The objective of this study is to develop STEAM-based learning media (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) in grade 1 thematic learning to improve critical thinking skills and the culture of scientific literacy in grade 1 students. This media was developed based on the STEAM approach, as the result of the use of media through the syntax of analizing, synthesizing, drawing conclusions, and organizing strategies and tactics. The excellence of this innovative work focuses on improving critical thinking skills and scientific literacy. This type of research is research and development (Research and Development) with ADDIE design (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Based on the results of the study before using STEAM-based colored two-dimensional Figure Mixing media, it was identified that the mean class of students' critical thinking skills was 74.80 and the mean science literacy class was 73.61. After using STEAM-based typewriter media it can be identified that the mean class of students' critical thinking skills was 86.67 and the mean science literacy class was 88.67. The results of this study prove that STEAM-based non-typed media developed can improve students' critical thinking skills so that it has a positive impact on scientific literacy. This study concludes that new learning media developed can improve the activeness of students and ultimately have a positive impact on student learning outcomes.

This study was aimed at examining the development of problem-based English speaking materials and the elements in the problem-based English speaking materials which can enhance grade X students’ critical thinking skills. Employing a Research and Development design using Jolly and Bolitho’s model (1998), the study collected data through observations, tests, interviews, and questionnaires to reach a comprehensive needs analysis. A total of 90 grade X students participated in the study. The product of this study was a set of supplementary materials for teaching speaking. Six units were developed; each of which consisting of six parts reflecting the problem-based stages. Based on the expert judgment, the mean score for all chapters was 3.69, equivalent to the range score of 3.25 ≤ x ≤ 4 (very good). Chapter I and II were tried out to the students. The response showed that the mean score of each chapter was 3.2, equivalent to the range score of 2.5 ≤ x ≤ 3.24 (good). To conclude, the materials are appropriate to be used by 10th graders because it meets their needs and it is designed based on the current curriculum.MATERI BERBICARA BAHASA INGGRIS BERBASISKAN MASALAH UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITISAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan materi berbicara bahasa Inggris berbasiskan masalah dan elemen-elemen dalam materi berbicara bahasa Inggris berbasiskan masalah yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X. Dengan melakukan penelitian dan pengembangan dengan mengadaptasi model Jolly dan Bolitho (1998), data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes, wawancara, dan angket untuk mendapatkan hasil analisis kebutuhan yang komprehensif. Siswa kelas X sejumlah 90 orangberpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah satu set materi pendukung untuk mengajar berbicara. Enam unit materi sudah dikembangkan. Setiap unit berisi beberapa bagian yang mencerminkan langkah dalam pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Berdasarkan penilaian ahli, nilai rata-rata dari semua unit adalah 3,69 yang ekuivalen dengan rentang 3.25 ≤ x ≤ 4 dengan kriteria “sangat baik”. Unit I dan II diujicobakan. Respons siswa menunjukkan nilai rata-rata masing-masing unit sebesar 3,2 yang ekuivalen dengan rentang 2.5 ≤ x ≤ 3.24 dengan kriteria “baik”. Kesimpulannya, materi yang sudah dikembangkan layak untuk digunakan karena sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa dan kurikulum yang digunakan.

This study aimed to describe the effect of problem-based learning on students' critical thinking skills and scientific literacy. This research is a quasi-experimental study with pre-test-post test control group design. Sampling was done by saturated sampling technique in which the experimental class consisted of 35 students and the control class was 34 students. Data on critical thinking skills and student scientific literacy were collected using test instruments which were then analyzed descriptively and statistically. The results showed that the Problem-based Learning model had more effect on students’ critical thinking and scientific literacy (p <0.05) than conventional learning models applied to the control class. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Problem-based Learning model significantly effect on students’ critical thinking and science literacy in class XI MAN 1 Mataram.

