The chapter is written on two important buildings, the basics of Big data and their security concern. The chapter is classifying in different sections. The chapter starts with the basic of big data and is concluded with security concern. The chapter is enriched with different category examples to make texts easy for author understanding. The chapter begins with the introduction of big data, their memory size followed by the examples. The chapter explains the category of big data in type of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data. The discussion on operational data service and big data application is also included to ensure the basic understanding to readers. The second portion of chapter which is based on security in big data. It's explaining the issues and challenges in big data. The section also focusing on the shift paradigm from cloud environment to big data environment changes and the problems encounter by organizations. The section discusses the framework issue and concluded with the necessity of understanding security in the big data, keeping in view of expansion of information technology infrastructure in the 21st century.

Teknologi Informasi saat ini sudah menjadi kebutuhan inti suatu organisasi dan bukan hanyas sebagai alat pendukung. Pemerintah daerah tetapi juga sebagai instansi pemerintahan, menjadikan Teknologi Informasi sebagai salah satu visi dan misi yang perlu dicapai. Dalam rangka mencapai good government berdasarkan Peraturan Menkominfo No. 41 Tahun 2007, dibutuhkan suatu pengelolaan TI agar dapat memastikan investasi TI menambah value dan selaras dengan tujuan instansi. Pemerintah saat ini belum memiliki prosedur dan kebijakan yang mengatur tentang pengelolaan layanan TI. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membahas tentang service E-Transition layanan Tekologi Informasi E-Goverrment., menggunakan framework Information Technology Infrastructure Library V.3 (ITIL V.3) dengan domain Service Transition. Penelitian ini akan memberikan informasi tentang layanan (Service) dari sistem E-Government yang dapat dikterapkan di E-Government Kabupaten Karawang. Domain Service Transition ITIL V.3 ini memiliki 7 proses, yaitu transition planning and support, change management, release and deployment management, service asset and n configuration management, service valudation and testing,evaluation, dan knowledge management. E-Goverment. Tujuan dari Service Transition ini adalah memberikan layanan (Service) dari service SIMDA (Sistim Informasi Daerah) menjadi Teknologi E-Government. E-Government merupakan suatu service/layanan yang sangat penting bagi lembaga, pemerintahan sebagai suatu nilai dan tolak ukur keberhasilan penegelolaan administratif pemerintahan agar menjadi lebih baik, dan dapat mendukung pencapaian rencana strategis pemerintah untuk mencapai saran visi, misi dan tujuan lembaga tersebut, begitu halnya dengan Pemerintahan Daerah Kabupaten Karawang. Hasil dari penelitian E-Service inii adalah sebuah kebijakan TI dan 5 prosedur terkait proses-proses di ITIL yang menjadi prioritas.

The case centers on Shilling & Smith's acquisition of Xteria Inc. and the resulting need to quickly scale the company's IT infrastructure to accommodate the acquisition. The case is based on a real leasing problem faced by a major retail firm in the Chicago area when it purchased a small credit card processing firm and scaled the operations to handle the retail firm's credit card transactions. The CIO of Shilling & Smith needs to determine which lease option is the best means of providing the technical infrastructure needed to support the firm after the acquisition of Xteria. Several issues will drive this decision, including the value and useful life of the equipment, as well as the strategic context of the firm. This case examines how to evaluate different lease options when acquiring data center information technology infrastructure. Specifically, the case addresses software vs. hardware leasing, different lease terms, and choosing between different lease structures depending on the strategy and needs of a company. This case enables students to understand the different types of technology leases and in which situations these leases would be employed.The Shilling & Smith case examines how to evaluate different lease options when acquiring data center information technology infrastructure. A secondary objective of the case is to teach students the important components and relative costs of information technology infrastructure.
