The study aims to investigate some characteristics of fourth-grade mathematics teachers in Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, which may affect students’ mathematical achievement. Thus, the research utilized fourth-grade students’ data, as the average score of students was (398) compared to (535) in the Unites States. Post fact design was used with a sample of (4174) students and (170) teachers in Saudi Arabia, and (8353) students and (451) teachers in the United States. Result indicated that teacher’s gender, age, educational level, and qualification are significant variables that impact mathematical achievement in Saudi Arabia. Results also showed that teachers’ years of experience, hours of professional development spent by the teacher during the past two years, and teacher gender are significant variable which impact students’ mathematical achievement in America. As for the teachers’ gender, findings showed significant differences were in favor of students taught by female teachers in both countries.

The current study aimed to identify the reality of the institutional academic accreditation of Saudi universities in the light of the experiences of some countries, and to achieve this goal the comparative descriptive approach was used to describe the actual reality of academic accreditation in the following four comparison countries Saudi Arabia, the United States of America, Japan and the United Kingdom, in terms of the supervisors of academic accreditation, academic accreditation standards, and academic accreditation procedures, and then to analyze the similarities and differences between them. The study found that there was a significant similarity between the four countries in accreditation objectives and some accreditation criteria and accreditation procedures, and differed in the number of accreditation institutions. In light of this, some benefits have been extracted to develop the institutional academic accreditation of Saudi universities. The researchers also made a number of recommendations and proposals to raise the standards of academic accreditation in the kingdom's universities to meet their counterparts in the comparison countries.

This paper aims to shed light on distance education in the United States of America and compares it to distance education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in order to benefit from it in improving the processes of education and distance learning and how to overcome the problems facing distance education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study used the comparative method. Among the most important findings of the study: Distance education centers contribute to literacy and educating the elderly, providing individual and varied educational resources, ensuring freedom to choose, saving time and money, the distance education system allows choosing the most appropriate time for students, self- discipline, and developing students ’intellectual skills. Among the most important recommendations of the study: Paying attention to increasing distance education centers to work on raising the cultural, scientific and social level among members of society, the necessity of using different types of distance education (simultaneous and asynchronous education), working to provide a safe environment and better communication among all students, working to provide a new world of opportunities for distance education students, and working to provide educational outcomes for those who missed learning opportunities from members of the community.
