The article introduces corpus-based DDL (Data-driven Learning) technologies in teaching ESP (English for Specific Purposes). The aim of the author is twofold: to offer English language teachers to design grammatical and lexical activities to develop senior students’ research writing skill and to assist senior students to construct scholarly field-related sentences. For the purpose of the study, the author used a mini manually compiled corpus of robotics, one of the branches of mechanical engineering and demonstrated practical instructions of corpus-based grammatical and lexical insights with DDL technologies. In spite of some limitations and future research, the findings of the study can contribute language teachers to develop senior students’ productive (writing) skills via designing corpus-based data driven materials as well as improve students to construct grammatically and lexically correct sentences for succeeding in their further research and career growth.

In the article offered to the attention of readers, for the first time in the world literature, both the theoretical foundations for creating flotocombines based on a multi-stage and generalized flotation model are considered, and practical recommendations based on the principles of biosimile. Possible schemes of flotocombines of the KBS type and special purpose are shown. New aeration systems for use in various flotation apparatus, including flotocombines, are considered. Practical examples of the use of new flotation equipment are described. It is offered to a wide range of readers, including researchers, university professors, graduate students, masters, bachelors and senior students.

A review of the methodological literature on computer modeling shows the existence of different approaches to its teaching in secondary and higher education. It is a common approach in which the construction of models is carried out using the apparatus of higher mathematics, which is possessed mainly by senior students. This leads to the transfer of the course “Methods of mathematical modeling” for 7-8, and sometimes 9-10 semesters, which reduces its role in shaping the worldview of the future specialist, which takes place in high school and junior high school. This state of affairs forced us to create a propaedeutic course “The basics of computer simulation”, which was developed by the joint efforts of the Department of Informatics and Applied Mathematics of Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University and the Department of Informatics of the Kryvyi Rih Tsentralno-Miska gymnasium. The methodological support of the course is a textbook designed for high school students and junior high school students.


This study discussed English student teachers’ growth in employability as a driving consequence of the transition to emergency remote learning in light of COVID-19 pandemic. The authors focused on senior students reaching graduation during this critical time. The learning mode change was believed to have a significant impact on graduates’ employability capital, thus influencing their post-study career plans. This quantitative research followed Tomlinson’s (2017) graduate employability framework, covering five forms of capital explores their perceptions of employability capital and measures how perceptions vary between groups of backgrounds. Specifically, they sought to develop a comprehensive understanding of how the transition to remote learning has challenged students’ employability capital, which then affected their career-related decision-making following graduation. The findings suggested, besides implications and limitation, five clustered forms of capital and explain why they perceived differently.

The method of orally reproducing a written text in a target language is called sight translation (STr). This method is used as a bridge between translation and interpreting which is now considered as its mode of interpreting. Sight translation is two-toned because it requires both reading and speaking; therefore, students face difficulties and challenges while performing the task. The purpose of this study is to highlight the problems students face before taking an exam in sight translation and during the exam. To conduct the study, depending on Likert-scaled questions, fifteen senior students participate in a two-part quantitative questionnaire. The first part is a pre-test questionnaire in which students are asked to answer a set of questions to highlight the challenges they face before the exam. Later, the students are asked to translate a text from English into Kurdish, through which the researcher tries to evaluate the students’ translation and their abilities to overcome the problems they face in performing sight translation according to sight translation exam criteria. Soon after, the students perform the post-test questionnaire in which they give their reviews about the challenges they had during the exam. The whole questionnaire is designed to validate the results of the students in sight translation exams.  This paper is helpful to understanding the students’ challenges in sight translation and helps the translation teachers to make appropriate pedagogical decisions to ease the challenges students face during sight translation.

Purpose of the article: analysis of the experience of implementing end-to-end technologies in vocational education. Methodology: the article presents a study aimed at identifying the role of end-to-end technologies in the professional training of students. For this, a survey was conducted among students on the use of end-to-end technologies in the educational process in three age categories (junior, middle, senior). Students had to assess the importance of end-to-end technologies for the implementation of the educational process on a scale from 1 to 4. Results: Students note the significant role of end-to-end technologies in professional activities. This is a promising direction for the development of vocational education.

This study looks at the variability of accounting students’ perceptions in Indonesia on the importance of IT competence and IT responsibility for accountants and the importance of IT sustainability practices. This study measures different perceptions of accounting students based on gender (male and female), year of study (junior and senior), and the type of university (public and private). The majority of accounting students agree with the importance of accountants’ role in IT sustainability practices by utilizing information systems. However, differences in perceptions of accountants’ IT responsibility, accountants’ IT competence, and the importance of IT sustainability practice are found in the senior and junior student groups. This finding results in junior students being higher than senior students in understanding the importance of the accountants’ role in the IT sustainability practice. Differences were also found in the groups of students from public and private universities, where students in public universities have a higher perception than students in private universities toward IT sustainability issues. There is no difference in perception in the gender group. This study can be helpful for higher education providers and teachers in accounting who play an essential role in supporting students to understand the practical implementation in accounting professions regarding their role in sustainability through the utilization of information technology.

This article addresses trends and perspectives in didactic evaluation in technical higher education and in order to assist teachers in their continuous training through the results obtained. Thus, 263 students from Politehnnica University of Timisoara were interviewed. The research tool was a questionnaire with 25 items, of which 5 were factual. The issues addressed were related to an analysis of the state of affairs of the evaluation, as well as the proposals made by the interviewees to improve the evaluation. The suggested changes tackle a greater understanding and empathy on the teachers’ part, their objectivity, as well as a better correlation of the evaluation with the students’ psychological and personality traits. Regarding evaluation, particularly interesting was the suggestion of replacing teachers with senior students or even with computers. On the other hand, there is a reluctance of respondents to replace evaluators with intelligence devices or gadgets. The article can also be a starting point for future indepth research on the matter of evaluation.
