in our country, which has a strong practical significance. This paper expounds the main problems affecting the quality of electric energy, and analyze in detail the way to improve the quality of electric energy, and then give a preliminary discussion on the development direction of this field.
