Russian State Library has the status of depository library of several international organizations and works on the basis of partnership and cooperation with the UN Information Centre and offices of other international organizations in Moscow.The paper highlights the experience of the RSL Center of Legal Information in providing access to the authoritative international organizations information on the base of the new technological platform and a new concept of library and information services.The description and the main functions and trends of activities of a new specialized reading room for the documents of international organizations in the Russian State Library which will be opened in the nearest future are also represented in this article.

The Theme of the Year’2013 is “Water Cooperation”, within this framework there was hosted a Round Table Meeting at the Documentation Center of International Organizations of the Russian State Library on March 22, 2013, devoted to the issues of the environmental protection.

The article covers the activities of the Russian State Library (RSL), being the Depository Library of the United Nations (UN). The author chose librarianship as a profession during his school years, and has worked in libraries before admission to Institute. After studying at the Moscow State Libray Institute author served in the army, he taught at the Krasnodar Institute of Culture, worked at the Lenin State Library of the USSR (Russian State Library), was head of department and deputy director, continues the chief editor of Library Bibliographical Classification. We talked about interesting trips abroad, about the activities of the Russian Library Association, in international organizations, on the pedagogical work for almost a lifetime. On the paper attached a list of the author's publications for the years 2012-2016.
