in this paper, analysis of the fluid dynamics was carried out on hot air in drying mechanism of a gravure printing machine by applying the fluid dynamics and aerodynamics theories. The kinematical equation and the kinetic equation were established respectively and the RNG model was added according to flowing conditions of hot air. The CFD analysis model was established by adopting the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method to implement dynamic simulation analysis on air hot in the drying mechanism. Uniformity of drying was improved through adding clapboard and a flow guide plate to optimize the structure of air nozzles, so that the hot air convolutes for multi times on substrate and the utilization efficiency was increased.

A variety of friction exists during gravure printing machine run-time. The friction between gravure roller and scraping blade has a great effect on the printing quality and gravure printing endurance. In this article, the friction between gravure roller and scraping blade is studied from the micro-contact perspective. The qualitative research of the factors that affect the friction between gravure roller and scraping blade is done, in order to confirm the effect law of the printing speed, scraping blade angle and gravure printing machine vibration on the friction between gravure roller and scraping blade.

In order to achieve high-speed gravure printing machine energy consumption tested and analyzed process efficiently, put forward a kind of electric energy balance test and analysis method, using power analyzer acquire and record the electric energy balance parameters of motors input ports of the three-phase power supply, and processing the data with the method of successive difference. By means of experiment, tested and analyzed the main motor energy consumption of gravure printing machine, the results verify the feasibility of electric energy balance test method and the method of successive difference.

This paper presents the design of calendering machine and experimental results of calendering process. A particular pattern was printed on PET film by means of roll-to-roll gravure printing machine. The calendering process was applied to a set of samples and the effect was analyzed after measuring the surface roughness and the thickness of pattern. Although only mechanical pressure provided by a nip roll was applied during the calendering process, the experimental results indicate that the calendering process should be useful for enhancing the surface quality of roll-to-roll printed electronics products.
