Geography education is realized in learning that combines the study of physical and human geography in a spatial context. GIS Learning in universities is directed to be able to equip students in the use of spatial information which must be accompanied by the ability to manage it cognitively. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of Spatial Thinking Ability learning materials development. The model used in this research and development study was the Dick & Carey model. Field trial was carried out by experimental research using a Quasi Experiment model. The trial design was Post-test Only, Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The trial was carried out on sixth-semester undergraduate students at Muhammadiyah Surakarta who had taken a GIS course with as many as 41 students. The activity took place in March 2018. In this study, some students were given treatment in spatial thinking ability learning. The result shows a U value of 56 and a W value of 209. When converted to a Z value, the value is -3.943. Sig value or P-Value of 0.000 <0.05.

Pamali is one of the rules in society that is socialized and taught by parents to children in the form of prohibitions accompanied by threats with the intention of making it a control over children's behavior. Every parent's advice certainly has a good intention, but often the prohibitions that are collected in the pamali category are difficult to understand and even there is no relevance between cause and effect if violated. However, this tradition is able to intervene and influence the logical thinking ability of adolescents in Banjar society. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects included some students of SMA Global Islamic Boarding School. The technique used in retrieval of information is purposive sampling, namely by taking research subjects who meet the following criteria: 1) students who are familiar with the term pamali, 2) students born in the Banjar community, 3) students who are included in the category of having a high and low logical mindset. The results showed that the pamali tradition as folklore has a vital role in influencing the logical thinking patterns of adolescents. This is shown by their fear which is more dominant than their belief in the pamali tradition. Teenagers who believe in the pamali tradition tend to have an excessive fear of the consequences that do contain a lot of bad luck in it. Adolescents who have low logical thinking skills tend to believe in the pamali tradition. Then when compared to teenagers who have good logical thinking skills, they tend to be better able to filter the impact of the pamali tradition.

Inner speaking, the covert talking that goes on inside a person's mind, can shape creative thought. How the phenomenological properties and quality of inner speaking correlate with a person's creative potential, however, is an open scientific problem. To explore this, participants ( n = 267) filled in the revised Varieties of Inner Speech Questionnaire and the revised Launay Slade Hallucination Scale (auditory subscale), and performed three tests of creative potential: one divergent (Alternative Uses Test) and two convergent thinking tests (Compound Remote Associates Test, short Hagen Matrices Test). The results showed that a tendency to engage in condensed and evaluative/ critical inner speaking negatively correlated with convergent thinking ability; and the results pointed toward a potential negative correlation of auditory hallucination proneness with divergent and convergent thinking ability. No evidence was found for a correlation of the dialogicality, imagining of others’ voices, or positive/regulatory aspect of the participants day-to-day inner speech, with creative potential. Herewith, the presented study contributes novel insight into the relationship between the varieties of inner speech and creative potential.

The study was carried out to assess the relationship between students' critical thinking abilities and their success in writing an argumentative essay. The descriptive-correlation design was used in this research. The respondents in this survey were a total of 310 Education major students. This is 22.32 percent of the 1387 students enrolled in the Education program. The 50-item questionnaire was based on the Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal from Pearson TalentLens to measure the student's study critical thinking abilities. The following conclusions were drawn: the students lack critical thinking ability; the students have difficulty in constructing argumentative essays; and the less critical the students are, the less performance they have in writing argumentative essays.
