В. Адорно. The review examines a collection of selected articles by the prominent German musicologist of the 20th century Carl Dahlhaus (Dahlhaus, Carl. Selected works on the history and theory of music / comp., transl. from German, post-title, comment. by S. B. Naumovich. St. Petersburg: Izdatel’stvo imeni N. I. Novikova, 2019), which became the first representative edition of the scientist's writings in Russian (the scientist’s surname is transliterated by S. Naumovich as “Дальхаус”). The reviewer notes the universalism and versatility of the musicologist’s scientific interests, which give the full reason to call him a philosopher of music and a scholar of encyclopedic education (Dm. Chekhovich). S. Naumovich, who acted not only as a translator, but also as a compiler, as well as the author of the afterword, convincingly highlighted Dahlhaus’s scientific heritage in general, characterized the context in which his writings were created, and provided important biographical details. The translation made by S. Naumovich is considered to be a high quality work and have a number of indisputable advantages. According to the reviewer, the book could naturally be supplemented by excerpts from the works by the Russian musicologist and esthetician Tatiana V. Cherednichenko, who devoted much of her consideration to Dahlhaus. A particular attention is paid to the Viennese critic Eduard Hanslick, whose provisions were in tune with the thoughts of the German scientist. The reviewer also touched on the problem of a purely rational attitude to music/ which Dahlhaus was convinced of: here the musicologist is seen as a successor and heir of Max Weber and Theodor W. Adorno.

ABSTRACTThis book examines many aspects of “caring” from a feminist perspective. The authors analyse caring, and the roles that women play within this sphere, in relation to certain socio-economic dimensions particular to women in Canadian society which comprise the cornerstone of the current methodology developed. The eight authors, in turn, each cast original light on the principal theme and the variety of subjects covered makes this publication a pivotal work in the thought and study of women and the taking of responsibility for dependent adults in the family. By questioning the foundations upon which the caring practices of Canadian society rest, the authors lay the groundwork for a critical knowledge which will contribute, in the end, to a greater measure of equality between the sexes. This high quality work is also easily accessible and will interest people who study, teach and work in fields related to the sphere of caregiving.

Human resources with high levels of happiness will impact organizational productivity and performance. Employees spend most of their day working in the organization, so it is obvious that working environment is a significant factor that affects employees' emotional and job performance. The findings of this study showed that working environment highly contributed to the employees’ happiness with a min value of 3.010. Subsequent findings indicated that the quietest working environment influenced workers to produce high quality work. Although the findings showed that the respondents were satisfied with their current working environment, some respondents still expected further improvements in terms of facilities such as healthy food at the cafeteria and extended nursery services from infants to four-year-olds

The text introduces important designers and the process of fashion jewellery design in the production companies in the field of jewellery. The authors discuss the political and economic influences on the process of creating new samples and subsequent production. They classify and document in detail the work, sources of inspiration as well as the achievements and awards of specialized jewellery designers. They were behind the creation of an inexhaustible number of new components and thousands of complete samples and final products for the serial production of jewellery made of glass, metal, plastics or wood. Despite many limitations, the creative and high-quality work of these designers at domestic and international presentations was afrequent pride of Czechoslovak industry and, especially in the field of foreign trade, brought considerable profits to Czechoslovakia.

The France-USA Memorial Hospital in Saint-Lô, Normandy (1948-1965), is known as one of the most relevant French Reconstruction projects. It is the first important work crafted by the French-American architect, Paul Nelson (1895-1979). His humanist approach inspired a series of unprecedented, meaningful and technical architectural innovations. The organization of the new hospital, based on functionality and modernity; polychromic and artistic inclusion; extended high-quality work, notably the "claustra" façade; ovoid surgical rooms and technical equipment are testimonies to the major quality and innovation pursued in the Memorial Hospital project. Paul Nelson’s work brings into focus the rich and comprehensive relationship between architecture, arts and care.
