The problem of treatment of community-acquired pneumonia(САР) for many years remains an urgent health issue worldwide, and the disease itself is dangerous for a healthy person at any age, especially for children and the elderly. All publications on this topic reflect anxiety and dissatisfaction with the current situation, but no one anywhere offers a radical real solution. All observed proposals to improve the results of treatment of САР are repeated for many years and declare the acceleration of bacteriological diagnosis combined with the development of more effective antimicrobial drugs. The ineffectiveness of solving the problem in this way has only begun to fix the attention of specialists. "Despite advances in antimicrobial therapy, САР continues to be a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in adults".

Abstract Accurate measurement of shoulder motion is critical in assessing impairment following shoulder disorders. To this end, measuring and recording joint motion are important steps in diagnosing, determining the severity and progression of a disorder, assessing the results of treatment, and evaluating impairment. Shoulder movement usually is composite rather than in a single plane, so isolating single movements is challenging. Universal goniometers with long arms are used to measure shoulder motion, and testing must be performed and recorded consistently. Passive motion may be carried out cautiously by the examiner; two measurements of the same patient by the same examiner should lie within 10° of each other. Shoulder extension and flexion are illustrated. Maximal flexion of the shoulder also includes slight external rotation and abduction, and controlling or eliminating these components during evaluation is challenging. Abduction and adduction are illustrated. Deficits in external rotation may occur in patients who have undergone reconstructive procedures with an anterior approach; deficits in internal rotation may result from issues with shoulder instability. The authors recommend recording the shoulder's range of motion measurements according to the Upper Extremity Impairment Evaluation Record in the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Fourth Edition.

Background: The aim of this study is to report the short-term results of catheter-directed foam sclerotherapy (CDFS) in the treatment of axial saphenous vein incompetence. Patients and methods: Data of all patients undergoing CDFS for symptomatic primary incompetence of the great or small saphenous vein were prospectively collected. Treatment results in terms of occlusion rate and patients’ grade of satisfaction were analysed. All successfully treated patients underwent clinical and duplex follow-up examinations one year postoperatively. Results: Between September 2006 and September 2010, 357 limbs (337 patients) were treated with CDFS at our institution. Based on the CEAP classification, 64 were allocated to clinical class C3 , 128 to class C4, 102 to class C5 and 63 to class C6. Of the 188 patients who completed the one year follow up examination, 67 % had a complete and 14 % a near complete obliteration of the treated vessel. An ulcer-healing rate of 54 % was detected. 92 % of the patients were satisfied with the results of treatment. We registered six cases of thrombophlebitis and two cases of venous thromboembolism, all requiring treatment. Conclusions: The short-term results of CDFS in patients with axial vein incompetence are acceptable in terms of occlusion and complications rates.

Under our supervision there were 66 women with a diagnosis of "dysplasia of cervical epithelium mild" on the background of persistent human papillomavirus infection (PVI). With the aim of improving the treatment of dysplasia of the 1st degree in rehabilitation activities after cryoablation there were applied drugs Distreptaza and inducer of interferon. The results of treatment were evaluated after 3 months. For patients of the 1st group (18 women) who underwent only cryoablation, the efficacy of therapy was 77.8%. In the 2nd group (22 women) after cryoablation was used inducer of interferon, the effectiveness made up of 90.9%. The maximum effect of treatment - 100% recorded in 3rd group (26 patients), where after cryoablation was carried out treatment with Distreptaza and inducer of interferon. The results of treatment obtained in this group allow to recommend the complex therapy of PVI in conditions of female consultation. Key words: dysplasia, HPV, cryosurgery, Distreptaza, inducer of interferon.
