The main purpose of this study to investigate the ability of mathematical communication ofHigh School Students, as a result of learning mathematics through application RealisticMathematics Education (RME). Research design used was a quasi experimental. Subjects inthis study consisted of 70 students of class VII Junior High School, Junior High School on oneof the states in Bandung academic year 2015/2016. Subject determined by purposivesampling techniques, and this study using pretest-posttest design of the control group. Datacollected with a mathematical communication ability test descriptions. Data were analyzedusing parametric statistical tests which is Test Independent Sample T-Test and nonparametrical tests which is Test Mann-Whitney. The results showed that: (1) students wholearn math with RME approach has a better ability mathematical communication of studentswho do not learn math with RME; (2) increasing mathematical communication ability ofstudents who learn with RME better than students who do not learn with RME; (3) students'attitudes toward learning mathematics through RME showed a positive attitude.

This study aims to analyze in depth the influence of mathematical disposition on mathematical communication ability of junior high school students. The method in this research using a correlational method with quantitative approach. The population of this study is all junior high school students in one of the SMP Negeri in West Bandung amounted to 34 students. Instruments in this study using the test of mathematical communication skills as much as 5 items and the scale of mathematical disposition as much as 23 points of statement scale. The result of this research is student's mathematical disposition influenced by 76,5% then its rest influenced by other factors outside mathematical disposition equal to 23,5%.

This study aims to determine the improvement of mathematical communication skills of junior high school students from the influence of contextual approach. This research takes the form of a posttest pretest design that compares the influence of a contextual approach with a conventional approach. This study has a population that is all students of SMP class VII in Cianjur District while the sample is a student of class VII SMP Plus Al-Ittihad Cianjur. The samples were taken at random into experimental groups and control groups. Based on the data in the field, it can be concluded that the effect of improving mathematical communication ability of junior high school students who gain learning using contextual approach is better than conventional learning. Therefore, the effect of improving learning with contextual approach is much better while conventional learning is still very less.

Abstrak Kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa di SMP 1 Cilaku masiih rendah karena terbatasnya model pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran matematika. Proses pembelajaran biasa didominasi oleh guru sehingga membuat siswa merasa jenuh, bosan, dan pembelajaran jadi terasa tidak menyenangkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa kelas Vii SMP 1 Cilaku di Cianjur menggunakan model AIR dan dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa, menyampaikan pendapat dalam proses menyelesaikan masalah, keterampilan bertanya dan pengetahuan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua siklus pada siswa kelas VII D di SMP 1 Cilaku tahun ajatan 2016-2017 sebagai objek penelitian. Terdapat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran AIR. Pembelajaran berjalan dengan kondusif sehingga siswa memberikan respon yang positif dan menunjukkan peningkatan pada setiap siklus. Kata Kunci: model Pembelajaran AIR, komunikasi matematika   The Application of AIR Learning Model to Increase Junior High School Students Mathematical Communication Ability   Abstract Mathematical communication ability among students in Cilaku 1 junior high school still low because of the lack of the learning models in mathematics lesson. The ordinary learning mostly dominated by the teacher that makes the students feel saturated, bored, and makes the lesson considered not fun. The aims of this research are to increase the students’s mathematical communication ability grade VII in Cilaku 1 junior high school in Cianjur by using the AIR model and can increase the students’s learning activity, the clear arguments in completion problem proccess, asking and knowledge skills. This research is action class research trough two cycles with students in D class grad VII in Cilaku 1 junior high school year 2016-2017 as the objects of the research. Significantly had done the lesson using AIR model. The lesson is condusive so that the students give positive response and shows increase in every cycles. This study aims to analyze the application of inductive-deductive approach to improve the ability of mathematical communication and self efficacy of junior high school students. The design of this study is quasi experiment. The research instruments used in this research are mathematical communication ability test and self efficacy attitude scale. The population in this study is all students of SMP Negeri 1 Soreang with this research sample is 80 students of class VIII as much as two classes chosen at random. Data analysis was done quantitatively to the data of mathematic communication ability and self efficacy attitude scale. In statistical calculations using SPSS 21, the results of the study show that improving students' mathematical communication skills whose learning uses a deductive-inductive approach is better than using ordinary learning. And self efficacy of junior high school students whose learning using inductive -deductive approach is better than using ordinary learning. Keywords:  Mathematical Communication Skills, Self Efficacy, Deductive-induktive approach

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa SMP dalam menyelesaikan soal lingkaran. Subjek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas IX dari salah satu SMP Negeri di Cimahi tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Untuk mendapatkan data dalam penelitian ini, digunakan 6 tes soal uraian kemampuan komunikasi matematik dan wawancara. Berdasarkan pada hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa  kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa belum mencapai hasil yang maksimal terutama pada kemampuan mejelaskan ide, situasi matematik secara tulisan dengan gambar, dan aljabar; kemampuan menyatakan peristiwa sehari-hari dalam bahasa simbol matematika, dan kemampuan membuat konjektur, menyusun argumen dan generalisasi, serta membuat pertanyaan tentang matematika yang telah dipelajari. Penyebab siswa belum memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematik yang baik adalah siswa menganggap menuliskan apa yang diketahui dan ditanyakan itu merupakan hal yang tidak penting. Siswa kurang memahami konsep dasar dalam melakukan proses operasi hitung baik dalam bentuk aljabar maupun operasi hitung matematika yang lain. Siswa cenderung ceroboh dalam mengerjakan soal karena ingin cepat selesai dan kurangnya konsep pemahaman mengenai materi lingkaran. Kata kunci: kemampuan komunikasi matematik, materi lingkaran. ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the mathematical communication ability of junior high school students in solving circle problems. The research subjects are ninth grade students from one of State Junior High School at Cimahi in the academic year 2017/2018. The method of this research is qualitative descriptive. The data are obtained from the analysis of 6 mathematical communication skill tests and interview. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the students’ mathematical communication ability has not achieved optimal results, especially in the ability to explain ideas, mathematical situation in writing with pictures, and algebra; the ability to express everyday events in the language of mathematical symbols; and the ability to make conjectures, to formulate arguments and generalizations, and to form a questions based from the previous topics have been learned. The students do not have a good mathematics communication ability because they assume that writing down anything given and asked is not important. Students do not understand the basic concept of algebraic operation or other mathematical operations. Students tend to be careless in working because they want to finish quickly and they need better concept to understand the circle topics.
