Usability is one of the characteristics that compose the multi-dimension concept of information systems' quality. Technology improvements enable the building of information systems to be used "any place, any time", through mobile handheld devices and wireless networks. Usability is threatened by the use of mobile-wireless information systems, especially because of the use of small devices with tiny screens, the difficulty to operate and the use during mobility. Therefore, there is a need to measure the usability characteristic, in order to define the level of quality of such information systems. This paper introduces the definitions of usability, and presents the definition of new metrics, defined in order to measure the quality level of usability of mobile-wireless information systems. These metrics were empirically validated using four different experiments, based on handheld devices.

This study aimed to analyze the impact on the Information Systems Quality on the Strategic Flexibility in Jordanian tourism and travel companies in capital Amman. To achieve the goals of this study, the questionnaire has been developed to collect data which has been distributed over (130) individual through the survey population, (100) individuals had been studied, which represents 77%. The study reached to a group of results: 1. the perceptions of the people in question were fluctuating between high and moderate toward the level of the availability of Information Systems Quality and all of its dimensions in the Jordanian tourism and travel companies in capital Amman. Whereas their perceptions of the Strategic Flexibility were all moderate. 2. There is a statistical significance impact on the Information Systems Quality dimensions (Usability, Availability, Response Time) on the Strategic Flexibility for Jordanian tourism and travel companies in capital Amman. The study recommends the questioned companies’ administrations to draw attention to the perspectives of the Information Systems users when updating the systems design to improve the dimension of the Systems adaptation, also to bring the researchers attention to do more researches concern the Information Systems Services Quality, Information Quality and the Strategic Flexibility to complete the elements of Information Systems efficiency.

Business organizations are still struggling to improve the quality of information systems (IS) after many research efforts and years of accumulated experience in delivering them. The IS community is not short on prescriptions for improving quality; however the utterances are somewhat cacophonous as proponents of quality-enhancing approaches hyperbolize claims of their efficacy and/or denigrate older approaches, often ignoring the importance of context. In this chapter we undertake an extensive review of the IS quality literature to balance the many perspectives of stakeholders in this heterogeneous community with the necessarily varied prescriptions for producing high-quality systems. We develop an IS quality model, which distills determinants of IS product quality into effects attributable to people, processes, and practices and denote that IS success results from the combination of discernible IS quality and stakeholders’ perceptions of IS quality. This chapter serves as a general introduction to the detailed analyses of topics that follow in subsequent chapters but also provides insights that are not covered elsewhere in the book.

The article explores modern information and telecommunication technologies, which are the basis of information processes in education. The fundamentals of improving the quality of student training from the point of view of the development of a vocational education system are investigated. The authors explore the definition of an innovative educational environment. It is proved that professional IT education is the basis for improving its quality level and has certain advantages over other types of knowledge, providing flexibility due to modern technological features, including the use of QR coding information.

The growing attendance at seminars and conferences dedicated to quality programs attests to the increasing recognition of the continued importance of quality. Unfortunately, in many organizations, this intensified quality focus has not been effectively applied to information systems — a surprising outcome given the many demonstrations of a direct relationship between information systems delivery process and information systems quality and success. In this chapter, we analyze process-centered contributions and solutions to the increasing challenges of producing high-quality systems. We provide a balanced overview of evidence that has emerged from practical, real-world experiences and empirical research studies, an overview that incorporates the positions of both proponents and opponents of process-centricity. We then provide an assessment of the contexts in which software process improvements and quality- enhancing initiatives can thrive.

Machining of different materials brings increasing of productivity, economical effectivity and quality of work piece. Constant development of Robotics and information systems brings new views of using robots in a process of production. Instead of using robots for a purpose of manipulation with work pieces, it is possible to use a robot directly for machining. Robotics machining technology has its advantage in application, which represents an adequate alternative in machining of metals on tradition of machine systems. The aim of the suggested plan of the experiment is to identify the optimal approach and combinations of each parameter during milling.

Traditionally the production quality of components is described by “acceptable quality levels” (AQL). Agreements, referring to this principle, determine the acceptance or refusal of batches that have been sample tested. An acceptable quality of level is interpreted as a tolerated limit. In reality true values of quality must be better. An AQL value cannot define a real quality level. Furthermore, increasing requirements for component quality lead to low figures for the permissible amount of faulty devices in batches, and the method of sample testing becomes insufficient.For these reasons it seems to be of major importance to establish a better standard for the definition of quality. The application oriented description of quality data offers a possible solution. A good exchange of experience between supplier and user, based on a close and quality loop, is necessary.For contractual purposes AQL values remain important, but their meaning needs a new interpretation.
