This paper presents the results of an extensive review of the literature that relates to the interaction of domain-specific and strategic knowledge on academic performance. Our objectives in this review were to: (a) provide a critical analysis of that literature, (b) present hypotheses about the interaction between domain-specific and strategic knowledge as presented in the research, and (c) offer recommendations for future investigations on the interaction of domain-specific and strategic knowledge.

AbstractDespite the continued popularity of outsourcing amongst managers and management researchers alike, signifi cant questions arguably remain as to the adequacy of the typical framing of the outsourcing decision. An extensive review of the literature revealed a skewed, partial and fragmented conceptualisation of the option, further exacerbated by a concerning tendency effectively to rank quantitative outcomes over qualitative outcomes, even ex post. In this article it is argued that a critical analysis of the theoretical frameworks that underlie this body of work suggests a more realistic conceptualisation of outsourcing, both for management researchers and management decision makers.

We assessed the mental and neurological health (MNH) situation of Ecuador in 2006–8, using the Mental and Neurological Health Country Profile (MNHCP) (Gulbinat et al, 2004; Jenkins, 2004; Jenkins et al, 2004), an instrument which helps to develop evidence-based MNH policy and services (Townsend et al, 2004). An extensive review of the literature was undertaken and consultations and consensus meetings (Schilder et al, 2004) were conducted with key mental and neurological health stakeholders, including consumers, carers and clinicians from the government and non- government sectors.

After an extensive review of the literature, regarding zinc.oxide/eugenol impression pastes, we selected 20 of the most representatives as our references. Trough personal information of several of the investigators it was discovered that dimensional changes of theese materials is one of the most difficult properties to be measured. A new method was developed to measure dimensional changes ot 4 (four) of the most widely used zinc.oxide/eugenol impression materials in Brazil. The results, presented through several graphs and tables showed that dimensional changes varied from 0,003%, values which may probably be considered negligible from a clinical point of view. We noticed, however, high values for standard deviation and variance which indicate the high variability within the experiments. Those values were not found when we used the same method with mercaptan and silicone impression materials, in which the measurement of dimensional changes was highly reproducible. One hypothesis (which we intend to investigate in a later research) is that, during storage, a sedimentation could occur, of the components of greater density! Consequently ther might result a change in composition, independent of the method used to establishe the proportion of the two pastes, be it by wheight or measurement of lenght, which could be the cause of variability of the composition of each mixture!

Globalization has forced entrepreneurs of all types of companies to orient their steps of commercial leadership, to search for new forms of internationalization in order to be at the forefront of business transcendence. In Mexico, about 98% are small and medium-sized companies who seek to consolidate their exportable offer through different forms of international commercial collaboration. These figures involve substantive benefits such as: fair trade, specialization and the consolidation of the exportable supply. This research will address the figures of Integrative Company and the Export Consortium to make a comparison between both forms of international business cooperation. This qualitative research with a grounded theory research design had an extensive review of the literature that was carried out. It is concluded that although both figures have similar characteristics, the Integrating Company model offers more fiscal support to microenterprises, while the Export Consortium focuses on the work of small and medium enterprises.
