Abstract The Molecular Evolutionary Genetics Analysis (MEGA) software enables comparative analysis of molecular sequences in phylogenetics and evolutionary medicine. Here, we introduce the macOS version of the MEGA software. This new version eliminates the need for virtualization and emulation programs previously required to use MEGA on Apple computers. MEGA for macOS utilizes memory and computing resources efficiently for conducting evolutionary analyses on macOS. It has a native Cocoa graphical user interface that is programmed to provide a consistent user experience across macOS, Windows, and Linux. MEGA for macOS is available from www.megasoftware.net free of charge.

How can we apply an assessment lens to our own assessment practices? To answer this question, we follow a mixed-methods approach by applying the assessment ecosystem design described in the recent ARL Assessment Program Visioning Task Force Recommendations (December 17, 2017). Our research synthesizes the evidence and insights gathered through three methods: a case study analysis, a comparative analysis, and a gap analysis.First, we examine a case study of a UX and Assessment (UX&A) program recently developed at Montana State University (MSU). The vision of the UX&A program at MSU is to build and sustain a library that is useful, usable, and desirable for our diverse community of users. UX&A personnel work collaboratively with other Library departments to continually measure, assess, and improve users' experience of Library services and instruction, both physical and online. This new UX&A program was developed in tandem with a new library strategic plan, which is based on the Balanced Scorecard framework. With the new assessment program and strategic plan in place, we conducted a second phase of research: a comparative analysis of the MSU UX&A program vis-à-vis the assessment landscape described in the ARL Recommendations. In this analysis, we highlight which ecosystem elements are currently in place, which elements are in development, and which still need to be developed at MSU.Next, we conducted a gap analysis comparing the ARL recommendations with established and emerging user experience and assessment programs in place at other research libraries to determine if there are additional elements outside of these recommendations that may be useful for describing, assessing, and improving a library’s assessment framework. Finally, we synthesized the insights gathered from our meta-assessment to create an enhanced version of the ARL ecosystem as applied to the MSU library. In terms of practical impact, this enhanced meta-assessment ecosystem can be applied to comprehensively evaluate and improve a library’s user experience and assessment program. Our research ultimately demonstrates and models an approach for meta-assessment that can help inform the development of more effective and sustainable library UX and assessment programs, for the ultimate benefit of our users.

Mobile Application Development is getting to be additionally difficult with differing stages and their product improvement packs. Lately, mobile computing has been having truly a revolution. Anyways one of the difficulties that has been conceived due to this revolution is technology and device fragmentation leaving developers stupefied. Platform developers, device manufacturers accompany such a variety of gimmicks and functionalities that it has been hard to give developers a less demanding method for creating applications and running the application on every cell phone with expense and time compelling measures. To lessen the expense of development and connectivity with maximum users across a plethora of platforms, developers are relocating to cross-platform application development tools. In this paper, we give a few choice criteria past the portability concerns toward picking suitable cross-platform solution for application development. Nonetheless, we discovered that cross-platform solutions might be suggested by and large, yet they are still constrained if high prerequisites apply with respect to execution, convenience or native user experience.

Abstract Since the importance of storing information has risen in early 2010’s, devices being used by people are continuing to change, showing the trend of transitioning on to the faster and more advanced storage technologies. Most of unexperienced users are unaware of benefits of current generation drives, such as various types of SSDs, and continue using legacy disks, unwillingly crippling their user experience. To determine the popularity of different storage devices, a questionnaire has been conducted. In this article testing of currently present consumer-grade storage devices mostly with use of software called AS SSD Benchmark, can be found. Also, comparison of the most crucial performance metrics has been conducted during the study, which lead to a conclusion that modern storage technologies such as SSDs and Cloud storage, provide a great solution to a problem of processing data, as well as storing big volumes of it.

One of the ways to evaluate a system is from Textual Evaluation. This type of evaluation consider the textual user’s opinions to infer aspects of the interaction with the system. Although this method covers many texts and consi- ders spontaneous narratives of the users, it takes a lot of time and effort. Some authors have reported on the need to compare evaluations techniques in order to investigate their effectiveness in revealing issue or to supplement the results of a systems assessment. This study presents a comparative analysis between the textual evaluation and user testing. A case study was performed evaluating the usability and user experience of a health app. As a result, the techniques were analyzed based on aspects that involved describing the results, resources needed and description of problems and users.

ABSTRACTThis thesis examined the comparison of user experience between two mobile apps, which are Go-Jek and Grab by conducting a survey to look for differences in the experience felt by one group of users of both applications. User experience is measured through the sub-variable: happiness, task success, earnings and uptime. The method used in this research is descriptive comparative analysis with quantitative approach. The research object is user experience. Analysis of the data is using paired t-test. As a result from this research, that the t value obtained for 2,420 is greater than t table with df = 67 by 1,996, so H0 is rejected. So it was found that these mobile apps (Go-Jek and Grab) have differences regarding their User Experience.
