The article discusses the design of the separator of the press granulator for processing wax raw materials and obtaining wax and granulated Merv. The wax raw material in the loading hopper is heated by direct current heat. Research of the obtained granules of the nerves to the test on a tensile testing machine IR-5047-50-03 has been conducted. It was found that the processing of wax raw materials by the separator press granulator is low-cost, efficient, environmentally friendly and the wax yield is 99%.

Waterborne polyurethane waterproofing composite has been prepared using polyurethane emulsion, cement, sand, and distilled water as raw materials, respectively. The compression performance of the samples has been determined by tensile testing machine. The microstructure of the samples has been observed by metallographic microscope. At the same time, the water resisting property of samples has been presented. The result shows that the surface of samples becomes the more smoothing with the increase ratio of cement to sand. The best compressive strength and water resisting property have been obtained when the weight of polyurethane emulsion to distilled water was 1:5 and the ratio of sand to cement was 2.1:1.

ABSTRACTThe fatigue behavior of a low-cost Zr52.1Ti5Cu17.9Ni14.6Al10Y0.4 (at%) (ZrCuNi-based) bulk-metallic glass (BMG) prepared by industrial-grade material was investigated under three-point bending loading modes. In order to obtain the fatigue stress-life (S-N) data, stress-controlled experiments were conducted using a computer-controlled material test system electrohydraulic testing machine at 60 Hz with a 0.1 R ratio in the air at room temperature. The fatigue limit (~174 MPa) in stress amplitude and fatigue ratio (~0.14) of this BMG is comparative to the similar BMG (Vit-105) prepared by high pure raw materials. The crack initiated from inclusions near the rectangular corners at the outer surface of the rectangular beam due to stress concentration. The striations and vein-like patterns were observed in the crack propagation region and fast fracture region, respectively.

SUMMARYThe use of a durometer to assess hardness of onion bulbs is described, and compared with the use of a tensile testing machine. Results from the two tests were closely correlated, and significant varietal differences were detected in bulb hardness by both machines. The durometer is of particular value because of the simplicity and non-destructive nature of the test procedure.

AbstractA pre-economic feasibility study was undertaken to determine the potential of cereal straw for industrial utilization in Minnesota. Specifically, utilizing straw for pulp and paper manufacture was of interest. The availability of cereal straw fiber supplies at various locations across the state of Minnesota, along with pre-processing issues such as transportation, harvesting, handling, and storage, are discussed and priced. The greatest economic advantage of straw for industrial use appears to be the low cost of the raw material compared to traditional raw materials. This also provides an excellent opportunity for additional income for farmers. The methodology and information provided here should be helpful in evaluating the feasibility of utilizing straw for other industrial purposes in other parts of the world. However, in some Third World countries, long-standing on-farm, traditional uses of cereal straws for fuel, fiber, and animal feed may limit their availability for industrial utilization.

The article contains the analysis of thermoplastics used in prototyping machine parts. We used several types of experimental samples with different filling percentages. The equipment on which the experimental studies were carried out is shown. During the experiment, a specialized tensile testing machine was used. The experimental samples were installed in the developed centering device. Normal conditions were observed during the tests. The results of an experimental tensile study of PLA-plastic specimens are presented. The typical stress-strain diagram of an experimental sample is described, which describes the dependence of stress on relative deformation. An equation of the linear dependence of the tensile strength on the percentage of filament filling has been compiled, which makes it possible to determine the tensile strength of the product at any percentage of the filling of the plastic filament. The assessment is adequately verified by Fisher's criterion. Recommendations for filament filling in prototyping machine parts are given.

Abstract This study discusses the use of fly ash waste from coal burning on the manufacture of PCC (Portland composite cement) at PT. XYZ Lampung. The purpose of this research is to look at the technical studies and the efficiency of raw materials in the use of fly ash in cement making, in this case PCC cement (Portland Composite Cement). The steps taken in analyzing the data in this study were viewed from a technical aspect by means of a physical test, namely the cement compressive strength test at the age of 3 days, 7 days, and 28 days using the Compression Testing Machine. This test was conducted to see the comparison of the compressive strength of PCC cement using limestone and fly ash as raw materials, then calculate the difference in raw material costs in the year before and after the replacement of limestone with fly ash. The results showed that cement with the addition of fly ash after 3 days, 7 days and 28 days had an increased compressive strength value, which increased 21.69%, 16.07% and 8.05% respectively of the compressive strength of cement using limestone. The use of fly ash as a substitute for limestone has an effect on the cost of raw materials, where the difference between the cost of raw materials in 2019 and the cost of raw materials in 2018 is Rp. 39,440,952,074.

 This study aimed to decide how to design a kart chassis and the strength of the welded joints. In this design, the chassis frame is made of tubular profile steel, which is designed to withstand most of the loads in a vehicle. The chassis was designed using a computer application, namely Auto CAD 2007. Assembly using carbon steel pipes connected using SMAW welding with E6013 RB 2.6 mm welding wire with a current of 75 A, 1G place. The test is carried out with a tensile testing machine. The material is pulled past the most stretch elasticity limit until finally, the specimen reaches the limit (breaks). The tensile test takes about 3-5 minutes with a load of 10-20N. The test results show the average tensile strength of the iron pipe is 0.512 Mpa.
