Visual Basic Application for Excel is a simple program language and has the power to process data quickly, let alone the utilization of math functions in Microsoft Excel can help work on Excel display more interactive so that teachers can create props inside Excel. The advantages of Microsoft Excel compared to mathematical software are the many math functions and images available in the form of shapes or pictures. With the availability of VBA, math and image functions in Microsoft Excel, teachers can design the creation of media related to mathematics learning especially helping to develop the ability of junior high school students who have difficulty connecting mathematics lessons with basic mathematics knowledge requirements. In general, that most students in Indonesia have not solved mathematical problems, therefore, by using VBA for Excel the ability of junior high school students to improve in the usual way significantly with a t-test with 0.006 <0.05 and there is an association between Trust self-comfidence student with students' mathematical comprehension skills with a contingency value with a significant amount of 0.016 <0.05 with a contingency coefficient of 0.525 including a moderate association

The ability to think mathematically includes many mental activities which involve the workings of the brain. To describe students’ mathematical thinking ability, one of the efforts that can be done is to apply the mathematical problem-based learning model. It involves students to solve a problem through scientific method stages, so that students can learn the knowledge related to the problem and also have the ability to solve the problem. This study aims to describe students’ mathematical thinking ability through Mathematical Problem-Based Learning Model. This type of research is qualitative. The subjects of the study were senior high school students in the city of Parepare. The data collections were conducted by observing the learning process in class and giving the assignment/test to the students. The collected data were then analyzed qualitatively. Based on the results of research and discussion it is concluded that the students ability to think have sequences in the activities of mathematical thinking with the application of mathematical problems-based learning model. Therefore, the students’ mathematical thinking ability is described as follows: (1) identification stage of the problem, (2) the grouping stages, and (3) drawing conclusions.

This study aimed to examine students 'attitudes or perceptions of mathematics learning, attitudes towards the Application of PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflection, Recite, Review) Learning Strategies, and problem posing mathematical problems. Data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive data analysis, and quantitative analysis was carried out using the Likert scale. The population in this study were Year 11 students in the city of Bandung, and the sample was one of Year 11 Social classroom as the experimental class, selected by purposive sampling. The sample was given treatment using PQ4R learning. The results showed that students taking PQ4R learning had significant attitudes towards mathematics. This can be seen from the high interest and motivation. Student responses to PQ4R learning and questions were also very good. This provides good information about students' attitudes towards learning mathematics in high school so that they can apply good and correct mathematics. Learning mathematics requires an analysis of students' attitudes to feel happy and motivated in learning mathematics on an ongoing basis.

Research objective was to find effect of local culture-problem-based learning method application with used GeoGebra in mathematics learning for senior high school students. Type of this research was quasi-experiment research with post-test only group design. Research sample used three learning class that was chosen by purposive sampling method and was selected from senior high school in Sumatera Utara, Indonesia. Students in experiment-I class was taught with local culture-problem based learning used GeoGebra, students in experiment-II class was taught with problem-based learning and students in control class taught with conventional learning method. Data was analysed with descriptive and inferential through one way-ANAVA test then continued with Tuckey test if data had normal and homogenic distribution, if data had abnormal and/or heterogenic distribution then it was analysed with Kruskal-Wallis test and continued with Mann-Whitney U-Test. Research result showed average value of students’ statistical thinking ability test from experiment-I class higher than experiment-II and control class. Based on this research result, then mathematic teachers on senior high school were suggested to applicate local culture-problem based learning with GeoGebra method in mathematics learning and developed mathematic matters which close to students’ local culture experience.
