Many industrial sites require real-time monitoring of temperature, to prevent the temperature is too high or too low damage to the equipment. This article on the basis of research on the structure of programmable logic controller and it is given a comparative study based on programmable logic controller hardware design and the current temperature sensor. The design of PLC control flow, combined with the actual situation, the completion of a complete temperature monitoring system based on programmable controllers control scheme, which given the specific design methods and control architecture.

Abstract This research aims to design an automatic garbage collection system using a Programmable logic controller (PLC) and an Arduino Uno waste monitoring system. The function of this tool is to make people easier for clean marine debris, which is usually clean manually. In this case, operators or cleaners are only sufficient to wait for information in SMS if the trash bin is fully loaded. This study used an LDR sensor as input to respond to the state of the wastebasket and a DC motor used as a transmission system in transporting and moving the position of the wastebasket. In addition, using the ultrasonic sensor as input in the trash bin and a GSM SIM 900 A module functions as a medium for sending messages that the trash bin was full. Resultant of this study indicate that the tool can lift ±0.5 kg of waste per hour, with the heaviest weight that can be lifted ±0.7 kg and the lightest weight of ±0.5 kg with the most types of rubbish obtained in the form of plastic and other small debris.

In this paper, a smart and centralized traffic light control and monitoring system is proposed to control the modern transportation systems and make the city safer, using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and programmable electronic microcontrollers. A camera is used to monitor the mishaps during the traffic flow of vehicles. The system has four modes, i.e., auto-control mode (ACM), manual control mode (MCM), central control mode (CCM), and remote control mode (RCM). In the auto-control mode (ACM), the traffic light signals are controlled automatically through programmable electronic microcontrollers at specific times, while the manual control mode (MCM) controls the traffic light signals manually (on–off switches) according to the traffic congestion. The central control mode (CCM) is considered to be a centralized mode, where the programmable logic controller (PLC) is used by a computer workstation. In this mode, the traffic light signals are controlled by a ladder logic program of the PLC. The third mode, RCM, is linked with the second mode, CCM; in this mode, the traffic light signals are remotely controlled through the software by transferring programmable logic controller (PLC) functions to the software interface. As a result, this transportation system can also be controlled remotely. The designed system delivers suitable, flexible, and reliable control for traffic signaling and transportation.

Sistem kontrol elektropneumatik telah banyak digunakan dalam menunjang pekerjaan di dunia industri,perkembangan teknologi ini harus segera direspons oleh dosen pada perguruan tinggi vokasi yang memiliki peran sebagai pencetak calon tenaga ahli siap kerjauntuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menguji kelayakan desain media pembelajaran sistem kontrol elektropneumatik berbasis <em>programmable logic controller</em>, (2) mendeskripsikan respons mahasiswa dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran sistem kontrol elektropneumatik berbasis <em>programmable logic controller</em> dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan <em>Research and Development</em> (R&amp;D) dengan melalui beberapa tahap, yaitu tahap analisis potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain, uji coba produk, revisi produk, dan uji coba pemakaian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar validasi ahli yang diberikan oleh 3 orang ahli dan angket respons yang diperoleh dari mahasiswa. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu: (1) desain pembelajaran sistem kontrol elektropneumatik berbasis <em>programmable logic controller</em> mendapatkan nilai validasi yang diberikan oleh para ahli dengan rata-rata nilai 3,51 sehingga menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran dalam kategori baik dan layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran, (2) respons mahasiswa dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran sistem kontrol elektropneumatik berbasis <em>programmable logic controller </em>dalam kegiatan pembelajaran diperoleh nilai persentase 84,34%mahasiswa memberikan respons menarik, dengan demikian hasil respons mahasiswa termasuk dalam kategori baik.
