Lingual lesson has significant development at the level of modern approaches to the study of language, And this development has generated various interpretations on the level of language function; Either linguistically or socially exclusive, resulting in differences in the interpretation of linguistic phenomenon in itself, As well as the serious procedural tools that help us interpret the text or speech which language, newest vehicles,  Jacobsen is a scientific contribution theory appears in the context of the analysis of the linguistic phenomenon. And the theory of linguistic communication is one of the most important modern theories of linguistics, and Roman Jacobson is a true parallax them; as it is attributed to him at all despite The first signs appeared to Saussure where this theory has shown that the language is based on the basic functions in the process communicative identified six elements: the sender: the expressive function, and the receiver: the evocative function, and the message and function of poetry, and the channel: the phatic function, and the context: referential function, the code: the metalingual functions. Jacobson interested in linguistic communication and nonlinguistic communication, and given the importance of the context; where to put its mark in many areas of knowledge; including pedagogy, sociology, media, science and communication, among others.

This undergraduate thesis entitled “Analysis of Code Switching in Dialogue of Indonesian Novel Permainan Maut by Lexie Xu” has two aims which are; to analyze the types of code switching and the functions of code switching that is found in the novel. The data source that is used in this study is a novel entitled Permainan Maut by Lexie Xu. It was chosen as the data because there are many characters who come from different social background that makes them often to talk in various languages. This phenomenon could help to analyze on how code switching works in every dialogues.   The data was collected using documentation method and analyzed using theory from Wardhaugh (1986) in his book entitled An Introduction to Sociolinguistics to analyze the types of code switching and from Appel & Muysken (1987) in his book entitled Language Contact and Bilingualism to analyze the functions of code switching.  Furthermore, it is presented in informal method using words to explain the type and function of code switching used by the character in their dialogue. The result of this study explains that Situational Code Switching is more dominant to be used than Metaphorical code switching. Not all functions of code switching can be found in these dialogues. Only four out of six are used, they are: Referential Function, Metalinguistics Function, Phatic Function and Expressive Function.

This paper is entitled “The Analysis Code Switching Found in The Novel “Critical Eleven”. The aims of this study  are to describe the types, function and to the analyse reasons of code switching used by the novelist. The data  in this study were taken from all chapters of the novel entitled “Critical Eleven”by Ika Natassa. Firstly, the code switching that occurs in novel were identified and then they were classified and analyzed based on their types, function, and reasons of code switching. The collected data were analyzed  using three theories;  first the theory by Poplack as the main theory used in this study; this theory was used to analyze the three types of code swtching, they are: Tag Switching, Inter-Sentental Switching, Intra-Sentential Switching. The second theory proposed by Apple and Muyken was used to anlyze the function of code switching. They divided the functions into six categories, which are: Referential Function, Directive Function, Expressive Function, Phatic Function, Metalinguistic Function, Poetic Function. The theory proposed by Grosjean was used to analyze the reason of code switching.  There are ten reasons of code switching; they are: To Fill A Linguistic Need For Lexical Item, Set Phrase, Discouse Marker Or Sentence Filler,To Continue Last Language Used (Triggering}, To Qoute Someone, To Emphasize, To Spesify Speaket Addressee, To Qualify Message: Amplify Or Emphasize, To Specify Speaker Involvement, To Mark And Emphasize Group Identity (Solidarity), To Convey Confidentially, Anger, Annoyance, To  Exclude Someone From Conversation, To Change Role Of Speaker: Rise Status, Add Authority, Show Expertise. But from the six functions of code switching  applied, there are only five functions of code switching found in the novel; they are Referential Function, Expressive Function, Phatic Function, Metalinguistic Function And Poetic Function. And based on the reasons of code switching, there were only seven which were found in the novel”Critical Eleven”; they are To Fill A Linguistic Need For Lexical Item, To Continue The Last Language Used (Triggering), To Quote Someone, Specify Addressee, To Specify Speaker Involvement, To Mark And Emphasize Group Identify (Solidarity) And To Convey Confidentially, Anger, And Annoyance.

This paper examines the types of language functions used in the utterances and the one which is dominantly used in Meghan Markle’s speech. By applying qualitative method, the researcher analyze the utterance produced by Meghan Markle as the speaker, was delivering her speech. The researcher uses the five function of language proposed by Jakobson, they are referential function, conative function, emotive function, poetic function, and phatic function. The results show that there are five types of language functions used in Meghan Markle’s speech. The first most dominant function used is conative function (32%) which is found in 6 utterances. The second most dominant function is emotive function (26%) which is found in 5 utterances. Then referential function was found in 4 utterances (21%), phatic is found in 3 utterances (16%), while poetic function is found in 1 utterance only (5%). In addition, metalingual function is not used at all. Thus, it can be concluded that as the speaker, Meghan Markle wants to wants to influence her addressee through her utterances.Key word: Language, language function, speech

Various pathological processes are associated with the aberrant expression and function of cytokines, especially those belonging to the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) family. Nevertheless, the functions of members of the TGF-β family in cancer progression and therapy are still uncertain. Growth differentiation factor- 15, which exists in intracellular and extracellular forms, is classified as a divergent member of the TGF-β superfamily. It has been indicated that GDF-15 is also connected to the evolution of cancer both positively and negatively depending upon the cellular state and environment. Under normal physiological conditions, GDF-15 inhibits early tumour promotion. However, its abnormal expression in advanced cancers causes proliferation, invasion, metastasis, cancer stem cell formation, immune escape and a reduced response to therapy. As a clinical indicator, GDF-15 can be used as a tool for the diagnosis and therapy of an extensive scope of cancers. Although some basic functions of GDF-15 are noncontroversial, their mechanisms remain unclear and complicated at the molecular level. Therefore, GDF-15 needs to be further explored and reviewed.

A significant development of offshore wave power is planned in the future, and its impact on the marine environment is unclear. Solid structures placed on the seabed create new habitats and function as artificial reefs for marine organisms. In this study we investigated the artificial reef effect and fouling impacts on offshore wave power devices deployed at the Swedish west coast. Here, buoys acting as point absorbers on the surface are connected to generators anchored on concrete foundations on the seabed. We studied the influence of surface orientation of the wave power foundations on epibiotic colonisation, and made in situ observations of micro-habitat use by fish and crustaceans over four years of submergence. We also examined fouling assemblages on buoys and calculated the effects of biofouling on the energy absorption of the wave power buoys.

Actin is the structural protein of microfilaments, and it usually exists in two forms: monomer and polymer. Among them, monomer actin is a spherical molecule composed of a polypeptide chain, also known as spherical actin. The function of actin polymers is to produce actin filaments, so it is also called fibroactin. The actin cytoskeleton is considered to be an important subcellular filament system. It interacts with numerous relevant proteins and regulatory cells, regulating basic functions, from cell division and muscle contraction to cell movement and ensuring tissue integrity. The dynamic reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton has immense influence on the progression and metastasis of cancer as well. This paper explores the significance of the microfilament network, the dynamic changes of its structure and function in the presence of a tumor, the formation process around the actin system, and the relevant proteins that may be target molecules for anticancer drugs so as to provide support and reference for interlinked cancer treatment research in the future.
