In his contribution, the author presents Conrad of Opole, who was the author of the manuscripts of The Saxon Mirror, prepared for Cracow and Wroclaw (the so-called Versio Wratislaviensis), and then other sources of Magdeburg law (such as the Magdeburg Weichbild). The author of this article concentrates on the creation of these monuments of law, but also on their significance for the development of urban law in Poland as the basis for the location and system of cities in Poland. Moreover, these reflections provide an opportunity to present the mutual relations between Wroclaw and Cracow during their location.

The article reveals the essence and content of the policy of the Constantinople Patriarchate regarding the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for more than a thousand years of history of mutual relations. Considering these relations in a historical retrospect, they can be chronologically divided into six stages, each of which reflects the process of evolution of the policy of the Constantinople Patriarchate in the Ukrainian Orthodoxy. The author concludes that throughout the history of relations the Patriarchate of Constantinople tried to subjugate Ukraine in general and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in particular to its spiritual, cultural and political influence. At the same time, the article focuses on the process of liquidation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church by the Moscow State and the entry of its structures into the Russian Orthodox Church. On this basis, it is proved that the matter of canonical recognition of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the creation of a national church is first and foremost an internal problem of Ukraine itself.

This study aims to trace the possible fate of the family of the High Priest of Ptah after the Roman conquest in 30bce. The mysterious death of Imhotep / Padibastetivcreated a clear rupture in the succession line. At first, Roman authorities seemed to hesitate to appoint a new high priest of Memphis, for various reasons, and thus waited almost three years to install Pasherienamunii, the first cousin of Imhotep / Padibastetiv, at the temple of Ptah. This occurred simultaneously with the creation of new priestly office: “prophet of the son of Caesar.” However, the embalmed body of Imhotep / Padibastetivremained unburied until 23bce, which might indicate previous dysfunctional mutual relations between the primary and the secondary branches of the same family.

Human plays a crucial role in the creation of science and the process of its development. The accepted idea of science determines, in turn, the position of humans in nature. Both modernity and contemporaneity suggest certain general concepts of science, as well as substantially and specifically influence the vision of mutual relations between humans and nature. The simple relationship between science and truth, which stemmed from positivism and which justified any form of the exploitation of nature, has been seriously questioned in the new idea of science. Consequently, the scheme, in which nature was treated as an object of unlimited use disappeared. Approaching the truth became a process showing various relationships and connections between humans and nature. Being still a subject in relation to nature, humans appeared one of its definitely determined components.

Dialectics and a dialogical approach constitute two distinct theoretical frameworks with long intellectual histories. The question of relations between dialogue and dialectics provokes discussions in academic communities. The present paper highlights the need to clarify the concepts ‘dialogue’ and ‘dialectics’ and explore their origins in the history of human thought. The paper attempts to examine mutual relations between dialectics and dialogue in a historical perspective and develop a theoretical reconstruction of their philosophical underpinnings. It proposes to deal with challenges connected with the creation of spaces for sharing and mutual enrichment between dialogue and dialectics.

Alertness is a foundational concept in current understandings of the spotting and exploitation of entrepreneurial opportunities. In this paper its two broad aspects from psychology have been explored and a model has been generated; reflecting the hierarchical relation between alertness aspects and mindfulness factors. Results show that mindfulness mediates the relationship between alertness and novelty creation. We use Interpretive Structure Modeling (ISM) to create the model of entrepreneurial alertness and mindfulness. The model is generated on the basis of ten technological entrepreneurs in the ISM session in Iran. They voted on the mutual relations of the elements. The results showed that mindfulness fosters alertness, which then leads to the creation of novel things. This also shows that mindfulness deserves more investigation for its potential role in other parts of entrepreneurial process.

Abstract Tomasello offers a compelling account of the emergence of humans’ sense of obligation. We suggest that more needs to be said about the role of affect in the creation of obligations. We also argue that positive emotions such as gratitude evolved to encourage individuals to fulfill cooperative obligations without the negative quality that Tomasello proposes is inherent in obligations.
