This research was aimed to find out the types of expressive speech acts and the context of the expressive speech acts uttered by the main character in Joker movie. The design of the research was a descriptive qualitative research. The data source was Joker Movie directed by Todd Phillips The movie was released in 2019 and its duration was about 1 hour 55 minutes. The data of this research were utterances that included as expressive speech acts. The data were collected by watching, observing, and writing down the utterances indicated as expressive speech acts found in the movie. The data were analyzed by using formal and informal methods. The data were presented by using table (Formal method) and description (Informal method). The contexts of the utterances were analyzed by using SPEAKING model. The results of the analysis show that there are six classifications of expressive speech acts uttered by the main character in Joker Movie. The total number of expressive speech acts found in the movie was 27 utterances covering 7 utterances of greeting, 6 utterances of agreeing, 5 utterances of thanking, 4 utterances of apologizing, 3 utterances of wishing, and 2 utterances of exclamation. The researcher found out that the expressive speeech act of greeting is the most frequently used by the main character. It shows that the main character likes to express his salutation when he meets someone.

This research was conducted due to the importance of cooperative principle in daily conversation, as Grice’s theory explained about cooperative principle which has been divided into four maxims: 1) maxim of quantity, 2) maxim of quality, 3) maxim of relation, and 4) maxim of manner. These four maxims are the rules that have to be obeyed by the speakers and the interlocutors during interactions. This research is focusing on maxim of violation occurred in Pretty Little Liars TV Series. The method used in this analysis is descriptive qualitative. Objects of the research are the types of the violation and also the implied meaning behind the violation. This research used the observation method using non-participatory technique in collecting the data, and pragmatics identity method in analyzing the data. In presenting the data, this research used informal method. The result of this research found out that there were fifteen violations happened in Pretty Little Liars, all of the maxims are violated during this show. The violation of maxim relation was the most dominant violation.

<em><span lang="EN-US">Hinduism in Indonesia, especially that which was inherited in Bali, is a combination of ancestral beliefs (pre-Hindu) with Vedic teachings that came to the archipelago and blended harmoniously to form sivasiddhanta in Bali. This paper uses two combined theories, namely the theory of hermeneutics, and the theory of symbolic interactionism. The method in collecting data uses the listen-to method, which is combined with basic note-taking techniques. followed by using data analysis methods and techniques which include (1) Data Reduction, (2) Data Presentation, and (3) Verification. It ends with the method of presenting the results of data analysis using an informal method. The text of the Lontar Bhuana Sangk</span><span lang="EN-US">ṣ</span><span lang="EN-US">epa contains a dialogue between Bha</span><span lang="EN-US">ṭ</span><span lang="EN-US">āra Siwa and Bha</span><span lang="EN-US">ṭ</span><span lang="EN-US">āri Uma accompanied by Bha</span><span lang="EN-US">ṭ</span><span lang="EN-US">āra Kumara. Lontar Bhuana Sangk</span><span lang="EN-US">ṣ</span><span lang="EN-US">epa consists of 128 Sanskrit Slokas with Old Javanese language, the contents of which explain how to achieve kalepasan with the teachings of Yoga. The concept of the 33 Vedic Gods or what is known as Ista Dewata is transformed into the social religious practice of Hinduism in Bali with the pangider-ider or Dewata Nawa Saga. then those are the forms of grounding the Vedic teachings that can be seen in the practice of Hindu religious life in Bali.</span></em>

People as social human beings need a language for communication in daily activities. Communication can be found in many forms, one of them is speech. Thus, related to speech and the function of the speech to society the writer is interested in analysing the language, power and ideology in the speech of President Jokowi’s. This study uses critical discourse analysis theory, where it can be found that ideology can be revealed with the use of vocabulary, grammar and text structure of the speaker. The writer uses qualitative method by analysing Jokowi’s speech transcript. The writer also uses identity method by applying sociolinguistics method and pragmatic method. For presenting the data, the writer uses informal method. The writer found eight ideologies in analysing Jokowi’s speech such as the ideology of equality, the ideology in unity, the ideology to honour the law, the ideology of social justice, the ideology in prioritizing citizen, the ideology of national prosperity, the ideology of hard working, and the ideology in assertiveness. The result of this study shows a proof about the relationship between language, power, and ideology. As an Indonesian president, Jokowi has the power to choose the utterance in his speech. Through power over language, Jokowi can reveal the ideology that he holds so that the citizens can understand and follow his ideology.

This research is entitled "Forms of Cyberbullying in the Drama San Nen A Gumi by Shogo Muto". The purpose of this study is to describe the forms of cyberbullying in the data source used, namely the drama San Nen A Gumi by Shogo Muto. The method used in this research is the library method, descriptive analysis method and informal method. The theory used consists of two theories, namely the theory of sociology of literature according to Wellek and Warren and the theory of cyberbullying according to Willard. The results showed that there are five forms of cyberbullying, including 1) flaming 'sending fiery messages' 2) harassment 'sending disturbing messages of harassment repeatedly', 3) denigration 'making or spreading slander', 4) impersonation 'disguise', and 5) outing and trickery 'obtaining or spreading secrets from the target by deceit'.

