The present research examines whether the pre-service teachers’ preparation in using digital tools in their teaching develops their acceptance of these tools for teachings. The research also examines the mediation of self-efficacy, anxiety of using digital tools for teaching mathematics and science and enjoyment of this use between the constructs of acceptance of digital tools for teaching. We used the TAM questionnaire in addition to scales that measure enjoyment, self-efficacy and anxiety. Forty-eight mathematics and science pre-service teachers participated in the study. We analyzed the collected data using SPSS 21. The research results indicate that the pre-service teachers’ preparation resulted in significant differences in their scores of affective and usage constructs associated with their acceptance of digital tools for mathematics and science teaching, except in the scores of anxiety. Self-efficacy proved to be a partial mediator between attitude and intention-to-use. Enjoyment proved to be a partial mediator between ease-of-use and attitude, but not between usefulness and attitude. Moreover, enjoyment proved to be a partial mediator between attitude and intention-to-use. The prime objective of this study was to develop and validate the Technology Adoption and Gratification (TAG) Model to evaluate the adoption and gratification of lecturers in using ICT facilities for their teaching and research purposes in higher education. The second objective of this study was to evaluate the cross-cultural validation of the causal structure of the TAG model. A total of 396 lecturers were collected from two public universities, namely, University of Malaya in Malaysia and Jiaxing University in China using stratified random sampling procedure. The questionnaire's validity was established through Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) using SPSS version 21.0. The data was analyzed applying Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS version 18. The findings of the research using the TAG model discovered that the computer self-efficacy of the lecturers had a positive direct impact on their perceived usefulness and ease of use, while the latter two factors also had a significant direct impact on gratification and intention to use, separately. Meanwhile, gratification and actual use of ICT facilities were directly affected by intention to use. Moreover, computer self-efficacy had a positive and significant indirect impact on gratification and intention to use mediated by perceived usefulness and ease of use, respectively. In addition to lecturers' perceived ease of use and usefulness had a significant indirect effect on their gratification mediated by intention to use. The results of the invariance analysis of the TAG model also demonstrated that the model was valid for measuring lecturers' adoption and gratification in using ICT facilities. However, the TAG model works differently in cross-cultural settings. The findings contribute to the existing body of knowledge in the field of ICT by developing and validating the applicability of the TAG Model within institutions of higher education. Once validated the model could then be applied by future researchers, academicians and practitioners in the diverse context of education.

This study was conducted to investigate e-learning acceptance and factors influencing higher institution students in Brunei Darussalam. Among the factors involved in this study were perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, self-efficacy, technology availability, and usage and intention to use. Technology acceptance models (TAM) were used as a basis for the study and for hypothesizing the effects of such variables on the use of e-learning. The findings of this study found that there is significant influence of self-efficacy to perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness while perceived ease of use has direct impact to perceived usefulness and perceived usefulness has influence on intention to use towards e-learning systems.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to identify factors influencing the adoption of mobile banking in India and develop and empirically validate a model explaining the behavioural intention to use mobile banking in the Indian banking sector. Design/methodology/approach In this study, a model is developed and proposed to explain customers’ intention to use mobile banking. The model comprises six constructs, namely, perceived ease of use, computer self-efficacy, social influence, perceived financial cost, security, and trust. The model also describes the relationship between perceived ease of use and computer self-efficacy, as well as that between security and trust. The proposed model was tested by using a survey method, with a sample of 855 bank customers from public, private, foreign, and cooperative banks in India. Structural equation modelling analysis was performed with AMOS 16.0. Findings The proposed theoretical model was found to predict, with statistical significance, the intention to use mobile banking, explaining 76.9 per cent of the variance in the dependent variable. The results found that security, computer self-efficacy, perceived ease of use, and perceived financial cost, in that order of influence, affect customers’ intention to adopt mobile banking. Practical implications The results obtained will help both academic researchers and practitioners explain, understand, and elucidate the status of mobile banking in India, as well as helping them formulate strategies to expedite the use of mobile banking. Originality/value The adoption of mobile banking in India is in a nascent stage compared with developed countries such as the USA, the UK, and Finland, but it is expected to increase or surpass the rate of adoption of internet banking in those countries. Further, only limited research to date has examined the adoption of mobile banking in India, especially the drivers and inhibitors of mobile banking adoption.

With the popularity of the health and wellness trend in recent years, smartphone fitness applications have become more and more popular. Thus, this study explored factors affecting the behavioral intention to use and the actual usage behavior of smartphone fitness apps from technical, health, and social perspectives by integrating the Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). We examined whether perceived usefulness, perceived ease-of-use, social influence, self-efficacy, goal-setting, and self-monitoring predict usage behavior. Based on the survey responses of 1066 smartphone fitness apps users, we revealed that all of the variables, except for self-monitoring, significantly influence usage behavior, while behavioral intention acts as a total mediator between perceived usefulness, perceived ease-of-use and usage behavior. Drawing on the research findings, we suggest that influencing behavioral intention to use a fitness app can be an effective method to increase its adoption. Therefore, app developers need to pay attention to interventions that seek to enhance the usefulness of the app, provide professional counseling, as well as an opportunity for effortless goal setting features.

Abstrak: Aplikasi Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) Pada Komputerisasi Kegiatan Pertanahan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) Pada Komputerisasi Kegiatan Pertanahan. This research article integrates the technology acceptance model and diffusion of innovation theory to explore the factors predicting the continuance intention to use WECHAT mobile payment services in China. The results showed that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived service quality, social influence, internet self-efficacy, relative advantage, compatibility, and complexity of were all significant predictor of the continued intention to use WECHAT mobile payment services. However, trust in the internet was not significant determinants of the continued intention to use. The results also demonstrated that internet self-efficacy is a predictor of perceived ease of use, relative advantage, compatibility and complexity of mobile payment services. Again, perceived ease of use and social influence were found to have a significant impact on the perceived service quality of WECHAT mobile payment. The implications of these findings on the adoption of mobile payments are discussed.

This paper proposes a new model to test the technology acceptance model which proposed by Davis in order to study the influence factors on acceptance and use of handheld e-book readers. The main conclusions are as follows: 1.There are significant correlation between self-efficacy and usefulness, without significant correlation between self-efficacy and other variables; 2.There are significant correlation between product feature and intention to use, without significant correlation between product feature and other variables; 3.There are significant correlation between usefulness and ease of use as well as intention to use, without significant correlation between usefulness and other variables; 4.There are significant correlation between ease of use and usefulness, without significant correlation between ease of use and other variables; 5. There are no significant correlation among intention to use, self-efficacy, product feature, usefulness and ease of use.
