In 2014, 54% of the total global population was urban residents. The prediction was a growth of nearly 2% each year until 2020 leading to more pressure on the transportation system of cities. Cities should be making their streets run smarter instead of just making them bigger or building more roads. This leads to the proposed system which will use a Raspberry pi and Camera for tracking the number of vehicles leading to time-based monitoring of the system.

The provision of communal services and their timely execution is one of the vital issues of importance for the functioning of large cities. The paper pays special attention to the provision of communal services in larger cities in the Republic of Serbia. Payment for these services is a particularly important segment in the functioning of the municipal system of cities, and the collection is entrusted to specially formed public utility companies, as is the case with Belgrade, for example in which the public utility company "Infostan - Technologies" has primary jurisdiction. payment of all communal services provided to the residents of Belgrade. The same principle of unified collection has been applied in some other cities in Serbia, such as Subotica, Nis, Kragujevac, Novi Sad and others

Abstract This article investigates the legacy of ancient Phoenician, Greek and Etruscan colonialism in shaping the economic geography of the Mediterranean region. Utilising historical data on ancient colonies and current data on population density and night light emissions (as a proxy for economic activity), we find that geographical areas colonised by these ancient civilisations have higher population density and economic activity in the present day. We also find that ancient colonialism affected the origin and evolution of the urban system of cities and settlements prevalent in the Mediterranean region.

AbstractA dynamic system of cities with migrants is considered. The wage function is each city depends on the number of migrants in the city. The system is modeled by an automaton whose state is the vector consisting of the numbers of migrants in the cities. The transition function of the automaton reflects the conditions for transfers of migrants between cities. The system stabilizes if the moves are stopped at some point. We find conditions for stabilization of such system depending on the restrictions on the wage function and the automaton transition function. It is shown that if the functions of wages are strictly decreasing, if their ranges are disjoint, and if the transition function is defined so that a migrant moves to another city if and only if its salary increases, then the system necessarily stabilizes and its final state depends only on the total number of migrants and does not depend on their initial distribution over the cities. However, if the transition function is changed so that a migrant moves also if its salary is preserved, but the total wages in all cities are increased, then a monotonous decrease in the wage functions is sufficient for stabilization of the system.

In his contribution, the author presents Conrad of Opole, who was the author of the manuscripts of The Saxon Mirror, prepared for Cracow and Wroclaw (the so-called Versio Wratislaviensis), and then other sources of Magdeburg law (such as the Magdeburg Weichbild). The author of this article concentrates on the creation of these monuments of law, but also on their significance for the development of urban law in Poland as the basis for the location and system of cities in Poland. Moreover, these reflections provide an opportunity to present the mutual relations between Wroclaw and Cracow during their location.

Leading empiricists and theorists of cities have recently argued that the generation and exchange of ideas must play a more central role in the analysis of cities. This paper develops the first system of cities model with costly idea exchange as the agglomeration force. The model replicates a broad set of established facts about the cross section of cities. It provides the first spatial equilibrium theory of why skill premia are higher in larger cities and how variation in these premia emerges from symmetric fundamentals. (JEL J24, J31, O31, R12, R23)
