Design, development and performance evaluation of a smart office automation system

This research work aimed at the design, development and performance of Office Automation System, using the Internet of Things (IoT) based and Voice Recognition Command. The data is stored in personal computer (PC) or android smartphone. Arduino IDE was the framework used in the development of the system, while C++ was the programming language used for programming the system. Similarly, a voice control was built using the This Then That (IFTTT) platform. The system developed was capable of enabling users to control office appliances like printer, air conditioner, light, fan, etc. with voice command using the Google home mini device. Results obtained from the laboratory test proved that the system had a very high (about 98%) performance rating. This system had shown that office automation system can use voice command to preform its task

As one of the most important parts of the financial organizations nowadays, banking industry plays an important role in not just the area of high-speed operation of the sociaty’s economy but also in the area of currency exchange. The Wave of Information Technology, which has caused a swift-development of the whole world’s economy, brings about both opportunity and challengs never arised to the banking industry. The sociaty, as it is becoming more intellectual and automatic, has post a harder demand for the working efficiency of the banking industry. Therefore, the banking industry must enhance its construction of informationization and automation in order to strengthern its competitiveness as well as the economic construction of service sociaty. Banking office automation will improve the working efficiency along with modernized management level in the light of advanced computer technology.

The development of information technology nowadays encourages users to use the software appropriately so that commercial software can be maximally empowered that contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the job. To support its work, users use Microsoft's Microsof Excel Office Automation System worksheet commonly used by end users for clerical, repetitive and independent work. Microsoft Excel applications are generally used for office worker, clerical computation and users generally use only a portion of the features of some features owned by the application. In this case, the user can maximize the ability of Excel by creating an interactive pseudo database using only Microsoft Excel, so users can organize data with automated database schema. It is intended for time efficiency and also improves the data security factor of human error in handling data.

Workflow technology is the core technology to realize business process modeling, process operation, monitoring and management, and ultimately realize business process automation. Workflow-based office automation system can separate code writing and the operation mode. When business processes need to be changed, there is no need to modify the program. Users only need to customize the workflow through the visual process customization mode. The workflow engine is the core of the whole workflow management system and the control center of the whole system. This article designs a workflow engine based on a relational structure, including the design of workflow engine class, functional component, interface and database. Finally, a flexible office automation system with customizable business processes is implemented.
