The Links between the Companies Market Price Quality and that of its Management and Business Quality: A System Panel Data Approach

This work uses a simultaneous equation system approach to analyze the relationship between the management and business quality of companies and their market price quality. Using panel data we found that both the management and the business quality of companies positively influence the market price quality of the studied American companies. Additionally, variables like the actual position of the company price quality compared to the industry average, being on the top or the bottom, or the beta value of a company, also influence the market price quality of the respective company. It is shown that the system equation approach is the most appropriate to explain the linkages between price, business, and management quality providing consistent estimates. Also, using ratings to express the three core variables in the system is the most adequate way to define the quality characteristics in terms of price, management, and business performance of the companies considered in this study.

Can digital media advertising strategies benefit agribusiness farms? This study addresses this issue by investigating the extent to which digital and traditional media advertising strategies affect agribusiness performance and the underlying factors associated with agribusiness farms' adoption decisions. We estimate a non-linear simultaneous equation system and use a population-based survey data of agricultural processing farms in Japan. We find that female and younger farm operators', as well as incorporated agribusiness farms, are more likely to adopt digital media advertising. The sales value of digital media advertising users is higher by 51% than that of non-users. Moreover, the effect of digital advertising is not equally distributed among farms. Family farms and farms located in rural areas benefit more from the adoption of digital media advertising.

Commitment in channel relationships is modeled as a function of (1) each party's perception of the other party's commitment, (2) self-reported and perceived pledges (idiosyncratic investments and contractual terms) made by each party, and (3) other factors such as communication level, reputation, and relationship history. A dyadic model represented by a simultaneous equation system is estimated with data from 378 pairs of manufacturers and industrial distributors. The results indicate that one type of pledge, idiosyncratic investments, has a strong effect on the commitment of both parties to the relationship. In addition, each party's commitment is affected by the perceived commitment of the other party. Finally, idiosyncratic investments signal commitment, affecting each party's perceptions of the other party's commitment.

Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) encompasses various forms of computational algorithms, statistical techniques, and mathematical models, which are utilized to fit the constructs of information. SEM tests the hypothesis by utilizing data generated from respondents who are all participated in the intelligence test. This article focuses on the investigation of the relationship between the elements of successive critical factors for management quality (SCEMQ) and business progression (BP). The instrument is adopted to gather primary data from the business organization. In this article, two-step SEM model is incorporated in the investigation of SCEMQ and BP. The article identified seven critical successive elements, namely commitment with top management (CTM), focus on customer (FC), planning of strategic (PS), management of process (MPR), management of people (MP), quality of leadership (QL), and management of supplier (MS), which have a significant role in defining the performance of the business. From this study, it is identified that the quality and information have a huge contribution to the success of business. From the analysis of statistical outcome, significant as well as positive correlation among the critical aspects of business are identified.

This study set out to investigate what role the quality of the relationship between business leaders and their employees played in the performance of their business. The study compared the business performance of forty-five area managers in one of the major listed banks in South Africa with their specific leader/employee relationship profiles. The research approach was quantitative and of a correlational nature. The results indicate that although certain elements within the relationship between business leaders and employees indeed have an influence on business performance this alone was not a sufficient condition. The study suggested that the dimensions relating to vision, trust, accountability and decision- making have the strongest influence on business performance. Further research in this area is suggested.

Although Vietnam’s economic growth and poverty reduction for almost three decades have been remarkable, growth for poverty reduction is unequally distributed across the nation. The paper examines the cause of poverty and the impact of provincial economic growth on poverty alleviation, using the data of 63 provinces in Vietnam. The elasticity of poverty with respect to provincial economic growth is employed (the elasticities of headcount index, poverty gap index, and squared poverty index with respect to provincial economic growth) to identify the provinces where pro-poor growth has occurred. The elasticity of poverty with respect to provincial Gini coefficient is examined to identify the impact of expenditure inequality on poverty. The simultaneous equation system is estimated to analyze not only direct and indirect effects of the related variables, but also the causality effect between economic growth and the poverty elasticity with respect to both growth and the Gini coefficient.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between corporate governance effectiveness and information transparency. Hence, this paper seeks to extend prior information transparency research. Design/methodology/approach This study uses a sample of 28 non-financial listed Tunisian companies and covers an eight-year period from 2006 to 2013. To test the hypotheses of this research, a simultaneous equation system model was applied. Findings The results obtained show that, for the Tunisians companies, corporate governance practices have a significant positive effect on information transparency. The current study also provides evidence that pertinent information can improve corporate governance index. Research limitations/implications The findings may be of interest to the academic researchers, practitioners and regulators who are interested in discovering the quality of corporate governance practices in Tunisian context. Practical implications The findings of this study can help Tunisian regulators in creating corporate governance disclosure requirements. The findings also provide the African business community insights concerning the quality of corporate governance and of corporate reporting. Social implications This research helps also to inform regulators about the benefits of disclosure more information to investors and to the firm. For instance, how the information can be a source of transparency and stability in the firms what and favors the social environment of the firms. Originality/value This paper extends the existing literature by examining the causal relationship between corporate governance and information transparency.
