The problem of development of communicative culture of modern high school seniors for modern pedagogical science on the basis of the needs the permission of the identified contradictions is revealed in the article. The author proposes the solution to indicated problem by utilizing the potential of intergenerational learning and interaction in mixed-age groups. Another, different from the traditional meaning of the term «high school senior», that is typical for schools implementing multiage training is represented.

1,127 U.S. high school senior and college undergraduate perceptions of teaching’s prestige, status, and esteem were explored in this study. The population consisted of 302 high school seniors and 825 college undergraduates from the Midwestern region of the United States. The study included 51 statements where participants rated their perceptions of teaching’s prestige, status, and esteem on an 8-point Likert scale. The data was factor analyzed, and the results identified that the perceptions of teaching’s prestige consisted of financial and image perceptions. A descriptive analysis found that U.S. high school senior and college undergraduate perceptions of teaching’s financial component of prestige (M = 9.99, SD = 2.90) and esteem (M = 10.42, SD = 3.05) were more negative in comparison to status (M = 13.38, SD = 2.74). Bivariate correlation, Univariate, and hierarchal linear regression techniques measured the effects that the perceptions of teaching’s prestige, status, and esteem had on U.S. high school seniors and college undergraduate teaching considerations. The results indicated that the perceptions of teaching’s status may encourage U.S. high school seniors and college undergraduates to consider careers in teaching, but the perceptions of esteem may produce opposite effects. The results demonstrated that the perceptions of teaching’s esteem may discourage U.S. high school seniors and college undergraduates scoring in the upper deciles of the ACT (American College Testing) from considering teaching in the United States. The results indicated that the perceptions of esteem may also discourage U.S. urban female high school seniors and college undergraduates from considering the career. Finally, the results demonstrated the perceptions of teaching’s esteem and its interaction with the financial perceptions of teaching’s prestige may discourage U.S. aspiring teachers from the career. This result raises questions as to the “roots” of the early teacher attrition problem in the United States.

Family can inspire the child to perform well in school. When the students belong to a complete family they can gain more confidence to do the task. Students who have complete family can be encouraged themselves to produce positive learning style in their studies. When the student belongs to a broken family the set of behaviors can be different towards certain task. Using the correlation quantitative design, the study was conducted in the Jagobiao National High School-Senior High Department in which the data were treated with chi-square to determine the relationship between family status and self-motivation. As a result, family status and self-motivation has no significant correlation in studies of any students, self-motivation exist regardless of family status, broken and complete. The motivation of student deals with their innate behavior and attitude to achieve better academic performance.

This study aims to analyze mental health and anxiety levels during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study focused on students who were forced to study at home by e-learning. This study used as many as 210 students from junior high school, senior high school, and university levels which were selected randomly. Then, this study used a mixed-method by combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used to obtain empirical results to compare mental health and anxiety levels based on student age groups. The analysis results revealed there was a positive and significant influence of the students’ age group on mental health and anxiety levels during the outbreak of COVID-19. The analysis also concluded that students in the 12-15 years’ age group had the worst mental health level. Meanwhile, students in the 20-25 years’ age group are known to have the lowest anxiety level. Overall, this study found that Indonesian students experienced a decline in mental health and detected an increase in anxiety levels. The level of mental health and student anxiety has implications for their learning at home, which can lead to unsatisfactory learning outcomes.

Two recent trends in the teaching of mathematics can often go hand in hand. These two are the spiral approach to content development and the discovery-teaching/learning method. This paper will present some topics that illustrate how these approaches to content and method may complement each other. Space will not permit the full explication as it might occur in a classroom, but it is hoped that both the discovery approach to mathematical conjecture as well as the spiral nature of the topics will be evident. The specific topics discussed here range from those for the upper elementary school pupil to those for the high school senior—the exact placement depends not only on the topic itself, but on the language and notation as well.
