Problem statement. Modern experience in designing rehabilitation facilities is very small and isrepresented mainly by mobile hospitals. The complexity and multivisibility of the considered problem indicates theneed for its further in-depth study. From the given material it is possible to draw a conclusion that architecture today isredirected to fast change of processes of clearing, the technological equipment.Purpose of the article. The article aims to solve the following tasks:− to conduct a retrospective analysis, to determine the temporary stages of formation and development of medicalinstitutions with a rehabilitation function;− to analyze domestic and foreign design experience;− identify factors influencing the formation of institutions with a rehabilitation function;− to conduct a comparative analysis of modern requirements for the design and construction of rehabilitationcenters in Europe, the United States, Russia, Ukraine, Syria.Conclusion. 1. It is established that the prerequisites for the establishment of rehabilitation centers were thefollowing: The number of disabled people is currently increasing among adults in Syria and Ukraine, as well as in mostcountries around the world, which in recent years has been developing dynamically medical systems for the treatmentof disabled people.Український журнал будівництва та архітектури, № 4 (004), 2021, ISSN (Print) 2710-0367, ISSN (Online) 2710-0375 66 2. It is determined that in the foreign approach to the rehabilitation of the disabled, special conditions are createdfor post-clinical treatment in the departments of clinics, hospitals and specialized centers. The study of foreign designexperience revealed the consistent development of the concept of creating a rehabilitation environment. It is determinedthat the block system of layout of buildings of the rehabilitation center prevails in foreign experience. The originalcorridor planning system of buildings of medical institutions, including rehabilitation centers, gave way to a neutraltype of recreational space.3. Modern experience in designing rehabilitation facilities is very limited and is represented mainly by mobilehospitals, after which, if necessary, the patient is transferred or to a military hospital, obsolete for decades of operation,to a general rehabilitation center where patients are treated for injuries.4. The complexity and multidimensionality of the problem indicates the need and feasibility of its further in-depthstudy.5. From the above we can conclude that today's architecture of ZMR is reoriented to the rapid change of processingprocesses and technological equipment. When designing complex hospital care systems, there is a desire to achievetheir maximum efficiency.6. Rehabilitation centers and hospitals are filled with various elements of infrastructure. They becomemultifunctional. Obviously, there is a tendency to turn the strict walls of hospitals into comfortable ones with complexinteriors.7. The planning structure of medical buildings is also changing. The use of corridor planning systems is decliningas they have become less convenient.8. Therefore, in order to implement the rehabilitation center and for its effective functioning in Ukraine, it isnecessary: at the legislative and practical levels to create rehabilitation departments in all hospitals, where highlyspecialized and formed rehabilitation teams will work; to translate the training of rehabilitation specialists into thehealth care system, as is the case, at least in the United States and European countries. In addition, there must befinancial support for the reform from the state.

This contribution will examine several theological methods used to understand morally egregious examples of historical dissent in the Catholic Church. From the 1600s to the late 1800s, large numbers of Catholics in the young United States dissented from the Holy See in one particularly egregious manner: their support for and defense of chattel slavery and the Atlantic slave trade. While chattel slavery is universally declared horrific and immoral, its vestiges have not been erased from church history, nor has its influence been eradicated in the modern experience of Christians in the United States today. After naming the contemporary problem caused by this historical example of dissent and analyzing theological approaches to ameliorate this problem, I will propose a theological-historical approach that may offer better solutions in the future.

