This research aims to describe the relationship between resilience and burnout facing COVID-19 pandemics. The sample was n = 831 lecturers and professors of a Mexican public university. This study is a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, explanatory, and ex post facto research using Structural Equations Modeling with latent variables under the partial least square’s method technique. We used the CD-RISC-25 and SBI questionnaires to measure resilience and burnout, respectively. Structural Equations Modeling (SEM–PLS) allowed the visualization of the exogenous variable (resilience) in endogenous variables (dimensions of SBI burnout: E9 guilt, E7 emotional exhaustion, E8 indolence, and E6 work illusion). To this day, there are very few previous studies that jointly analyze in Mexico the characteristics of resilience and burnout in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Findings show that resources availability has the strongest correlation with accomplishment in teaching, followed by cynicism and emotional exhaustion. These results have important professional implications.

Epidemic outbreaks are one of the important sources of the risk in the global supply chains. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, global industries that were unprepared for disruptions experienced a decline due to the pandemic. A global supply chain is a complex system set of dynamics that could be analyzed by the system dynamics approach. In this article, the impact of the recent pandemic on the global supply chain is simulated in different scenarios. A system dynamic model is developed to carry out the simulations. In order to consider the impact of the pandemic on the exogenous and endogenous variables, a force majeure factor is defined in the model. Global features considered in this article are the export and import operations, the exchange rate and the rate of tariff. In this article, a scenario analysis is performed to analyze two important factors of the global supply chain: force majeure factor and delivery delay. Results showed that improving the flexibility of production capacity is one of the important strategies that global supply chain managers should pursue. JEL Codes: F23, P45, C15, C63, E37, F17

Abstract When the endogenous variables enter non-parametrically into the regression equation standard linear instrumental variables approaches fail. Two existing solutions are the non-parametric instrumental variables (NPIVs) estimators, which are based on a set of conditional moment restrictions (CMRs), and the control function (CF) estimators, which use conditional mean independence (CMI) restrictions. Our first contribution is to show that – similar to CMI – the CMR place shape restrictions on the conditional expectation of the error given the instruments and endogenous variables that are sufficient for identification, and we call our new estimator based on these restrictions the CMR-CF estimator. Our second contribution is to develop an estimator for non-linear and non-parametric settings that can combine both CMR and CMI restrictions, which cannot be done in either the NPIV nor the non-parametric CF setting. This new “Generalized CMR-CF” uses both CMR and CMI restrictions together by allowing the conditional expectation of the structural error to depend on both instruments and control variables. When sieves are used to approximate both the structural function and the CF our estimator reduces to a series of least squares regressions. Our Monte Carlos illustrate that our new estimator performs well across several economic settings.

Financial technology has emerged as a game-changer to complement and enhance how the Millennial and Generation Z conduct transactions. Responding to calls of prior research, this study used the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) to understand how performance expectancy and effort expectancy factors influence consumers' intention to use financial technology. Performance expectancy (PE) and effort expectancy (EE) were investigated as exogenous variables towards the intention to use financial technology (FinTech) that act as endogenous variables in this study. The authors collected 284 Millennial and Generation Z respondents and analysed the data using PLS-SEM. The result from the study's structural model suggested that FinTech continuance use intention was dependent on performance expectancy and effort expectancy on engaging with young vibrant consumers and establishing attractive FinTech elements. In addition, Millennial and Generation Z consumers with a high-performance expectancy were found to emphasize FinTech components in the engagement process.

