Abstract Introduction: Congenital malformation is important cause of child hood blindness, we would like to study factors responsible for it.Methods: This was retrospective cohort study We collected data from our hospital EMR from 2008 to 2019.WE retrieved total number of Pediatric patients outdoor and children with congenital malformed eyes. We also explored history of night blindness in mothers during pregnancy we exported data in excel sheet , type of anomalies calculated using descriptive analyses of SPSS 22.Results: Our cohort consisted of 1435(1.42%) children out of 100946 of total outdoor of pediatric ophthalmology. We found various anomalies in our analyses, out of total 423(29.47%) had history of night blindness to mother during pregnancy suggesting vitamin A deficiency. Conclusion: Hypovitaminosis A in mother has influence maldevelopment and congenital anomalies of eye based on clinical observation.

Chronic exposure to nitrogen dioxide in rodents has shown that injury reaches a maximum after 24 hours, and a reparative adaptive phase follows (1). Damage occurring in the terminal bronchioles and proximal portions of the alveolar ducts in rats has been extensively studied by both light and electron microscopy (1).The present study was undertaken to compare the response of lung tissue to intermittent exposure to 10 ppm of nitrogen dioxide gas for 4 hours per week, while the hamsters were on a vitamin A deficient diet. Ultrastructural observations made from lung tissues obtained from non-gas exposed, hypovitaminosis A animals and gas exposed animals fed a regular commercially prepared diet have been compared to elucidate the specific effect of vitamin A on nitrogen dioxide gas exposure. The interaction occurring between vitamin A and nitrogen dioxide gas has not previously been investigated.

Objectives: 1. Describe neonatal classification of WHO. 2. Identify some principal clinical and paraclinical signs of term, preterm, post term babies. Patients and method: an observational descriptive study of 233 newborns hospitalized in neonatal unit at Hue university‘ s hospital was done during 12 months from 01/01/2009 to 31/12/2009 for describing neonatal classification and identifying principal clinical and paraclinical signs. Results: Premature (16.74%); Term babies (45.5%); Post term (37.76%); Premature: asphyxia (43.59%), hypothermia (25.64%), vomit (30.77%), jaundice (61.54%), congenital malformation (17.95%); CRP > 10mg/l (53.85%); anemia Hb < 15g/dl (12.82%). Term babies: poor feeding (21.7%); fever (24.53%); CRP > 10mg/l (53.77%); Hyperleucocytes/ Leucopenia (35.85%). Post term: respiratory distress (34%); lethargy (29.55%); vomit (26.14%); polycuthemia (1.14%); hypoglycemia (22.73%). Conclusion: each of neonatal type classified by WHO presente different clinical and paraclinical. Signs. The purpose of this research is to help to treat neonatal pathology more effectively.

Bilateral choanal atresia (CA) is a rare congenital malformation frequently associated with other anomalies. CHARGE association is closely linked to bilateral CA. The aim of this study was to describe the outcomes of the endoscopic repair in bilateral CA, and to assess the role of postoperative nasal stenting in two cohorts of CHARGE-associated and non-syndromic CA. Thirty-nine children were retrospectively analyzed (16 patients had CHARGE-associated CA). The rate of postoperative neochoanal restenosis was 31.3% in the CHARGE population, and 47.8% in the non-syndromic CA cohort. Data on postoperative synechiae and granulation tissue formation, need for endonasal toilette and dilation procedures, and number of procedures per patient were presented. Stent positioning led to a higher number of postoperative dilation procedures per patient in the non-syndromic cohort (p = 0.018), and to a higher rate of restenosis both in the CHARGE-associated, and non-syndromic CA populations. Children with CHARGE-associated and non-syndromic bilateral CA benefitted from endonasal endoscopic CA correction. The postoperative application of an endonasal stent should be carefully evaluated.
