Aerospace products undergo frequent modifications throughout their product life cycle due to changes in requirements, technology, policy or environmental concerns. These modifications/changes are dealt with through configuration management (CM), which is a techno-managerial function. Conflicting interests of teams involved, complexity due to a long product life cycle spanning over years, R&D nature and techno-political compromises often end up in sub-optimal decisions during aerospace product development. In this article, an attempt is made to apply a scientific method to CM decision-making rather than leave it to techno-political compromises. The CM decision-making is modelled as a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem and is solved using analytic hierarchy process (AHP). As an example, the CM change proposal on propellant tank material in aerospace is taken up and solved using the model. The authors believe that results of the study will also pave way for substitute development with improved attributes, realized through advances in technologies such as nanotechnology and additive manufacturing, as mentioned in directions for future research.

Instalasi perangkat lunak lab komputer secara manual akan menyulitkan pemeliharaan. Configuration management (CM) dapat memudahkan instalasi komputer dalam jumlah besar dan kompleks secara konsisten serta menjaga sistem tetap dalam keadaan mutakhir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan kinerja, sintaks, dan kemudahan implementasi beberapa CM yang populer: Ansible, Chef, dan Puppet. Pengujian dilakukan pada sebuah komputer di jaringan lokal menggunakan Vagrant dengan Virtualbox sebagai provider. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian pada tiga mesin virtual (VM) klien untuk proses instalasi aplikasi lab, Chef memerlukan waktu paling cepat (30 menit), disusul tipis oleh Ansible (31 menit), dan terakhir adalah Puppet (35 menit). Sintaks Chef paling disukai, sedangkan Ansible lebih mudah diimplementasikan karena tidak memerlukan server. Dari hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa CM yang cocok digunakan untuk skala lab komputer adalah Ansible karena kemudahan implementasi dengan kinerja dan dukungan yang baik.

Dalam upaya untuk memberikan layanan TI yang baik dan berkualitas guna mendukung jalannya bisnis proses perusahaan, kemungkinan pencapaian tujuan pemberian layanan TI yang baik dan berkualitas dapat tidak tercapai. Salah satu indikator pencapaian layanan TI tersebut maksimal adalah tercapainya indeks kepuasan pengguna internal terhadap penggunaan layanan TI tersebut. Buruknya indeks pencapaian kepuasan pengguna tersebut dapat disebabkan oleh banyak faktor, salah satunya adalah kinerja organisasi TI. Jenis Penelitan adalah kuantitatif kualitatif dengan desain penelitian adalah deskriptif. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui hal-hal yang mempengaruhi buruknya indeks pencapaian kepuasan pengguna layanan TI dan bagaimana mendapatkan improvement yang tepat, ditinjau dari sisi service operation di organisasi TI Supernova Group. Dilakukan dengan melaksanakan focus group discussion dengan manajemen organisasi TI Supernova Group dan hasil yang diperoleh dianalisa dengan metode DMAIC dengan menggunakan acuan baku ITSM, frame work ITIL v.3. Kesimpulan adalah buruknya indeks pencapaian kepuasan pengguna layanan TI Supernova Group adalah disebabkan tidak adanya beberapa hal berikut, tidak adanya OLA & UC untuk semua layanan, tidak adanya KEDB, tidak adanya problem management, tidak adanya configuration management, kurangnya informasi insiden yang diterima melalui telepon, kurangnya pelatihan serta tidak adanya panduan untuk menentukan prioritas insiden. Hasil improvement adalah adanya peningkatan resolusi penanganan insiden dari 7.686 jam menjadi 4.884 jam serta IT maturity dari incident & problem management process dan service desk function dari 0, 1.5, 1.5 menjadi 1.5, 1.5, 2.5.

AbstractDigitalisation is making significant inroads into society at the same time as the general commercial trend is to able to personalise the product one acquires. The field of digital product representation, and the techniques for adopting a particular product in accordance with the customer's expectations, have become very important corporate assets. From a company's perspective these assets can be leveraged both for internal efficiency and also for different types of external customer interactions. In this article, the standpoint is that product geometry forms the foundation for digital product representation. It is from this perspective that the geometrical ecosystem comes into focus. Geometry creation and geometry consumption, in combination with geometrical configuration management, are high-value areas that must be mastered. A research-based 20-year industrial perspective building up such capabilities serves as an example. The article concludes with a forward-looking perspective on potential areas for continued exploration on this journey.

AbstractThe success of engineering product development depends on the effective communication of design descriptions in formats that suit the needs and capabilities of all stakeholders involved in the delivery to market and through-life support of products. Configuration management is a core design process to ensure the consistency of the technical data package, i.e., the collection of design descriptions needed to support the development, manufacture and operation of a given product. Bills of Materials (BoMs) are critical parts of the technical data package because they act as integrators: adapting detailed design descriptions to suit the needs of particular downstream processes. The ability to reconfigure BoMs while maintaining internal consistency of the technical data package (where all BoM configurations are complete and compatible with each other) is a major challenge. In this paper, we introduce research exploring computational tools that could support engineers in manipulating BoMs while also maintaining the internal consistency of the technical data package.

THE PURPOSE. To consider and analyze the definitions of the concepts "configuration of the electrical grid", "control of the configuration of the electrical grid ", "parameters of the configuration of the electrical grid ". To justify the need to manage the configuration of electrical grid, describe the principles and methods of managing the configuration of the electrical grid. To demonstrate the implementation of the principles of managing the configuration of the electrical grid on the example of an electrical grid with a nominal voltage of 0.4 kV with the use of proprietary technical configuration management tools. METHODS. Based on the literature review, the study identified the wording of key concepts, such as" configuration of the electrical grid"," management of the electrical grid configuration", "parameters of the electrical grid configuration". Methods of managing the configuration of the electrical grid are shown. The principles of electrical grid configuration management proposed by the authors are considered, which include observability, manageability, segmentability, flexibility of the electrical grid configuration, equipment intellectualization, and integration into the economy. The essence of each of the management principles is revealed and the effects of their implementation are shown. The effects of implementing the configuration management principles are to reduce the number of power supply interruptions and reduce the time of power supply interruptions to consumers, mismatch the quality parameters of the electricity supplied to them, as well as to increase the availability of electricity infrastructure. The rationale for the need to manage the configuration of electrical grid is given. Within the framework of the conducted research, the method of system analysis, methods of comparisons and analogies, and expert assessments were used. RESULTS. On the example of the scheme of power supply to consumers at a voltage of 0.4 kV, the implementation of the principles of control of the configuration of electrical grid with the use of proprietary technical means – multi-contact switching systems, input-accounting-distribution devices integrated into the monitoring systems of the parameters of the operating modes of electrical grid and other devices is illustrated. CONCLUSION. The implementation of the principles of configuration management of electrical grid allows to increase the efficiency of power supply systems for consumers and at the same time causes the need to develop new technical means of automation and monitoring of parameters of operating modes of electrical grids.