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant effect between the exogenous variables of anxiety, confidence, and motivation with the endogenous variables of the performance of referees on duty in North Sumatra Province. The population in this study is the National Referee of North Sumatra Province. The sampling technique used was the purposive sampling method in which the national referees selected were adjusted to the criteria determined by the researchers as many as 50 national referees from various levels. The research method used is the descriptive quantitative method. The results of the data analysis carried out showed that 1) There was a significant influence between anxiety on the referee's performance of 0.854 or 73.7%, 2) There was a significant influence between self-confidence on the referee's performance of 0.842 or 70.9%, 3) There was a significant effect of a significant difference between motivation on the performance of the referee is 0.744 or 55.3%, 4) There is a significant effect between anxiety on the motivation of 0.841 or 70.8%, 5) There is a significant influence between self-confidence and motivation of 0.851 or 72.5 %, 6) There is a significant effect between anxiety through motivation on referee performance by 0.744 or 55.3%, 7) There is a significant effect between self-confidence through motivation on referee performance by 0.879 or 77.3%. The data collection technique in this study used a questionnaire instrument method in the form of statements on a Likert scale that had been validated by experts. So it can be concluded that several internal and external factors can affect the performance of the referee in leading the match such as anxiety, confidence, and motivation. Suggestions for the referee to be able to optimize the psychological condition before leading the game, to maximize the task of leading the match.

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the impact of proactive environmental strategy, competitive differentiation advantage & cost-leadership competitive advantage for the competitive, sustainable development of an organization in terms of its performances, for instance, product strategy, production, process & financial performances. We incorporated technological eco-innovation as a mediating factor & corporate image as a moderator between exogenous & endogenous variables. We have collected 798 responses from China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. For the data analyses, we employed a structural equation modeling-based multivariate approach and conditional process modeling. The novelty and significance of the undertaken study rested in multifaceted outcomes; for instance, the proactive environmental strategy, the competitive advantage of differentiation & competitive advantage of cost leadership have a significant & positive impact on the sustainable development of an organization in terms of its performances, for example, product strategic, production & financial performances. The findings further demonstrate that technological eco-innovation as a mediating factor & corporate image as a moderating factor played vital and significant influencers between exogenous and endogenous variables. Finally, the Toda- Yamamoto causality showed the two-ways directionality between exogenous & endogenous variables. The outcomes have provided critical practical and societal implications for the industry and society. The companies may incorporate the environment as a cornerstone in short & longterm strategies for sustainable development. On the other hand, organizations may provide an eco-friendly environment to society.

Religious values are contemporary issues associated with employees’ behavior in organizations, especially from the Islamic human resource (HR) management view. To address this issue, this study analyzed the influence of Islamic work values on engagement, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and in-role performance of Muslim employees. Considering the potential spread of COVID-19, primary data was collected by distributing online questionnaire via emails and social media to 283 respondents in Makassar City, Indonesia, who fulfilled the predetermined sampling criterion. PLS-SEM was employed to check the measurement and structural models of the SmartPLS 3.0 program. It was revealed that Islamic work values have a significant influence on engagement and job satisfaction and in contrast, insignificant on organizational commitment and employee in-role performance. In addition, a significant interrelationship between the 4 endogenous variables was confirmed, namely engagement, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and in-role performance. Furthermore, it was found that several constructs mediate the correlation between Islamic values and in-role performance. The findings are essential to provide theoretical enrichment for future studies pertaining to the measured Islamic values and HR behavior. Practically, managers are capable to devise and select the most appropriate HR strategies for Muslim employee in a particular organization.

It is known that perceived intrusiveness and privacy concerns, mediated by irritation, indirectly affect advertising avoidance. This research attempts to verify the importance of perceived advertising value by investigating its moderated mediation effect on the links between those endogenous variables. The research model was empirically verified with data derived from 374 valid off-line responses. Analysis found that both perceived intrusiveness and privacy concerns increased irritation in using mobile social media. Irritation caused by perceived intrusiveness and privacy concerns had positive mediating effects on advertising avoidance. Ubiquity increased perceived intrusiveness and privacy concerns, whereas personalization reduced perceived intrusiveness. Customization increased perceived intrusiveness, whereas informativeness significantly reduced it. Social interaction increased privacy concerns, whereas social integration decreased them. The moderated mediation effect of perceived advertising value among women was negative. In the low-exposure group, a negative moderated mediation effect of perceived advertising value on the relationship between irritation and advertising avoidance was also found.