This research is entitled “Processing Foodstuffs Skills in the Little forest Movie by Junichi Mori”. The purpose of this research was to examine the skills of the Japanese people in processing  foodstuffs in Junichi Mori's Little forest movie. The method used in this research is note taking method, descriptive analysis method and informal method. The theory used in this study is the Literary Gastronomy theory proposed by Endraswara and the Semiotic theory proposed by Danesi. The results showed that there were several skills in processing foodstuffs based on the food they were processed, 1) amazake which was processed using porridge and koji, 2) stir-fried akebi which was processed using ingredients from akebi skin and cooked using sabuji style, 3) hoshiimo made from dried sweet potatoes, 4) shimi daikon made from radish dried in cold air, 5) Hoshigaki, which is dried persimmon made from kind of astringent persimmons. in the Little Forest movie is shown the process of processing traditional foodstuffs. the unique thing is that the Japanese people in the little forest film not only use cooking utensils but also take advantage of the air temperature to process food.

People speaking language differently, it can be influenced by some social factors. This research is intended to find out the kinds of speech style and the variables that influencing the characters of “Birds of Prey” in speaking a language. There are two aims of this study, those are: 1) To find out the kinds of speech style are used in “Birds of Prey” movie, 2) To find out the dominant style used by the character in “Birds of Prey” movie. This research is using descriptive qualitative method in analyzing the data with the theory proposed by Joos (1967) to divine the style of speech style. The result of the data was presented in both formal and informal method in finding presentation. The formal method was applied through table and the informal method was applied through word explanation to explain which type of an utterance belongs to. The result of this study showed there are 266 utterances that categorized into type of speech style, there are 4 types of speech style that grouped into: 17 formal styles, 56 consultative styles, 180 casual style and 13 intimate styles with casual style as the dominant style to be used by the character according to the movie’s rating and genre.

The objectives of this research are to know the function of derivational affixes and to analyze the word structure of derivational affixes found in HighEnd Magazine. This study focused on the function and the word structure of affixes attached in each word found in HighEnd Magazine. The magazine entitled HighEnd Magazine is used as the data source. In this research the writer used observation method in collecting the data and qualitative method was used to analyze the data. The data were analyzed by using theory from Katamba (1993) and Carstairs and McCarthy (2002). The researcher used formal and informal method to present the result of the analysis. There are 302 words attached by derivational affixes found in HighEnd Magazine. There are two functions of derivational morpheme they are class changing morpheme and class maintaining morpheme.

This research is entitled “Geguritan Ni Sumala: Philological Studies”. Assessment of Geguritan Ni Sumala uses philological theory. This study aims to obtain the text of Geguritan Ni Sumala which approaaches the original. The data supply phase uses the observation method and simak method helped by note taking technique. Next, in data analysis phase using comparative descriptive method, transliteration uses standard transliteration method, following by a comparation of three texts through text criticism, text edition using the legger method, the translation uses combination literal translation and idiomatic translation. In the stage of presenting the result of data analysis using formal and informal method by deductive-inductive tecnique also assisted by exposure, tables, and themes. The text edition is complemented by criticism apparatus which is presented separately and translation is also presented separately with the source text. The result of this study are, from the three of GNS manuscripts that have been compared through text criticism there are some copy/write errors from each text such as substitution, adition, omission, lakuna, interpolation, ditography, transposition, and corrupt. By correcting the copy error presented Geguritan Ni Sumala text which assumed to be correct based on the evidence three of contained manuscripts. Geguritan Ni Sumala uses Balinese Kawi language. Next in text edition for literacy guidelines used are Acri and Griffiths opinions (2014: 371-372) and combined with Damais opinions (1995: 125). aside from that, the spelling used in text edition are spelling guidelines for Balinese script pairs with Latin letters and Balinese letters also guidelines Pasang Aksara Bali. Indonesian translations are also included in the Geguritan Ni Sumala text.

This study aims at analyzing the myth within the "Who Says No to Mentos" advertisement. The data of this study was taken from Mentos NG on the YouTube platform. The data were collected by documentation method with note-taking technique and analyzed by the qualitative method using the theory of Semiotic by Barthes (1972). The analysis is presented in an informal method. The results of this study show that both verbal and non-verbal signs have implied meaning to persuade and influence the audiences through visual illustration. The meaning comes from the relation between signifier and signified. This has determined that the "Who Says No to Mentos" advertisement concerned with sharing, caring, togetherness, happiness, and making friends with people in real life.
