This chapter turns to a general theory which generalizes and unifies all of the examples in the preceding chapters. A main issue is that the first definition from the trichotomy does not generalize to the multi-parameter situation. To deal with this, strengthened cancellation conditions are introduced. This is done in two different ways, resulting in four total definitions for singular integral operators (the first two use the strengthened cancellation conditions, while the later two are generalizations of the later two parts of the trichotomy). Thus, we obtain four classes of singular integral operators, denoted by A1, A2, A3, and A4. The main theorem of the chapter is A1 = A2 = A3 = A4; i.e., all four of these definitions are equivalent. This leads to many nice properties of these singular integral operators.

The introduction presents different contents and historical aspects of the relation between philosophy and psychiatry, with the issues of metapsychiatry among the most general ones. Subsequently, several problems of metapsychiatry are addressed, as problematizing of psychiatric theory and practice. The questions to which metapsychiatry, alone or together with other sciences could provide answers, are briefly addressed. Those are primarily the issues of singularity and consistency of a particular psychiatric entity, the issue of causality in psychiatry, the reality of psychiatric categories, the issue of the relation of psychiatry and common sense, of modular or holistic organization of mental contents, the relation between practicism and intellectualism in psychiatry, of the Cartesian dilemma in psychiatry and the issue of autonomy of the contents of spiritual life. The main issue that metapsychiatry ought to provide an answer to is the relation between physical and psychic substantiality in psychiatry, solved until now, as e already said, from the viewpoints of idealistic nomism. materialism, neutral monism ontological epiphenomenalism, and Cartesian dualism. As a conclusion, the author points to certain advantages offered by metapsychiatric analyses, i.e. defragmenting the relation between philosophy and psychiatry.

Starting in about 2004 John McDowell and I have engaged in a debate. There have been a number of public exchanges, and quite a few more private ones. In my view, some progress has been made (though the debate continues). Others may disagree (the ‘law of diminishing fleas’). I, at any rate, think I have learned from him. Guy Longworth does us both the honour of comparing our debate to one a half century earlier between J. L. Austin and P. F. Strawson. Honours apart, I think he has pointed to an illuminating connection between what I have long thought the main issue and another. If I had been asked what question McDowell and I had been (most centrally) debating, I would have said: it is the question how enjoying an experience of perceiving (e.g., of seeing) can make judging one thing or another intelligibly rational (that last term lifted from McDowell). I have a story to tell which is, in one key respect, sparser than his. To telegraph, he thinks such experience must have (representational) content. I think, not just that it needn’t, but that if it did, we would be cut off from ...

AbstractThe present paper is a continuation of a previous one by the same title, the content of which faced the issue concerning the relations of coreference and qualification in compliance with the Navya-Nyāya theoretical framework, although prompted by the Advaita-Vedānta enquiry regarding non-difference. In a complementary manner, by means of a formal analysis of equivalence, equality, and identity, this section closes the loop by assessing the extent to which non-difference, the main issue here, cannot be reduced to any of the former. The following sections of this study will focus on the assessment of the eventual possibility of causation and transformation in non-difference.

The main issue discussed in the article is the social responsibility of business. The article provides various definitions of the category of social responsibility. The concept of "social responsibility of business" is a multilevel and complex category. Responsibility includes ethical categories such as morality, duty and charity. The article examines the theoretical aspects of scientific approaches to corporate social responsibility, analyzes classical and modern scientific theories and concepts. The factors influencing the growing importance of corporate social responsibility in society, issues related to the role of business in the formation of a voluntary society are considered.

Significance The result led Pablo Iglesias, the founder of Unidas Podemos (UP), which is part of Sanchez’s minority left-wing government, to resign from politics. It also reinforced the national decline of the centre-right Ciudadanos (Cs) party, on which Sanchez has sometimes relied for parliamentary support. Impacts A fresh independence push in Catalonia would boost the electoral prospects of the PP and the far-right Vox party across Spain. Whether to cooperate with Vox in government could become the main issue of division within the PP. The return to traditional two-party competition between the PP and PSOE would increase the prospect of more stable governments.

Abstract The debate about the ‘just price’ has ancient origin and returns forcefully to the scene when, in the event of crises of various kinds, there is a rapid and significant increase in prices of given goods or services. The main issue is whether price increases of such a nature could, or should, be considered illicit and ground the issue of sanctions against the firms increasing prices, thus focusing on a macro-systemic level of analysis. The central part of the article reviews different theories on what a ‘just price’ should be and focuses on the idea that a price is ‘just’ when it functions as an index of relative scarcity in free markets. It is claimed that such a function deserves protection by Italian and EU law. Therefore price adjustments in response to shocks cannot and should not be considered illegal: it is unacceptable to sanction private firms by attributing them the wrong of not having substituted themselves, at their own expense, for the exercise of a public function (that of making sure that price increases do not put at risk solidarity and other constitutional principles).

Parting and divorce are situations that are not only the result of conflicts, but also their causes, especially if they concern parents of minor children. A problem then arises regarding the establishment of contact between the secondary parent and the child, which may be difficult if the disputes that led to the separation remain unresolved or other court cases are pending at the same time. The parties, during or after divorce, often submit a request to the court to regulate the frequency and form of meetings between the secondary parent and the child, which seems to be the main issue of misunderstandings. After a deeper analysis of the relationship between former partners, it turns out, that the lack of ability to establish contact with the child is the result of the accumulation of other disputes and unresolved misunderstandings. The presented fragments of qualitative analyzes of psychological and pedagogical opinions prepared by the Opinion Team of Forensic Specialists, illustrating the assumption that the dispute over contact may be related to other conflicts between former spouses, are part of a qualitative project focused around divorce-related conflicts. The aim of the research is to identify the effects of strong conflict between parents and the lack of communication between them after divorce for family relationships and the child functioning.

Technology-led industrialization has become a main issue in Third World countries and in Eastern and Central Europe. Professors of engineering universities, researchers of public and private institutes, engineers and managers in industry and government officials are becoming deeply involved in technological and socio-economic issues for sustainable industrial development with environmental protection. UNESCO sees cooperation among universities, industry and government as a key strategy in the process of industrialization. This article describes UNESCO's various projects and initiatives designed to establish and encourage such cooperation.
