The study of the adventive fraction of flora is a separate area of floristic research. General patterns of adventive species introduction consequences as well as their distribution throughout the territory are studied. Often, when studying the adventive fraction, the family spectrum is analyzed. In the paper we consider the adventive fraction of the flora on the territory of Samara-Ulyanovsk Volga Region, which is located within two natural zones: forest-steppe and steppe, four physical-geographical provinces and 15 districts. Each physical-geographical unit is characterized by its peculiarities of relief, geological structure, soils, vegetation and local climatic conditions. In the family spectrum of the adventive faction of Samara-Ulyanovsk Volga Region, it is possible to single out families that play a leading role in the formation of its composition. Based on the data on the adventive fractions of the floras of the physiographic regions and areas identified in the study area, it can be noted that the first four places in the spectrum are occupied by the following families Asteraceae, Poaceae, Brassicaceae and Chenopodiaceae. The list of these four leading families of the adventive fraction of the flora remains unchanged, but their order may be different. Probably, the differences in the natural conditions of the studied territories are reflected precisely in the order of the location of the leading families, since their composition does not change. The change in the composition of the leading four of the family spectrum can be observed on the scales of large areas: comparing the spectra of the adventive fractions of Ivanovo, Tver, Astrakhan Region, and other administrative divisions. Flora of various physical and geographical subdivisions of Samara-Ulyanovsk Volga Region, despite belonging to different natural zones, have similar family spectra of adventive fractions. They differ only in the presence of one or two families. For example, among the leading adventive families Rosaceae, Onagraceae and Rubiaceae were not in all cases.

The article describes the ways of using statistical methods in agricultural geography. The use of analysis of variance in determining the influence of geocomplexes of various ranks on the yield of plants and other parameters of farms is shown. It was found that yield variability, soil acidity, the proportion of pastures and fallow lands are less than 30% determined by the characteristics of the natural environment of geosystems and the variability of plant nutrients, stony and marshy soil, and the share of haymaking by 30-50%. Other elements of the structural organization of enterprises are more than half determined by the peculiarities of the territories of different levels. The process of determining a set of crops should be based on knowledge of the variability of their yields within the types of agricultural landscapes, and, if possible, at lower taxonomic levels. The degree of development of agricultural landscapes and the average size of the contour of the land is determined even when analyzing the conditions of the macroenvironment. The use of track analysis allows to identify the factors of direct impact on the crops which are divided into "active" and "potential". It has been established that all types of agricultural landscapes of the Upper Volga region can be divided into two groups according to the number of active and potential factors: geocomplexes with a homogeneous lithogenic basis and landscapes on two-membered sediments. The latter are distinguished by a large number of active factors and a wide range of affected crops. The design of crop rotations should take into account an individual set of factors affecting the production process. The methodology for assessing the productivity of agricultural landscapes can be based on the use of its integral indicators. The systems of measures that increase the degree of realization of the potential productivity of agricultural landscapes for cereal grass stands have been determined. They are combined into three groups: 1. Adaptive placement of grass stands depending on the granulometric composition and the geological structure of the soil. 2. Adaptive placement of grass stands and drainage irrigation amelioration. 3. Adaptive placement of grass stands, water melioration and land management activities. Identified areas of distribution of these groups of activities in the Upper Volga region.

Ancient lake sediments of Bibirevo section in the Yaroslavl and Kostroma Volga region are studied by means of graphical analysis of taxonomical structure of diatom complexes. This method allowed to record critical points (change of areas of stability) in the development of a Neopleistocene lake during the transition from stage to stage, as well as from phase to phase.

The analysis of geological and geophysical materials in order to study the peculiarities of the geological structure of the Vikulov Formation within the Vodorazdel license area was carried out. The presented factual material makes it possible to characterize the geological structure of the investigated area more informatively and for interpreting of seismic materials. The analysis of geological information (GIS and test results) confirms the approved water–oil contact (WOC) level in the investigated section of the deposit, which makes it possible to recalculate its reserves.