Introduction: Stroke is one of the leading cause of disability and death in the United States (Benjamin et al., 2018). Inpatient rehabilitation is the gold standard treatment for post-acute care (Weinstein et al., 2016). Data indicate a discharge to inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs) following the acute stroke phase has increased (Buntin, Colla, & Escarce, 2009). The inpatient milieu provides a unique opportunity to examine predictors of functional outcomes using a captive sample. Thus, the current study aim is to identify factors associated with poststroke functional outcomes throughout inpatient rehabilitation. Method: This is a cross-sectional and retrospective analysis of data extracted from an administrative database during years 2005-2016 from 244,286 stroke patients across 30% of IRFs in the U.S. Inclusion criteria were patients at or above the age 18 with stroke as an admitting diagnosis using ICD 9/10 codes 430-438/I60-I69. Dependent variables were: admission Total FIM, Total FIM efficiency, discharge Total FIM, and length of stay (LOS). Results: Using separate regression analyses, marital status, admit year, type of admission, race/ethnicity, insurance type, sex, age, number of complications, number of comorbidities, and stroke type, emerged as significant predictors of functional outcomes throughout inpatient rehabilitation. Moreover, those with greater comorbidities and complications were associated with lower admission FIM total score, less total FIM efficiency, lower discharge FIM total score, and a longer LOS. Compared to NHWs, racial/ethnic people were associated with lower FIM scores throughout inpatient rehabilitation and a longer length of stay. Discussion: In this robust national dataset, data indicate clinical and sociodemographic factors are significantly associated with poststroke functional outcomes throughout inpatient rehabilitation. Implications are discussed within a framework of social determinants of health.

This special issue continues a two-year conversation about a #playrevolution in literacies research, theory, and practice. The juxtaposition of play and revolution is intentional, highlighting the tension between play's prosocial benefits and collaborative production and the rapid change, uncertainty, and violence in today's schools, where we desperately need more humanizing elements that build people's connections to one another. The #playrevolution calls educators and researchers to explore the (un)predictable, (un)expected knots emerging through the coalescence of play and literacies, while also considering the possibilities play holds for educational equity in contemporary times. Bringing together twelve educational researchers across the United States, Canada, and Australia, this #playrevolution special issue explores the lively ecology of play-literacies in a variety of spaces—traditional writing and storytelling workshops, digital dialogues, video games, teacher-education courses, makerspaces, and playgrounds—with learners from preschools and kindergartens to high schools and universities.

This article reviews a system that is in need of repair in the United States, and engineers are uniquely equipped to help fix it. Although the expenditure per capita on healthcare in the United States is higher than in any other country, the current US healthcare system cannot be sustained, and major improvements are needed. Lives unnecessarily lost each year in the United States due to medical errors are estimated to be as high as 98,000 and injuries over a million. The healthcare system is currently facing many problems and challenges, including rapid changes in medical technology and practice, severe shortages in skilled healthcare workers, and an aging population with increased incidence of disease and disability. The cyber infrastructure will facilitate technology-based, distributed delivery of health services, as well as training and lifelong learning for healthcare workers. It can evolve into an electronic care continuum with pervasive access to global, accurate, and timely medical knowledge for individuals about their health needs in an era of rapid change and expanding knowledge.

Removing the friction of competing perspectives and bureaucratic interests by the various agencies of government (along with their supporters in the Congress and beneficiaries among businesses, interest groups, and the public) that would foster “unity of effort” and the ability to prioritize activity, budget accordingly, carry out policies crisply, and convey a consistent message by our government is chimerical. The interagency system cannot be structured to maximum efficiency in the United States. Efficiency is radically beside the point, because the purpose of the structure is to maximize consensus on the activity to be undertaken. The politics cannot be leached out of policymaking—nor should they be—because politics give policymaking its legitimacy.

Child health supervision has been a service highly valued both by the consumer and by pediatricians. In addition to improved public health practices, nutrition, housing, and other environmental factors, pediatric health promotion has made a major contribution to the improved health status of children which has occurred in recent decades in the United States. Although the current preoccupation with cost containment might suggest otherwise, the present question is not how we can do less in health promotion but how we can do more, and with better effectiveness, especially in relation to behavior and development. The potential for child and family health promotion in these areas remains largely unrealized. We live in a society characterized by rapid change. By 1 990, one fourth of the children in the United States will spend part or all of their lives in one-parent families. Today, most mothers work outside the home. Parental divorce, separation, and remarriage are events now frequently experienced by children. Many upwardly mobile families are postponing parenthood and having few children or none. In our highly migratory society, grandparents and other relatives are less available to provide emotional and other support, especially for young parents and children. NEED FOR NEW MODELS In view of all this, the model of pediatric practice that has gradually envolved over the decades to provide care, in the beginning for infants with nutritional and acute infectious disorders, requires constant reevaluation and renewal if it is to remain responsive to emerging health promotion needs, particularly in relation to behaviour and development.