Secondary school science educators need to have good scientific literacy and critical thinking skills, so that they have sufficient competency to teach students to be able to compete in the current and future information and globalization. The purpose of this research was to determine the profile of scientific literacy and critical thinking skills of science educators. The subjects of this study were secondary school science educators who were still actively carrying out their professional duties. This study uses descriptive research methods.  The instrument of data collection consists of scientific literacy instruments and instruments of critical thinking skills. The results of the study show that the science literacy profile of science educators is on average categorized as sufficient. The profile of the science literacy skills of junior high school educators is categorized as 33.33% in the good group, 16.67% in the sufficient category, and 50% in the less category. Profile of the average critical thinking skills of science educators in the medium category. Science educators who have high critical thinking skills are 32%, those with moderate critical thinking skills are 32%, and those who have low critical thinking skills are 36%.Keywords: Literacy Science, Critical Thinking, Science Educators.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran berupa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) menggunakan pendekatan inquiry berorientasi pada kemampuan berpikir kritis dan rasa ingin tahu siswa yang berkualitas berdasarkan aspek valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengem­bangan ADDIE dengan tahapan analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian adalah 32 siswa kelas XI MIA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Godean. Analisis data kevalidan dan kepraktisan dilakukan dengan mengkonversi skor aktual menjadi skor kualitatif. Analisis keefektifan dilakukan dengan menentukan persentase ketuntasan siswa pada tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan rata-rata skor angket rasa ingin tahu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan inquiry yang berorientasi pada kemam­puan berpikir kritis dan rasa ingin tahu siswa telah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif. Developing a learning kit using an inquiry approach oriented to critical thinking skillAbstractThis study aimed to produce a learning kit using the inquiry approach oriented to students’ critical thinking skills and curiosity which has a good quality in the aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This study was research and development that used the ADDIE model, which includes the steps of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects were 32 of 11th-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Godean (Senior High School), Province of Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The data of validity and practicality were analyzed by converting the actual score into qualitative data. The data of effectiveness were done by determining the percentage of student that passed the critical thinking skill tests and the mean scores of students' curiosity questionnaire. The results of this study were a teaching kit using the inquiry approach oriented to students' critical thinking skill and curiosity has met the criterion of valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract[Module Development Based on P. berghei Prevention Research in Musculus on Student Critical Thinking]. This study aims to develop learning module based on the research of prevent the occurrence P. berghei bacterial infection and as well as to determine students' critical thinking skills against learning process by modules. This study is Research and Development with 4D design (define, design, development, and desimination). The results of the study found prevention of Plasmodium behergei infection from% inhibitors of erythrocytes at each dose. The dosage used in this study was a dose of 0.014 g / kgbb, 0.028 g / kgbb, 0.056 g / kgbb. The dose of 0.014 g / kg has an 9,24 % inhibitor, a dose of 0.028 g / kgbb has a 9.93% inhibitor, the dose of 0.056 g / kgbb has a 6.61% inhibitor. So the dose of 0.028 g / kgbb is the dose that most reduces the risk of P.berghei infection Mus musculus. In this study the critical thinking students of Semester 6 Chemistry University of Bengkulu classically are good category with a score of 63.13. This percentage is divided in some indicators, the indicator focus  to the question is 67.92 value on the Critical criteria, considering the source can be trusted or not in the critically enough criteria with a value of 59.58, conclude by induction and consider the results of induction with a value of 64, 58 with critical criteria and identify assumptions of getting 63.13 values with critical criteria.Keyword: Module; J. The use of appropriate techniques will determine the success of achieving student competencies in learning. Learning techniques that tend to be monotonous make students less actively involved in learning and less training students’ critical thinking skills. Development of chemistry quiz technique based on HOTS in TGT Model is expected to be implemented effectively in class and assist students in learning chemistry. This development research aims at discovering: (1) the description of the development of chemistry quiz technique based on HOTS in TGT Model; and (2) the extent of the quality of chemistry quiz technique based on HOTS in TGT Model to enhance learning motivation and critical thinking skills of students on Atomic Structure material. The study consists of several stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The product developed was test to 35 students of grade X MIA 4 at SMAN 3 Bone of Academic Year 2019/2020. The validity of the product was test by two assessors. This study employed the stages of TGT model, namely class presentation, group work, games, tournament, and appreciation. The stages of chemistry quiz was started from association activity and presented in a form of a quiz or question which used HOTS questions along with the games to motivate the students in learning and think critically. The results of the study reveal that: (1) the mean score of product validity is 3.71 (very valid); (2) the data of learning motivation questionnaire X ̅ = 3.31 (high); (3) the mean score of N-Gain of KBK is 0.79 (high); (4) The teacher and students indicated a very positive response with the percentage of 96.88% and 87.11%. Therefore, the conclusion is the chemistry quiz technique based on HOTS in TGT Model developed in chemistry learning on Atomic Structure material is valid, practical, and effective to enhance learning motivation and critical thinking skills of students.

This research aims to develop project-based teaching materials of experimental Physics that can improve the critical thinking skills of prospective teachers. This research includes development of education which is divided into three phases, namely preliminary study phase, product design development phase, and product testing phase. The results showed that the teaching materials that have been developed feasible / well used in learning and meet the validation test by the expert for the contents’ feasibility, presentation and language with good category. Students’ response after using the teaching materials is very good to support and complete the teaching materials at the time of lecturing. The teaching materials which tested in experimental Physics II were able to improve students' critical thinking skills from the initial test result with the mean score of 38.1 and the final test result with the mean score of 69.8.

 This research aims to develop practical guideline of natural science that can improve critical thinking skills in junior high school students. Indicators of students' critical thinking skills include interpretation, analysis, evaluation and inference. This study was a Research and Development with Analysis method, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE). Validation associated with test format, content/material, and language was done by experts, while the implementation was given to 35 students in one of Junior High Schools in Jember. The instruments used are documentation, validation sheets, observation sheets, pretest and posttest. Written and lab test results showed an increase in students' critical thinking skills. Based on indicators of critical thinking skills Ngain value was 0.5, in which it was categorized as moderate. Practical guideline of natural science developed was considered as decent and quite effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.Keywords: Practical guideline, Natural Science, Critical Thinking Skills.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan petunjuk praktikum IPA yang valid dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP. Indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa mencakup interprestasi, analisis, evaluasi dan inferensi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development dengan metode Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE). Validasi ahli dilakukan dengan uji expert terkait dengan format, isi/materi, dan bahasa, sedangkan uji coba produk diberikan kepada 35 siswa di salah satu SMP di Jember. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi, lembar validasi, lembar observasi, pretest dan posttest. Hasil tes maupun praktikum menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Berdasarkan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis diperoleh nilai rata-rata Ngain 0,5 dengan interpretasi sedang. Pengembangan petunjuk praktikum IPA yang dikembangkan dalam kategori layak sehingga cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.Kata kunci: Petunjuk Praktikum, Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA), Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis.
